Tim Horton’s is closed at 10pm! No donuts! Tim’s coffee available, via the convenience store but no fresh-baked goods. :-( Upside, they have a liquor store too. lol

I don’t drink coffee. I didn’t need gas. I don’t typically eat from Little Ceasar’s or Dairy Queen. And I’m not entirely sure what made me first pick this place to stop to pick up a bottled soda to take back to my hotel to help with morning wake up… But am I glad I did? Yep. A little backwards progress if you’re headed in the opposite direction, either for local hotels or, well, that other place that the main road off of the exit is named for, but worth the stop. At least until it turns into Tim Hortons… which [, given BK’s US tax-evading intention, even while US taxpayers subsidize their decision to pay non-livable wages to their employees(since, I mean, really, what else do we private citizens have to do with our money than subsidize multi-million dollar companies who can’t be bothered to pay even the tax liability that they can’t write off or hide while based in the US, while *bonus*(and all along) taxpayers pay for their employees’ health insurance and food support directly thru Medicaid, TANF/SNAP, and other programs, whether or not we can pay for our own food, medical care, let alone insurance), pisses me right the hell off.(Note: not pissed about contributing so families and children have food and medical care. Pissed because their employers get to base themselves in other countries and not even continue to cover the limited tax liability they hadn’t already loop-holed out of.] I won’t be visiting. Very clean, facilities-wise. Coolers and displays fairly sparkled. Staff was responsive, able to solve problems, and had incredible people skills.(Staff were effectively and kindly managing cutting off what appeared to be a frequent flier from purchasing alcohol on my recent visit. In a lot of years of life, these were the very first folks I’ve ever seen talk someone out of their booze purchase – kindly and sensitively – effectively. And I used to be a TIPs trainer, back when TIPs was a thing.) Perhaps they get lots of practice, though I refuse to believe quality encourages quantity: this gas station regularly stocks a better wine and liquor selection(and better stores /displays it) than is available in two of the three towns I regularly split my time.(I know, I’m sad about it too…) I sincerely hope this place /chain isn’t ruined by new ownership. Hope their current employees are valued, since it’s clear to me(even after three visits) that they’re valuable.

This is always a handy clean pitstop to gas up. snack up and wash up. Great snack selections inside along with a coffe shop, litle cesears, and dairy queen. Restrooms are clean and not so tiny.
