Uptown Barbershop

My first visit and I just got a great beard and buzz from Hannah. I’m terrible at explaining what I want so I had some second thoughts about how she styled my beard the first time; she went right back to work and slaved over my beard for another hr, straight razor, edges, nice line up, and good taper into the head. She got it perfect! I’m very satisfied. Hannah is a fantastic artist. It was only $ 20!

Are you KIDDING me? Barber was Kamal, who didn’t listen to a word that came out if my mouth, apparently. I showed a picture and described as best as I could what should be done, and he followed none of it. I am not a picky person and I know hair is just hair, but SERIOUSLY?!? Worst haircut experience I’ve had, this guy clearly does not care about customer satisfaction. On a side note, I have been here before with wonderful service, the other barbers are great. I’ll be back in 6 months when the hair he chopped off grows back again.

I must say that this was the best experience I’ve had in a barbershop in a VERY long time!
Things to know when you go, and you should! This is NOT a production shop, they take their time, listen to the customer’s request and then they pamper… you will not be in and out of the chair in five minutes, so be prepared to relax a bit.
There is a black board behind the door, depending on the line, it’s probably best to put your name on the board.
They do have beer available while you wait… but you will probably need to ask.
The give discounts to active duty military.
Seating can be tight, making a reservation will be helpful… it may take a bit for them to answer the phone, so be patient.
You actually get a razor shave to your neck, after the haircut.
They demonstrate genuine concern for your happiness, you will not be disappointed.

A great barbershop. It’s a popular place, so get your name on the list and enjoy the people or go across the street and have a drink. Great haircuts and shaves, always spot on. Prices are low for the high quality and authentic barbers that you won’t find at the chain places. It reminds me of the town barbershop where I grew up, with much prettier barbers :)

The more I go to this place the less I like it. The hair cut is never bad but the experience, very often, is. my latest experience has pushed me over the edge of probably never going back. I called to see how long the wait was. The only man that works there answered the phone and said an hour from now would be good. I came in an hour later to a packed place and one of the ladies said they were booked up for the day. I mentioned how I spoke to the man and he said come in around 2. She said they don’t take appointments on Sundays and he said that he said no such thing on the phone. I said alright thanks and walked out, likely for the last time ever.

Been in there twice now, and have gotten great haircuts both times. You can call in to make an appointment on the day-​of, otherwise it’s totally on a first-​arrival basis. Compared to what I’ve experienced elsewhere, the prices are very good for what you get. The music they play is also right up my alley, so it helps pass the time and make for good small talk. I will keep coming back, for sure.

Great retro-​nouveau ambiance. The hippest barber shop around. Proprietor Kellie provides a great deal of the scenery along with a quick wit and sardonic humor. She’s an accomplished artist as well. Enough barbers to allow you to try a few and end up with the one that you’re comfortable with. I always look forward to my time here.

Went in on a Monday morning and got the chubby dude to cut my hair. He seemed a little mad so I started to small talk. He responded with one word responses. Asked for a blade on my hard part. He argued with me about military regs. He buzzed the hard part didn’t blade Nor did he line me up. Time to pay and it totaled to 23 bucks. I didn’t tip cuz of his attitude and the fact that last time I only payed 17. He made a scene in front of customers and asked for my name. I don’t know, maybe he had an argument with his BF that morning. Will go back to get the owner to cut my hair she does an amazing job. But very unprofessional of that chubby gay dude.

Awesome experience, I think Alicia cut my hair, did a great job and gave me exactly what I asked for, with great attention to detail as well. Thanks! I don’t look like a messy hobo anymore, I’ve been to two other barbers and this place is hands down much better, 100%

Good spot. Just keep in mind it’s a popular spot, so strolling in on a mid day Sunday will most likely give you a 90+ hour wait time. Unless there a no show. I appreciated the time spent in the chair. I’m to vain to think a haircut should take under 30 mins.

My boyfriend gets his haircut here and has been for a while. Every time it comes out great! The only reason I’m writing the review is after looking at some of the other reviews for people who didn’t have a good experience. People have off days don’t throw this place away because you had one bad experience. All the barbers are talented and they all have strong points in their own way. If you got a bad cut by 1 barber don’t discount them all go back and try a different barber maybe you just didn’t get along with the barber you had. Like I said everyone has their strong points maybe the next barber you try will be the one you need. This place is worth a second chance if your first experience wasn’t what you wanted. It’s a privately owned business so the money you spend here goes back into the town and other establishments in the area!

Awesome place with awesome cuts. I got a gentleman’s fade it’s the best I’ve had yet. Elias took his time cutting it but that’s better than rushing a hair cut and getting a s****y one. Definitely recommended for AD seeing as it’s right down the street from PSNS.

I’ve been here multiple times and had different barbers each time. They all do a great job, are very personable and engaging. Call ahead for an appointment if time is an issue since there is usually 1 or 2 people waiting. Prices are reasonable and well worth it; they listen to what you want and always do better than i expect. I will keep returning here and support this local business.

We must have gone on an off day because we didn’t have a very nice experience. When we arrived, 10 minutes after they opened, the closed sign was still up and 2 stylists were sitting inside. They reluctantly let us in and proceeded to not speak to my husband and I for his entire haircut. I tried to bring up a couple topics and even asked a few direct questions and just got silence in response. I had our 1 year old daughter with me and thought that, since it’s clearly not a kid’s haircut sort of place, perhaps just the mere presence of a child was making them uncomfortable, so I took her outside. My husband reported that they didn’t speak to him or any of the other customers even after I took the baby out.
There is an interesting wall of rocker/​nude/​editorial magazine type art to look at, but the silence was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. They seem to be going for a bad ass, attitude, alternative, kind of ambiance, but I think they took it a little too far this morning.

Talented staff, great service, authentic atmosphere, this is a downtown gem. I get a hot shave here with Jennifer and she always does a fantastic job. Another, what seems to be, successful business in Downtown. We need more places like this drawing people in!

Chocking my previous experience to a rainy day. After an early afternoon cut with Kellie, my impression of the shop is completely different. She was more than proficient with a straight razor and gave me a spot-​on mob cut with a side etch and shaved my sides and nape with a razor that remained joyously blood-​free (way more common than you’d think, btw). They have a solid choice in product with big plans on the way as well.
New advice? Plan your visit better. There seems to be a pretty dramatic shift in the shop environment depending on which time of day you go. I’d hands-​down recommend a cut from Kellie or any of the girls who work the day shift!

YAY! Found a barbershop for my husband! We both liked the laid back kind of rocker atmosphere it didn’t feel stuffy. The gal who cut his hair and trimmed up his beard/​stache did a great job, he looks so handsome all cleaned up! I can’t remember her name but she was very nice, and the price of $ 28 for hair cut with straight razor plus facial hair was super fair. The last couple «barbershops» he’d been to basically gave him a military style cut, and butchered his facial hair so we are soooo happy to have found this shop! We went 2 – 3 weeks ago and he still looks fresh :)

At 19 I never thought I would set foot in a barbershop again. Thank God for acme barbershop. They got my beard all tuned up and the straight razor shave for my head. Thanks guys. I will definitely be back.

They’ve added some new places at acme and they have terrific skill with shears. Joel now cuts my hair on account of Kevin staying over at the Seattle shop.
This is your non-​typical «cheers» type place… It is nice to have that sort of community shop in downtown Bremerton.
This is the only place I get my haircut.
