Pros: nice staff, newer weight machines, nice views from the cardio room.
Cons: hot, small, the weight room is across the entire facility from the cardio room, the track is upstairs away from everything else, paper towels to wipe down machines.

The YMCA has moved away from a great place for kids to go. My kids hate to go to the Y now since they remodeled. When the Y have a program for kids, they ask for extra money. They need to add value to kid who doesn’t play basketball with the grown ups.

I’m a super fan of this place. It has been good for my soul, self esteem, and physical self. I started going here after the birth of my second child and found myself staring at 200 pounds on the scale and being 5′ 3″ I had entered the dreaded «obese» status. It was hard to set foot in a gym feeling like a fat loser but I found that the staff was so friendly and wonderful. They genuinely care and pointed me in the right directions on how to use the machines and where to even start. I love the classes. Especially zumba and spinning. The teachers are all upbeat and the more I go the more results I see and I’ve made friends with some staff and fellow loyal Y gym rats. I feel the y is like a family to me. The childwatch staff is great with my children. I feel 100% safe leaving my kiddies there while I go work out and I have to say as a mother who’s husband is deployed half the year I need a break from the kids time to time and that’s what i get at the Y. Whether I want to work up a sweat or just walk the track listening to a podcast I can do so blissfully KID FREE!!! Plus with all of the remodeling and upgrades and new machines what more can you ask for. I love my Y. Plus the gym is never super packed so I don’t have to wait for machines.

I love this gym. I go to this gym daily for 1 – 2 hours and love the classes (try kickboxing MIX, RIPPED, Zumba or cycling!) because the instructors are always shakin it up and bringing something new to challenge you. The equipment in the cardio room is the exact same as the Haslewood YMCA and the weight room is good too. I love the fact that I never have to fight for parking, and that the staff really make an effort to get to know the patrons and make improvements on their services. Only gripe would be that child watch is not the same hours as the other YMCA’s so be sure to look up the hours on the weekends before heading out. But other than that I cannot complain. So if your looking for a gym check it out. you won’t be sorry!

I love this place! The people are a community, the staff and instructors are phenomenal. They have good, quality step and yoga classes. The most amazing class is Sunday afternoons: Pilates Fusion with Lucretia. Also a shout out to Joyce the queen of step!

This monolith of a place is bittersweet. I’ve been to 4 gyms now and have been weight training for 15 years, lately 6 days a week, 2 hrs minimum daily.
First the good: The machines are wonderfully new and smooth working. The place is v. clean. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. Tons of other splendid programs for those interested — just weights for me, thank you.
No bad — just the ugly. I have never seen worse «gym etiquette/​manners» than here. Most times the weight area is chock-​a-​block with hoards of immature, self-​centered, puerile, callow dullards who care only about their own spoiled selves. Every day I count at least 5 unused machines with weights still on them because these ignorant prats are too uncaring to think of others. I have been doing my «duty» by re-​racking these weights for these pinheads, but I feel like I’m trying to dry the ocean up with a sponge. When I see someone (with a working brain) who does re-​rack his/​her weights I try to walk up and thank them for their service. Sadly, they are a rare breed indeed.
The Y staff is quite sympathetic to my complaints, and are even ordering some needed ancillary equipment for the weight area per my suggestion. I don’t mean to trash the place despite it’s getting more crowded by the day. The Y has the potential to be a fabulous community asset. The fault is not with the Y, but with it’s ignorant, selfish junior weight lifters. Wish they’d realize that mommy isn’t here to coddle and clean up after them.

I use to go here, I don’t like the fact there isn’t enough treadmills, and the weights in the weightroom are old they need to update the place, the staff might be friendly but thats about it, I think kitsap county needs a 24hr fitness or something then watch these places lose members fast…

This is the best gym deal in town. Where else can you get access to: pool, hot tub, sauna, racquetball courts, basketball courts, weight room, aerobic room, indoor track and free classes (martial arts, spinning, aerobics, etc) not to mention day care for the little one and all for under $ 100/​mo?
You can’t.

Reasonable and not very crowded. I go to the gym to workout not to people watch so this is the gym for me. Not to say that some attractive people don’t go here… that’s just not the reason why I go.
They just recently updated all of their weightlifting equipment and the trainers here are free. You just have to schedule an appointment. It’s a great deal.
Just don’t tell your friends. I like my gym the way it is. I can go anytime of day and not have to wait for machines. I hate crowded gyms. So now I’m wondering why I am writing this and telling all of you what a great place it is?
