Floating Cafe

Poor food. Poor service. The portions were small and the price was steep. What else does anyone look for in a restaurant?

We were staying at a near by resort and someone recommended this place. They must be getting paid to say that because I can’t think of a single reason to recommend this place. Our waitress could care less. We asked for some crackers for our 2 year old, she brought us one cracker… Half the stuff on the menu they didn’t have so I had the bacon cheeseburger. Bacon was a wet noodle, not crisp at all and same goes for their fries just soggy. No saw the cook eating while preparing food and he had some food on his lip while cooking. The upstairs are promised a nice view but of course it was closed. I would find someplace else to eat, the fly problem inside was horrible. I gave it two stars instead of one because when my kid was throwing a for a different waitress have us fish food for the dock which he loves.

Maybe my expectation was too high, everyone we talk too locally highly recommended the restaurant. We were told its great food, quick service & great for kids.
1. We were not greeted when we first got into the restaurant. The restaurant seemed cleaned, but really could have been better taken care of. The table was sticky.
2. The service was not great. We had an older blonde lady, that didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. It took her over 5min to bring menus & get our drink order. We ask for some crackers for our 2yr old, and she brought one package? Seriously.
3. Not kid friendly, no drink options besides soda & water. If you have a toddler, not friendly what so ever. They do not have a kids menu, no crayons. The do give you fish food, to feed the fish but that really doesn’t take up much time.
4. When placing an order, instead of letting us know the specials or telling us what is not on the menu. Basically you name off something and the waitress would say nope don’t have it order something else. After 5 different no answers, we got to pick a burger.
5. The food was ok, but a gas station burger would have been better. The bun was stale, chips stale, and the fries soggy.
6. We never got a ticket, so we went to pay up front. After we paid the waitress, brought us a ticket!!! We told her we already paid and its a small small restaurant!!! Not sure how she didn’t know?!
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone or would we ever come back. It was a waste of time & money.

The food here was so good. The service was great too. We had a big party I called ahead of time and got a table. We were sat down right away. The onion rings are really good!

Best homemade chips on the lake. Burgers are pretty good too. Wish they had the dinner options available at lunch. Be prepared to wait, this is not a quick stop and eat place, but that’s okay at the lake. You can keep yourself entertained while waiting for your food by feeding the geese, ducks, giant fish, and turtles that stay near this place.

What should have been a quick lunch turned into an almost hour long endeavor. We sat down, ordered drinks then our food. The food took almost 35 minutes to come out. Most of the food was wrong and cold. Waitress never refilled our drinks, and then she never very back to our table. Asked another waitress for silverware and she just laughed and then brought only one set. Never received any mustard, mayo, or ketchup for our sandwiches. Two meals came out completely wrong. One fish po boy was undercooked. They were not very busy when we were there. I do not recommend going here. Terrible service, food was so so.

The view deserves 5 stars, the food about 3 (only because husbands eggs were over cooked and my sons under cook), the waitress was nice and seemed like she was in a good mood even though she had to climb stairs to get food to our table. I would go here again, but the owner needs to be more aware of these negative reviews and do something to encourage better reviews!

Tried to eat here this morning. There were no tables available when we arrived. We were the only ones waiting but the staff never spoke to us in the 10 min we stood there. Felt pretty neglected and left.

Terrible terrible terrible service. Waitress was struggling every step of the way, food was very questionable. One patron came in after us, then leaned over and shared waiting for fifteen minutes with no waitress stopping by. It’s too bad since on the water and nice but go anywhere else.

Ate at the Floating Café before our boat reservation time at Indian Point Marina. We arrived a little before 11 AM and at 11 is when they change from breakfast to lunch. I ordered an omelet and it was good (the bacon a little crisper than I prefer). The rest of our party wanted lunch items and I was served probably 20 before they were because the cook cannot do both breakfast and lunch items at the same time… On fact, they would not even take the lunch orders until all breakfast orders had been prepared and served. Everyone order the fish sandwich and it was good. The homemade potato chips were a special treat. The Floating Café is a very acceptable place to eat while hanging around the marina. Waitress was very courteous!

Staff was not very attentive, food was average at best. Homemade chips are good though.

We pulled our boat up and grabbed some quick hoagies to eat on the lake. Nice ladies, good food, reasonable price. Fresh sandwiches on the lake can be hard to find. I would go back.
