They sayid they open at 10 on website but when I went there they said they open at 11 so I had to go back. I found this to be extremely disappointing because I was looking to start my day off with a nice fresh bowl of Poké before I went to school. After the disappointment I came back during the night after my classes were over to get a tuna poké bowl. The service seemed like they were slightly annoyed and did not want to be bothered. Also the portions seemed a little small and stingy compared to other places. I am paying $ 13 for a large so I am expecting both quantity and quality. I would definitely recommend another place hands down.

I never really write reviews but after experiencing the things I had just read about in most recent review, I felt the need to echo. This place is incredibly stingy with their fish portions! I got a regular and they gave me about 2 – 3 pieces per kind. Though the toppings and sauces offered a nice and different variety compared to other places, at the end of the day, it’s about the poke. Whats the point of the sauces and toppings if theres nothing to coat them or eat them with? I highly doubt I will ever come back, even if poke in North OC is sparse.

There is a Poki Monster rightly my house in tustin, and I frequent there! It’s delicious, fresh, and plenty of food! I was in the area of the Brea location, and was excited to eat some great food. I was severely disappointed and rather upset when my bowl was built in front of me. The staff here was so stingy with the portions, I left with half(no exaggeration) of what I usually get at the tustin location. Each fish item I got, I was literally given 3 pieces of. It was laughable. I will not go back to this location, because someone there is telling the employees to give out very little food. Figure it out, Poki Monster Brea. You’re the only one doing this.

Staff is super friendly, it was my first time trying this poke bowl type of place and I absolutely loved it! I was very impressed with the variety of options they have to add to your bowls. Also, I loved the quantity of food you get for the price! The portions are great and the food is not overpriced. The food here is a healthier option and I’m very excited that it isn’t far from my home! I will definitely be returning.

The idea(chipotle style.)is ok. but it’s not like poke I expected. The food is not bad. but that’s it. Fish isn’t fresh enough… and too many choices(fish, toppings and sauce.) Less is better… and freshness is the most important thing in this case…

Approximately three weeks ago I passed by this place and decided to try it with my best friend. When we entered, we didn’t really know what to do… then we looked at the signs. lol. It’s very simple. You just pick what you want and they assemble the bowls for you. Easy enough. My favorite sauce to add to my Poki is ponzu and sesame oil. My goodness is this place delicious. My best friend and I have literally come to this place every Wednesday for the past three weeks! We are going to be customers for life! *BONUS* they play gooooood throwback music. The vibe in there is super chill. My friends and I literally stayed there for two hours the last time we went because of the music!

This is another one of those poki joints that has started to pop up around Orange County. Nothing special. The fish seems to be fresh but not the freshest, and the toppings are given generously. As far as service goes, they could learn a thing or two about efficiency; the burrito makers of chipotle are much quicker. There is a large number of sides such as: avocado, ginger, crabmeat, cucumber, green onion, seaweed salad, edamame, cilantro, and pineapple. The décor is nice and themed appropriately, but the music really takes away from the food. The owner must really like early 2000’s R&B or something, because that’s all I’ve heard. Listening to intense soulful music is not what I would want to enjoy a light-hearted bowl of poki too, but that’s just my opinion. Overall, not bad, not the best, still would come here though for a solid lunch.

Mediocre. I was super excited about a new poke spot opening up in north OC(they seem to be popping up everywhere these days) but it was just ok. Poki Monster is Chipotle style where you choose your base, fish, unlimited toppings and sauce. Pick from regular(3 scoops of fish) or large(5 scoops). They skimp hardcore on the fish but pack your bowl with toppings. I probably won’t be coming back as I have my go-to poke spots. I hate to do this but check out Kawamata in Dana Point or Jus Poke in Redondo Beach. YOUWILLGETALLPOKE. They don’t mess around.

First timer! I usually go to Pokinometry down in Anaheim, so I thought it would be nice to go somewhere else for a change. The service is definitely awkward. It wasn’t welcoming, maybe it’s night time? I don’t know. No smiling or anything. Just tell them what you want and leave. Food was pretty on point. Seafood was fresh and the flavor of the poki sauce was good. This place is for sure one of the many poki places I would consider to satisfy my craving.

Pokimonster is like Chipotle, but with poke and sans E. Coli. You have a bowl with rice/salad/or both, and you select whatever toppings you want. I love coming here because they have raw scallop(so good) and a variety of sauces. They also don’t skimp on the fish so every bite you take has fish it. Make sure you get a loyalty card — after nine bowls your tenth bowl is free! Pricing here is pretty standard for your typical poke place. The regular order is $ 8.95, which gets you 3 scoops of fish. The large order is $ 11.95 which gets you 5 scoops of fish.

I love poke but this was my first poke(not poki) only restaurant. I was a little skeptical about the whole concept — a poke Chipotle or Chipoke. :) But for a relatively healthy and light lunch, a poke bowl hits the spot. You select from white and brown rice or salad and choose 3(regular) or 5(large) scoops of fish(tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, scallops, cooked shrimp and albacore). The scoops are tiny but they do give you a bigger scoop than the actual scooper. You then complete your bowl from a variety of toppings and sauces. The first time I had a regular and was not completely satisfied. The 2nd time I got a large for $ 11.95 but was completely full. I found the fish and all the ingredients to be fresh. The service was friendly and patient. These places are popping up everywhere. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

Came back for lunch. Got kind of a different vibe. It was very crowded and the line was long. i understand that the workers wanted to get people in and out but the way they were serving people was kind of rude. The first person in the line of making the bowls would beckon the customer to come to the front even if they were very far from the beginning of the line. The fish was still good but the rice was very hard and dried out. Probably under cooked.

Located on Lambert and Brea, Poki Monster was a bit of a drive for my half hour lunch break. I am glad I stopped by because it’s going to be a great option when I feel like taking a longer lunch. For my 3 scoop regular(~$ 9), I got Base: brown rice and salad Fish: salmon, tuna, and bay scallop Topping: everything except ginger and pineapple Sauce: volcano #1(mild) Finish: sesame seeds and furikake Service was efficient, and you can be in and out very quick. The fishes tasted fresh and were decently portioned. The toppings felt a bit skimpy, but the large variety made up for it. I liked that they have shredded seaweed as a topping which is not common at other poke places. Get a stamp card, and the 10th poke bowl is free.

Mmmm tasty! Wow, really liked the fresh seafood and mix of flavored, sauces and ingredients! Got a regular poke size bowl for $ 8.95. You get three fish to choose from and I got the tuna, salmon, and the yellowtail. All were fresh and the amount was decent. For the base I got brown rice and got all the toppings and ll the sauces including volcano 3 which is the hottest of the three volcano options. Wow, tasty! The place itself is cozy and located in the Seven Eleven strip mall at the corner of Lambert and Brea blvd. Service is fast, courteous, and friendly. Just one minor thing, it would be awesome if they had Hawaiian shaved ice!

Desperately looking for something good to eat around Brea(halfway point between my gbig and me), I found Poki Monster on our good olé friend, Unilocal, with decent reviews. FOOD l 3 I ordered the large bowl(5 scoops for $ 11.95) with half brown rice and half salad. Next, I chose my fishes(spicy salmon, salmon, spicy tuna, tuna, and scallops). Then they added what I think was seasame oil and you add your toppings(however many you want!). I decided to get everything but the tomatoes and pineapple with ponzu sauce and a container of spicy mayo on the side. While the portion, with the toppings, were bountiful, the cuts of the poke were small and mushy and the flavors weren’t really there. I couldn’t taste the«spicy» flavor of the two spicy salmon and tuna at all. However, with the ponzu sauce and some of the toppings, the meal tasted alright, but I think poke will be better off with fewer items; less is better in this case. Lesson learned hahah AMBIENCE l 4 Parking spaces are lacking, but Poki Monster is a clean establishment. Perhaps I missed some monster designs on the wall, but I’m not sure what the name«monster» has to do with the store(but I admit, it’s a cute name) PRO: — good sized portions — lots of toppings e.g. Avocado, imitation crab, seaweed salad, etc CON: — meh quality poke — pricey — not too many parking spaces VERDICT: It’s way too far for me to go out of my way to order and I don’t think I’ll ever be craving and insisting on getting poke here. On a side note, can someone please point me to a direction toward good food around Brea? I’ve had such disappointing experiences with food every time I visit the area.

I was actually disappointed in this place. My bowl looked like a straight mess. Service was also not cool… I got a regular bowl which came with 3 scoops of fish. The scoops were pretty small. After you chose your fish they mix it in a bowl with SOMUCHSAUCE in it. The girl didn’t even tell me which sauces it was. My guess was sesame oil and ponzu? After she mixed it, she straight smashed the fish on top of the rice/salad. You can add as many toppings as you want on it and they ask if you want more sauce. That’s honestly a lot of sauce. Right in the middle of the girl putting on my toppings after I told her what I wanted, she had a full conversation with the lady in front of me. Disappointed and annoyed. The taste of the fish had waaaay too much sauce and the brown rice was pretty hard. Fish quality was just okay. The water also tasted funny. I love poke, and compared the other places I have been to, this place is definitely not as good. Parking also sucks in this plaza. Sorry

Located right next to an autozone and 7 – 11, Poki Monster is a pretty solid place to satisfy your poke craving. I’ll simply list out the pros and cons: Pros: — Good amount of food for the price. — Lots of different toppings to choose from: cucumber, ginger, furikake, avocado, imitation crab, masago(fish eggs), fresh seaweed, green onion, sesame seed and nori. The best part is that you can add ALL of these items for no extra charge… so do it! Cons: — Stick with the white/brown rice and salad. The nacho chips didn’t look too good. — Make sure to advise them to take it easy on the ponzu. In the end, I really enjoyed my meal as I feel I got my monies worth(did I mention that portion sizes are nice?). Not the best nor freshest poke around, but still a 4 star establishment.

Since I didn’t pack my lunch today, I decided to try this new poki place around my work. The restaurant is in the middle of no where and easily to be missed but parking was great. The instructions on how to purchase a bowl was clear and pretty similar to other poki joints I have been to. You pick your carb, your fish, your toppings, then the sauce. Done. I decided to go with 5 fish with no rice or salad, it’s just how I like to eat my poki. The girl was super nice and told me she would give me 10% off for no carb. I got 2 scoops of tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, and scallop. The fish itself was cut a little too small and hard to define after everything was mixed together. Matter of fact, not identifiable at all except the scallop. I am not saying it should be huge chunks but just a little bit bigger would be great. The topping portion was generous. I used ponzu and spicy mayo together which gave a very balanced taste for me. Overall it’s a pretty good lunch packed with portein. I also got a free drink because the line was a little long and they wanted to let me know they appreciated my business. They also have punch card for frequent customers. Much better place compare to that over hyped place in Anaheim. Will return for sure.

This review is on the basis of having gone to many of the local poke spots in the greater LA and OC areas and seeing what the standard for quality poke. Generally this place is sufficient to run a good poke bowl, but doesn’t go beyond the fray of making itself different. There’s totally nothing wrong with the place, it is just not the best of the bunch out there. I ordered a large poke bowl with salmon, spicy salmon, albacore, and scallop. They offer all the standard fixings like crab mix, seaweed, avocado, and furikake. They offer as well a variety of sauces relative to spicy, shoyo, and mayo based. One difference that probably most arent used to is that the sauces arent mixed into with the fish. the sauces are just poured over. the problem with that is doesnt fully enhance the poke flavor that way and doesnt give the best overall satisfaction. You can however get as much sauces per request. The rice i got could have been a little softer, but thats just a personal preference. One good thing is the servers did ask if we had any personal opinions of the place and we did tell them our opinions of the same matter. I like that because they are new and they are trying to improve. i might comeback and itll be a better poke place. I did overall get a satisfying experience, but easy to tell there are more possibilitiea for this place. Thank you for the meal.

Poki meets Chipotle at Poki Monster. It sits in a small Plaza with a poster hanging over its store. Only opened 6 days a week. I haven’t been to many poki places so I don’t have much room to compare, but I think this place is great. For $ 8.95 I can get the regular bowl with three scoops of fish, toppings and sauces. I got spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and albacore. All toppings are free and certain ones have a fee to get EXTRA. Get the poki sauce and ponzu… and spicy mayo! Deliciousness. I got half salad and brown rice for the base. It’s definitely enough for me. I actually have to save half for later. The scoops of fish are kind of small, but in the end-worth it. Check it out before it gets popular and the line’s out the door! The Plaza is kind of small, but there was ample parking
