John’s greatest forteit has to be his ability to make accoomplished ridersout of children. His kind nature and keen sense of humor makes him accessible to kids and adults alike. If you were around in the early ’70’s, and into rodeo, you might have caught a glimpse of the«Witch». Well, that would be John. To hear his stories of his rodeo days, is reason enough to train with John, If not just for his superior skill with horses. I still laugh when thinking back to one his stories. His wife, Shelley is a doll. But don’t let that fool you. She is heck-a-va barrel racer. On the Pro circuit, she also trains barrel horses, and gives lessons. Their ranch is in, what I think, is the prettiest parts of Contra Costa county. Located on Marsh Creek rd., is is a short distance to a staging area for riding, hiking and biking.
