Bacchini’s Fruit Tree

I actually wasn’t impressed by the fruit sweetness. I’ve had better fruit sweetness (stone fruit) from a farmer at the Farmer’s market at CSM.
$ 4/​pound for peaches
No bench seating to eat
Plenty of places to eat around this area.

Went there and picked plums and apricots. Staff was friendly and I left just in time. It was quite busy around 10 am. If I stayed any later, it would have been too crowded for my taste.
Other fruit available to be picked were loquats, raspberries, and pluots.

Nice place with a good variety, friendly staff and good location. The prices were a little high. I can get the same quality fruit at a good grocery store for the same price without all the work. Luckily, the «work» is fun, especially when you go with family you enjoy being with! Overall, I’d go again because it is a fun family experience.

Ask the attendant in the front, she told me that the farm is not organic but they did not spray pesticide. Got lots of nectarine and white peach. And this place take credit card so that’s a plus because most places are cash only. They also have blackberries but it is tough to pick with the torns

Only a 11am and they were closed. They said its all picked and only selling at the stand. So sad… one of the reason i drove here to get some loquat.

Yeap says 8:00 am — 5:00 pm, but they may close before 12pm on a weekend day, which was what I found out today, after 1.5 hour of driving. Maybe they should consider setting up a Twitter account to tell people when they actually close each day. My kids were disappointed. Fortunately we found other orchards nearby that were still open.

Great place. They have loquats, apricots, and berries, as well as walnuts and local honey.

We went there this Sunday. They have loquats apricot ready for u pick. A little crowded in my mind. $ 5/​lb for loquats and $ 4/​lb for apricot.

So we walk up to the gate and the guy says they are closed. Fair enough even though it is 2PM. As we are standing there he lets several people in. What??? So my wife starts talking to him and tells him several of our friends are waiting for us inside. He says you don’t know how many times I’ve heard that one! I then piped in, you think we are going to lie to you just to pick fruit. I explained that we drove 2 hours to have a play date for the kids to pick fruit. He then goes into a rant on how people pick fruit and throw it on the ground and how he doesn’t even like to let people in. I said I could care less if we pick any fruit, it is just fun for the kids to run around. I’m not asking him to get in mind you, then out of the blue he says ok go in. I said thank you sincerely and proceeded to walk in with my family. He then said something to the effect of I didn’t call you a liar after I walked past and I said «sounded like you called me a liar». So this guy then flips out and says «That’s it, get out!» I turned around to confront him and looked at my son and just said to myself, let it go and politely walked out. Lesson learned: I don’t need to get the last word in. Especially at my son’s expense… Guess what, our imaginary friends saw us walking back to the car and ran over to say hi. Their kids tried to give my son a couple apricots through the gate but I told them that was stealing and made them take them back. Their parents asked if we wanted them to buy some for us and I said I wouldn’t eat their fruit for free at this point. We went down the road and picked some peaches. So for the owners, you might want to get the escaped mental patient away from manning the gates. (Maybe he is the owner?) I’ll never patronize your establishment again and will tell others to do the same.

UPDATE: We came back the next week and found some really great fruit. It’s expensive but it tastes amazing. The lessen here was don’t come after 10am or else be prepared to sit in traffic and fight people for fruit.
We came here today and this was such a massive waste of time. Unfortunately this review isn’t really for this orchard but the massive mess surrounding it. First, it took 30
Minutes just to get to the orchard from less than a mile away. There was absolutely no parking and on top of that, the people who came on this particular day were the worst group of people I could have ever asked for.
First, we get out of the car to a guy who was yelling at an Indian guy for being too close to his car. He started yelling at him that he should kick his ass and he proceeded to tell a whole lot of offensive garbage at him as loud as he could. He said some nonsense like– I am reporting you to the department of homeland security and I know about what your people did on ⁹⁄₁₁. It was very strange, but it was more strange considering that the guy did nothing wrong and was also Indian. On top of that, the guy yelling at him was Asian. Not that the race of these people really matters in any sense but I couldn’t understand why this guy was being so offensive out loud when that had nothing to do with anything.
On top of this amazing experience, when we got to the farm, they were closed and all picked out.
This place would be fine during the early morning when everyone is sleeping, avoid at all costs in the afternoon!
If they gave away free stuff I wouldn’t come back! What a waste of a day to walk away with nothing.

It was mid May and was so excited for some cherries. I called before and asked for hours and if they were available but they didn’t have any cherries! So sad. I did pick apricots, peaches and pluots which were good. Make sure to call ahead and ask and go end of April and beginning of May. It gets busy with traffic around 9 – 930. You don’t need to bring bags but wear sneakers. They accept credit cards here too! I didn’t think I got much but I dropped $ 35 easy. If you follow signs for mike’s farm, they got cherries!

I’m giving this place 4 stars even though I went home with my family pretty much empty handed.
We drove 50 miles out here in hopes of picking loquats, but unfortunately, they were all gone.
Pros:

Cons:
No permanent restrooms, the porta-​potties get VERY HOT and smelly. –1 star for this
Having to sign a waiver or something before going in, I didn’t read the 2^nd half
Only water washing station is at the entrance, there should be more than one

My friends and I visited Bacchini’s Fruit Tree two weekends ago and we had a great time eating and picking loquats and plums.
5 minutes before we decided to call it a day, I took out my phone and checked in on Unilocal and found out about the 10% discount. Thanks, Bacchini!

Got here before 10:30 a.m. and it was perfect! It wasn’t too crowded and wasn’t overly picked. When we left 45 minutes later, the parking lot was packed and there were floods of people.
Don’t forget to check in with your phone to get 10% discount!

This is a late post but Bacchinis fruit stand is awesome. We visited in June picked berries and cherries. So many trees so there’s enough for everyone. This place was pretty busy but so big you aren’t walking on anyone else’s toes. I also like that you are only paying for the fruit. No entry into the fields.
I’d give this place 5 stars of they required deodorant. During summer seasons people passing you by in sweaty stench isn’t so kosher!

Unfortunately, second week of June is already too late for cherry picking so my family and I settled with humongous blackberries, as well as plums. Lemme tell you though, the blackberries stole the show cause they were incredibly sweet. I was picking and eating at the same time, so by the end of that picking I was already full. Haha! Be careful picking those blackberries though because those frikken thorns hurt! I would’ve liked it better if there were more rows of blackberries (there were only 2), so we really had to peek into the vines to get the berries.
In the end, we ended up with about $ 38 worth of blackberries, a pretty good tan, lost some calories from sweating, and a 6-​second walk to the parking lot. Hahah. It was a good experience.

We went there yesterday assuming we could still pick some cherry since it’s only May. Unfortunately, there were NO CHERRY anymore! We picked some peach that’s about it. But the peach was sweet.
If you are looking to pick cherry from them, maybe next year?

I came here with some coworkers to do some fruit picking. It’s been awhile, so I can’t remember specifics, but the staff was nice and handed us a basket to pick whatever we wanted.
Hands down, the BEST plums I’ve ever had.

It’s summer and that means it’s BERRY SEASON! Specifically cherries, which is the favorite fruit of my family. Came here the wknd of June 2^nd to try and score some hand-​picked goodies for some family and friends.
FRUIT
— Cherries: Slight bummer because they were already out of cherries by the time we came. I think this year’s rain affected the cherries, because they ran out super quick!
— White peaches: very sweet! You gotta look for the firm ones, because that’s when they’re perfectly ripe. However this year’s wasn’t very big.
PRICE
— $ 2.50/lb, which is a bit expensive but you’re pretty much paying for the experience.
PARKING
Although it’s free, it’s kind of a mad house to squeeze in. Just be aware when it’s the weekend and you may need to wait in a line for a bit.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ah, this is where the dark cloud appeared during this sunny day. You should never insult customers _​anywhere_​. I came with a large group of family and friends, and we had about 4 buckets between us. However, a male staff member very rudely approached us and claimed that we «already ate 15 lbs of fruit and we should start moving to the front of the orchard to pay because this is not an all-​you-​can-​eat buffet.» WHOA THERE BUDDY, you need to calm down. I understand the orchard is a business and you need to make a profit. But you can clearly see we had buckets of fruit ready to be purchased. Why hassle us then?
CONCLUSION
I’d try to come back earlier in the season to catch cherries. But I will probably go to another orchard that is more friendly!

Just picked this morning. DEFINITELY come early! We drove up around 10 am and there was already a line to get into the parking lot.
Pro-​tip for blackberries: a lot of people walk by and glance at the outer part of the plants and poo poo them for not being ripe. To find ripe ones, you have to take time to bend down and look UP into the vines and you’ll see a ton of super big and ripe ones hanging out underneath leaves! Gingerly use the leaves to pull aside the vines and get the good ones inside. We saw multiple people walk by the blackberry areas and complain about non-​ripeness, but then marvel at how many we had. You just have to be patient and look carefully!
We got lots of really sweet blackberries, and some sweet crunchy white peaches. All the workers we interacted with were super nice, friendly, and helpful.
