The Auto Doctor

I have been coming to the Auto Doctor for the last 15 years will all my vehicles. The whole team is amazing. They are very reasonable and have wonderful knowledge. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks Auto Doctor!

Rather than take the car to the stealership, I let Matt do the dreaded water pump/​thermostat repair on my BMW 335i. The work wasn’t cheap but it was done right w/​o the hassle of going to the dealer and I got a courtesy ride to/​from my house.

We took our Jeep to the auto doctor after we have had some problems with the dealership service shop. The owner wasn’t able to figure out the problem as the problem itself disappeared but tried for multiple days to figure out what was wrong using his own time and effort. We came to pick up a car and he didn’t charge us a dime. I am so impressed with his service, we will definitely be taking our cars there again.

When your car breaks down, you’re happy to have it fixed, so you can be on the road again… and when you do business with someone, you expect to get what you paid for… Great service is bonus. Well… these guys really raised the bar.
I took my car to my mechanic a while back, and he told me that the service engine light had come on, and it’s from a faulty sensor… which is $ 80 to fix, and isn’t necessary. There was also a noise that he couldn’t get rid of, and neither could the Chevy dealership.
Well… my car breaks down– the bearing ran out of lubricant, overheated, and locked up in the middle of nowhere on I-​5. It was an expensive tow, so I wanted to make sure I towed it to a good shop. The Auto Doctor had good Unilocal Reviews, and was close to where I was staying. They gave me a fair estimate over the phone, and said they could have the car fixed by end of day if I got it in quickly. I only got it there right before closing time though.
At 9AM (opening time) I get a call from them, asking if I’d like to change my drive-​belt, as that’s what’s making that horrible noise. I said to go for it, and they said the car would be ready in 1 hour. Sure enough, a little less than an hour later, my car was ready. They even offered to give me a ride.
They were friendly, and checking out took no time at all… The price was what they had quoted me, and the car drove like a champ. In fact… now it was better than when I brought it in (not just because of the new wheel hub assembly)– that horrid noise is gone, and the check engine light is gone.
When I get back home to Austin (which, thanks to The Auto Doctor, I can drive back to), I am switching mechanic.
Meanwhile, at my urging, my parents are switching their car care over to the Auto Doctor.

I was very impressed by the integrity and work ethics of this shop. My mothers car broke down while visiting and they ran a diagnostic on her Passat. After running many tests they couldn’t determine the problem and said to take it to a dealership. They didn’t charge her for the diagnostic! Plus they were incredibly helpful explaining everything that they ruled out and apologetic for not being able to determine the problem.
The dealership had a really hard time determining what the issue was, taking days to do multiple tests. Ended up being a small leak dripping into a sensor, which would cause her engine to stall at a stop.
The integrity of the Auto Doctors makes me want to do business with them in the future.

I took my classic Camaro to Auto Doctor for major front suspension work and some manual transmission repairs and I’m very happy with the work they did. They are confident, gracious, honest and informative. Their work is excellent and they stand behind it 100%. When a problem came up with the transmission, they called right away to discuss it with me. Their integrity is above and beyond most other shops I’ve been to with any of our cars.
Being female, some shops have tried to pull a fast one on me more than once. Being a former mechanic, I always know when they are and I let them know about it.
I highly recommend Auto Doctor and I will return to him if I have any problems in the future.

I have been here two times now. Once to replace an ignition switch and once for a new battery. Both times we had a very good experience. The technician was upfront and honest about everything that was going on. Kim who works at the front desk was great! She looked up the make and model of my truck and found out it had 11 recalls on it! She printed them out and gave me the phone number to get them taken care of! She didn’t have to do that! Super nice, attentive, and friendly.

I have been with the auto doctor for over 10 years, the service, Quality and knowledge is excellent. They are very accommodating unless they are booked solid which is understandable. Major and minor repairs, not a problem.
It’s great to have an auto shop you can count on, keep up the great work.

Juat took my old junk yard truck (86 nissan kingcab) in as battery light was on. Seemed like it would need a new alternator. They were able to check it and fix it as it turned out to be a corroded wire from the battery. Fixed it right up by replacing with a new battery terminal and secondary wirings. Cost was much cheaper than an alternator would have been and just took 30 minutes. Would recoomend this place as did a quick no-​nonsense (didn’t try to have me fix anything else) fix.

I came here on a whim after smelling a perfuse amount of gas coming my car. I was In downtown Brentwood on my way to work and I was in a complete loss of where to go, not to mention my tank was running low. So by the luck of god I stumbled upon this place and am I extremely thankful I did.
Located off of Brentwood blvd next to the Ford dealer ship, tucked in back of a tire store, this place can be a little hard to find.
They were a little busy when I frantically pulled in but where able to check my care out with in a reasonable amount of time.
After a few minutes of pacing back and forth, hoping they were not going to tell me the worst, with in minutes they found the problem. They had to order the parts and being it was Friday, they said it would not be in tell Monday (understandable) Anyway, the price was far more reasonable then I had imagined and they were to true to there word saying my car would be done by Monday mid morning, not to mention they were extremely friendly (which can be very rare) especially regarding my last horrendous experience with the last so called mechanic.
They won my business and I will be back, just hopefully not any time soon :)
