This has got to be one of the worst — if not THE worst — Chinese buffet I’ve been to. Chinese food was eh. The American food went downhill from there. The BBQ was straight up dry and shriveled in the pans. The«sushi» had been sitting there for god knows how long. The rice was mush. Service was okay. Would definitely go elsewhere.

I’ll preface this review by saying that we live in Texas, which easily has the worst Chinese food in the country(but our BBQ is amazing, so it’s a small sacrifice). Anyway, whenever we get out of the DFW area, we try to get our fix of Chinese food, and we tried out Hong Kong Buffet while we were in Branson. We arrived at about 5:30 pm, which is a little early for dinner but there was a car wreck ahead of us and traffic was at a standstill, so dinner seemed like a good alternative. The server was really nice and seated us near the buffet, which was really handy since we have small children. Everything was fresh and good. I really liked the Moo Goo Gai Pan and my husband ate his weight in crab rangoons. The kids liked the mandarin oranges and the jello. The chicken fried rice and the rice noodles were also really tasty. My husband had some of the grilled steak and he said that it was perfect. I am glad we stopped!

It wasn’t the worst nor the best Chinese buffet I’d ever been to. It was a solid OK.

Very good buffet with a great variety. Clean. Our server was semi friendly and could not speak very good English. That made for very difficult communication. Otherwise I would recommend.

Good food. Great price. Quality was better than most. Food seemed to be fresh. Friendly staff. Worth the stop.

Horrible! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. The chicken was so tough that I have to use a knife to cut the two pieces I attempted to eat. The chicken was so tough that it wasn’t even edible I will not be going back. By the way, I am a local I’ve lived in Branson since 2006.

We decided to visit because my husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The traditional gift is china, so as a joke we decided on a Chinese buffet. HUGE disappointment! The food was terrible and the actual Chinese selection was lacking. A bar of salad options. A bar of dessert options. A bar of fried American options. And a bar of Chinese options. For a Chinese buffet to only have about 25% Chinese food is pathetic. You have a million other dining options in Branson. Skip this one!

I’m not sure why everyone is giving this place such bad reviews… It’s a Chinese buffet. No false advertisement. The food was fresh. It had typical food you would find on a Chinese buffet plus a good assortment of American type food. The prices were very reasonable. The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our lunch.

No soap in restroom. Rice and the majority of foods were not fresh at all. Very pour service, you need to ask waitress several times to collect your plates. They are all playing with their mobile instead of caring their costumers. They even charge a 3 year old child. Don’t waist your money and time as there are lots of great restaurant around there.

We were staying on Tablerock Lake and wanted some cheap carry out since we couldn’t get delivery up where we were staying. We drove into town, dealt with awful Branson traffic, stocked up on liquor at CVS, and asked the checker at CVS to guide us to some takeout Chinese. We struggled up 76 for twenty minutes, finally got to Hong Kong and the buffet left a lot to be desired… It was 6:20ish and it had seemingly been sitting out for a REALLY long time. I wasn’t touching the sushi bar, nor anything that wasn’t thoroughly cooked. Everything, honestly, was very bland… lacking in flavor. We bought by the pound and I sampled virtually every meat entrée they had on the stir-fry component bar. Upon returning to our condo I sampled each item, including the rangoons. Rangoons, no flavor. The Sesame Chicken… no flavor. The Orange Chicken… no flavor. The Bourbon Chicken — even… no flavor. Very very bland. I was frustrated by this, but we decided to chalk it up as a loss, drown our sorrows in the cheap CVS wine, and make it better with gorgeous lake view on Tablerock with 60 degree weather in December. It did indeed make up for the really rough buffet takeout.

This was the worst buffet I have ever been to. The food was cold. The food was nasty. The desserts were the best part. When they asked how it was on we told them horrible, all the lady had to say was“sorry” didn’t even try to discount anything. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to eat here!

Cost was $ 9.25 for weekday dinner. The food was okay. Server Sarah was sweet and attentive. It just felt tired and old. We wouldn’t go back.

Before I start I would like for you to review my Review if you found it helpful, funny etc… OK, I can’t do any better the 2 star. I eat at more traditional Chinese buffets(with Chinese people actually eating there) Since, I read the reviews here on Unilocal,I though I give it a go. I know right away we entered a American cratered buffet when my wife greeted the host in Mandarin and they replied I don’t speak Chinese. But, that did not stop us since we knew we were in Branson MO. Well guess what… Pasty heavy food! meaning they are adding flour to the dishes to make you feel full(old trick) they served NOFISH dishes at all, unless you like the imitation crab, and mostly fried items, they served a stir fry Chicken and next to it sat Stir fried Beef. The boneless ribs were pretty good though. Soup– count not break the skin layer to get the spoon out(no soup for me) Salad bar — not to many items but fresh enough to eat Desert bar — Like someone else posted plentiful, frozen ice milk soft serve, sugar donuts, cookies, cakes and apple and peach cobbler. Waiter service — was there but, did not interact unless they were grabbing the plates we had placed on the table next to us to free up some room(we were 4 adults — 1 kid) at a table for 6. Oh, I think it is something with Branson MO, I could not get away from flies? they are everywhere! So, it did not surprise me when a few came to pester us while we ate our lunch. I think Lia Lia in Hollister, MO65672 may have been a better bet, but they are closed from 2 to 4pm.

When the waiter asked if everything was okay, I wanted to say yes everything but the food lol. Just not what I’m used to… they were missing my sweet n sour chicken which was replaced by fried chicken nugget things the rice was stale just to much to name… i hate writing bad reviews but to be serious here i rather have went to mcdonalds and i love chinese food just trust me. i read a review saying they been in business for a long time. i bet they have because of tourist like me haha the best thing was my ice water! yum

Not MEGA anything. A couple more selections than Panda Express, but that’s about it. I hope you don’t want vegetables, because other than the fairly decent cold salad bar, they only had one main Asian dish with veggies. None of the food was hot… At least none that I tried. Bread was ok, but I like those hot rolls and was disappointed that these were room temperature. I have eaten FAR worse, and am NOT saying their food was bad. But I AM saying it was limited selections of what seemed like Chinese leftovers. I would eat them up if I was at home, but don’t feel happy paying $ 20 for two of us.

I don’t believe this place deserves the low star rating it currently has! The variety of foods offered in the buffet were great with average to above average taste. I particularly enjoyed the egg rolls, grilled chicken, rice and crab rangoon. The servers were attentive and the buffet was fresh and appealing. Can’t tell you how many times someone came out to wipe spills on the buffet bar and check the quality of the food. Lots of great dishes for a fair price, especially for a family looking to balance the budget of eating out in Branson. — — — — – — - — - — - THEDETAILS Date & Time: Thursday, July 19th, 2012 @ 2:15pm Dining Companions: wife and children What to expect: great presentation, well beyond the typical buffet
Huge buffet, quick service. They easily accomodated our group of 11. Some of the items on the bufet were really good, some were not. I totally avoided the sushi section since there was no way to know how long stuff had been sitting out. The 8 ½ dollar buffet price gave us access to a salad bar, hot food bar, and dessert bar with ice cream, cookies and cake. Everyone found something they liked. Although the staff was quick to pick up our dishes, the floor in the restaurant was very dirty with food, napkins, etc. I didn’t see any attempts to clean that up.
