Nasty, non kid friendly service is what you get here. While food is ok if you are Italian there are much better options. More important how can you frequent a place that doesn’t take care of long standing customers when they have a simple problem with how a pasta dinner was made They made a dish poorly that we have had before and we told them nicely and they went off the wall with nasty remarks. I will never go back. Food is important but more important is being a decent human being.

The pizza at Pepe and Rose is to die for! We originally tried this small, mom and pop style restaurant because of its close proximity to our apartment. We didn’t feel like driving all the way to the other side of Branford for Marco’s, so decided to try Pepe and Rose. So glad we did!!! The pizza is top 3 in the area, and the prices are reasonable. I tried the penne alla vodka and was overwhelmed by how tasty it was. This is a must-​try Italian restaurant in Branford!

We get takeout here. Pizza, dinners, subs. It’s good food and consistent. The sloppy lasagna is very good. I like to get the meatballs with ricotta when I don’t want something too filling. Of course the pizza is always good!

If you’re looking for the best Italian restaurant in all of New Haven County, trust me when I say you will find it here. Without question the best of the best of the best. Small, understated, family owned and run with incredible AUTHENTIC food that you will not find anywhere else. I have yet to taste a vodka sauce better… their Eggplant Parm is to die for… I dream about their garlic bread and fondue… the list goes on and on. (Be sure to ask for menu suggestions from their beautiful & attentive server, Naaz who is not only sweet but extremely knowledgeable.) I urge you to indulge yourself this weekend and make a reservation at this best kept secret. You won’t be disappointed!

Thought I would try again. I always loved the food but never the service. Haven’t been here in over 5 years. Naaz was our server tonight. Five stars for her! She is a delight and truly the reason I would come back again ! I hope they realize what a gift she is. I’m thrilled as I always loved the fettuccine Alfredo and I can’t wait to try it again. Had pizza tonight, breaded eggplant yummy! So very happy I stopped in tonight!

This review reflects my more recent experience here. Sometimes their pizza is the best in town by far, but lately its been doughy, the oregano is spread unevenly, and I think they might have changed their cheese to something lower quality. That said, their sauce is fantastic and when they are on their game you get a great pie and great service. I’ll go back soon, but hopefully they figure out how to make their product more consistent because I’d really like to be able to order the pizza I got the first few times I went!

If I could give it less than one star I would. It took over an hour to get our salads and the waiter didn’t even apologize. It took even longer to get our dinner. Never going to eat here again. Probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had.

I have going here for years I have to it always has been exactly what I ordered and over the last 12 years I have tried everything is it the the best Italian I ever had no but it’s Dam good from the Pizzas to the meatball sandwich you get what you pay for that’s all I can ask for.

What a gem!!! Tucked away near Branfond Honda in a small half-​abandoned shopping plaza one might not discover this little nugget. Terrific food and really, really friendly service! We had the Fried Clams and Mussel apps — the clams were friend just right– not greasy and the sauce for the mussel was terrific! Our table ordered Gnocchi with Fresh Mozzarella, Linguine with Clams, Broccoli Rabe with Sausage and all the dishes were incredibly well prepared. I never expected such great food from this little unassuming restaurant.

Love the food. My favorites there are Chicken Parm and Fried Calamari. Oddly enough, I’m not a huge fan of the pizza but I like everything else. The only major problem with this restaurant is service. Multiple times we went there, service was extremely slow even when there was nobody in the place. So if you’re impatient, get the food to go.

I just moved to East Haven from New Haven and sadly I have to say that I didn’t quite realize how nice it is to have about 30 delivery options when you feel like sitting on your couch and having a stranger bring you dinner…
Still missing the great pizza delivery in New Haven, but I really like this place. They are CRAZY fast— they always say it’ll be about 30 minutes but don’t plan on going anywhere because they always come quick. The pizza is really good. I’ve had the cheese (great standby) and the barbecue chicken (delicious). Don’t know about the rest of the menu (did have fries and garlic bread on different occasions and they were both pretty good also)…
Good food. Reasonable prices. FAST delivery. Consoled me when I miss the easy delivery days of the past
