These are definitely NOT snow cones with crunchy chunks of ice; the secret is in the much finer, softer ice – like fallen snow. If you haven’t had one of these light fluffy snow treats on top of a scoop of ice cream, you need to make the drive over to Oahu Shave Ice & Ice Cream. The finely shaved ice holds the flavor better than a snow cone, and our flavors are especially delicious. Pick one of our many flavors to make your new favorite refreshing treat. You can also top your shave ice with a Snow Cap (sweet vanilla cream – tastes like ice cream), sweet condensed milk, azuki beans, li hing mui powder, chocolate syrup, whipped cream or caramel.

Context: Came by myself looking for a shaved ice place
Environment: Really cute place that is super cozy, I believe from the other reviews that they had moved in with a bakery. Some people had complaints that the original location had more of a Hawaiian feel, and the bakery takes away from the theme but in my opinion it didn’t deter from anything.
Price: $ 6 for a Small. I added ice cream and two toppings. I thought it was slightly pricy compared to other places. I believe they offer Groupons once in a while but I didn’t have any.
Shaved Ice: Ordered a small strawberry, guava and mango and it was really good! Also ordered condensed milk on top with ice cream at the bottom. The shaved ice is fluffy and the syrup is delicious!
Service: Great service! Worker was friendly and patient as I was deciding what to order.
Overall: Definitely a great place for shaved ice, a little bit on the pricy side once you add in everything but great for solid shaved ice.

What a crap store. They weren’t even open when we got here at 630pm. They close at 7 it says on their Unilocal.When you call you don’t connect to the store you connect to a automated voice service that tells you the different times for the different stores. This is misleading because their help only lists ONE time that they’re open not the variable times for each day is the week. Screw this place, its a dime a dozen.

Great shaved ice, but the business is unreliable. It’s very frustrating to drive 45 minutes to get here, only to see they’re closed. Unilocal said they were open, as well as their voicemail. If you really want to come, you’re probably best off calling first (and make sure a human answers). Time to find a new place.

Came in to brea location on sat. It was a HOT day and there was one girl working to do everything. Not her fault and she did her best but tip to manager… have more help or get in and work yourself. There was a lady ahead of me that left pissed as i get impression she never got her order taken as the poor girl was so busy. I ordered not realizing how many ices she still had pending to make and i think it took about 20 to 25 min. That was too much and had i known how long it would take i would not have stayed. Manager needs to do a better staffing job on weekends and this is California… lots of warm and hot days still.

Yummy!!! Great shaved ice with ice cream in the middle. I had the root beer float-​very tasty!!! The portions are very generous. The shop is cute, cozy and clean. Very nice and courteous Employees.
I can’t wait to go back and try another flavor.

I’ve loved this place since they were at their other location. I’m actually happy to know that they are right across from the Brea mall now. My favorite topping is the confessed milk. My guilty pleasure.

Super slow service felt bad for the lonely worker, who ever makes the schedule should be fired. Oahu’s shaved Ice has gone down hill since the lost their Fullerton location.

Only 1 worker means very slow service. That’s not good. I probably won’t return due to that. Waited about 20+ minutes between walking in and getting product. Worker had to take orders and make all the product. Also was excited to get espresso because the menu looked enticing. However for some reason they close the bakery in the afternoon and in turn stop all coffee service.
It appears the place is short staffed.
Otherwise, shave ice was pretty good but due to service issues, probably not worth a visit for me again.

I’ve been to the Yorba linda location but I’m glad they made one closer to me. It is inside a little bakery do might be hard to spot. Their shave ice is on point and I usually get it with pineapple coconut ice cream with the shave ice. POG and tigers blood are my top flavors to get with mango or blue hawaiin. Definitely recommend especially on them hot days

Of course I agree with the deliciousness of this place! But my review is mainly for the very hardworking young lady that served us! She was absolutely gracious; greeting with hello, saying good bye and thank you to everyone who left all while filling tons of orders!

Very good ice cream with shaved ice. I got the Banana Foster with wild monkey syrup, vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup on top. Come after 2pm if you want shaved ice. Try to get a kids size because portions are big. Love that they are playing Wicked music right now. Matches the homely décor.

Pretty slow service. There was only one girl making ice and taking orders. I felt bad but had to wait 10 min to make an order while she was filling out other orders. There is no music playing. It’s a little too silent other than the ice shaver going off once in a while.
The shave ice was amazing. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Shaved ice with condensed milk tastes great. Loved the passion fruit. The tiger blood and watermelon is a little to sweet for me. The ice shaving are very small and they don’t put too much syrup where your just drinking syrup at the end but still eating it with ice.

They moved locations, from the previous location in Fullerton. Now, they share space with another business (Ikneadlove). This can be a bit confusing.
I ordered a large Root Beer Float, and my sister ordered a small, The Kid. Mine was good, but my sister did not enjoy hers as much as she would have liked.
We used to frequent the Fullerton location, which had a larger menu. At this location, all of the Oahu Style Combos have vanilla ice cream except the Sweet Sunshine, which comes with coconut pineapple ice cream. This was sort of a disappointment because The Kid used to come with bubble gum ice cream.
On the whole, the items at Oahu are decent. The Customer service displayed by the employees is superb. The drawback is the scaling down of the menu and the awkward location that is shared with another business.

this is fabulous! the mix of shaved ice and ice cream in the OAHU STYLE COMBO is a match made in HEAVEN! I always enjoyed 50⁄50 bars as a kid, but this place has made this ice cream desert a grown up approach.

As close as you can get on the «mainland». Abrey (sorry if I misspelled) greeted us, on the hotest day of the week. We had a Groupon for some shave ice. She recommended the Oahu P.O.G. (passion fruit, orange, and guava) ONO!!!
This store used to be in Fullerton and now in Brea.
I didn’t see if they offer azuki beans, a real Hawaiian shave ice will have them.
Think next time we go I’ll wear my Matsumotos shirt and pretend I’m in Haleiwa

A secret find! You can find Oahu Shave Ice located a few shops in between Lamps Plus and the 99 Cents store. They have many flavors of shaved ice, and I got the Lilo and Stitch which the staff recommended to me. Portions are big so the small size was more than enough for me. There is also plenty of indoor seating. This is definitely a rare find in the area and I would definitely come back to try other flavors.

I loved it when they we’re located in Fullerton. Now they move to brea and thought I’d stop by dice I was near by. To my surprise its now a coffee shop too. I was a bit confusing. Although the shaved ice and ice cream is as good as ever I was take back that their prices when up significantly. But will be visiting when ever I’m in brea. I took two stars for the price change. The customer service is still very good and the cashiers are friendly

THEY MOVED!!! So glad we found them! On Imperial, a few store fronts from Lamps Plus. They are settling in or sharing space with a coffee shop/​bakery. Same GREAT shaved ice and close to downtown brea and the mall!

Oahu Fullerton moved to Brea, inside the iKneadLove bakery. My husband and I used to love the Fullerton location, so we were sad when they moved. The iKneadLove bakery is cute, but its interior doesn’t match the Oahu motif. It feels strange to have the two eateries together. The shaved ice is still awesome, though. We hope in the future they have bigger signage, and the interior of the bakery can accommodate the charm of the original Oahu location… Or please come back to Fullerton!
