Central Square Computer Repair

I gave them an iPad screen to repair and it took them 3 months to figure out they couldn’t get a good quality screen! Not one time did they call to keep me updated. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere…

I came here for a repair I was incapable of doing myself and they did a decent enough job from what I could tell. The repair came with a 1mo (iirc) warranty and maybe some other stuff, I don’t really remember, it doesn’t matter.
Following that repair the optical drive on my laptop stopped functioning, because I rarely used it I didn’t care enough to take it back in to be fixed or bother to fix it myself. Wasn’t a big deal to me that it wasn’t working following their repair. Was a very small deal to me.
Jump forward to today. I smashed the screen on the very same laptop and was in the process of disassembling the computer to replace it. While removing the optical drive, I noticed something weird looking about the connector. Further inspection revealed that there was a piece of tape over half of the pins, preventing a connection from being made.
Pretty suspicious IMO. That tape was definitely not there before.
Not saying this was deliberate sabotage or anything, because that’s pretty paranoid. Could have been leftover from covering the port to protect from dust/​particles during repair and wasn’t removed before reinstallation of the drive.
So whether it was deliberate sabotage for more business or just an overlooked detail during the repair, c’mon step it up.

I love this place! The woman that always answers the phone is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They have excellent hours. Often times they are still there past hours which makes it very convenient for pick-​up/​drop-​off. I also find that the prices are very reasonable. I’ve had a couple of things done to my laptop and nothing has cost me over $ 100.They also have a Unilocal check-​in discount (AWESOME!). The only downside is– parking can be tough in Bridgewater center, but if you plan to go when the area is less busy you’ll easily be able to find a parking spot. I also love that they complete the work quickly and guarantee their work with a warranty. I’m not very technologically savvy, so I’d be lost without these guys and gals.

When it comes to computers I’m basically a n00b. I know as much about computer as I know about cars… I can turn it on and turn it off, and beyond that I’m novice. I sought out the advice of a friend who has built many of his own computers from scratch but even he was baffled, and he recommended Central Square Computer to me. A phone call to Chris atCentral Square was all I needed.
I was a bit apprehensive about turning my PC over to strangers; you never know who’s going to be looking under the hood. Basically your whole life is on there, term papers, financial records, pictures, movies, downloaded music, and worst of all (dun, dun, dun) your internet browsing history! I’ve heard so many horror stories about the so called «help desks» at the big box locations so I knew I didn’t want to turn to them and there are so many fly-​by-​night independent shops which I was somewhat leery of as well.
When I dropped off my PC I left feeling confident that I was in good hands. One thing that concerned me was that I didn’t want to dump hard earned cash into a box that should be in a museum or in a trash compactor. After a free diagnostic they determined my motherboard was fried and that it needed to replaced. A couple days later I was able to pick up my PC and it ran good as new.
One thing that I was really impressed by was how accommodating they were. I do not work typical your 9a-​5p hours and unfortunately most businesses are closed by 6, so it’s hard to do business. With Central Square this was NOT the case. I dropped my PC off at 9:30 PM on a weeknight and picked it up a couple days later around the same time.
Since my initial visit I’ve been recommending this place to anyone I know who has asked me where to take their computer. In fact both my cousin and even my own mother have taken their lap top and PC there.
If (and more likely when) I need assistance in the future there is only one place where I am going!

No one likes it when their computer is on the fritz. No one’s face lights up happily when the red ring of death shows up on their xbox. No one is super happy when you walk into your room only to find your fat cat or small child standing on top of your laptop, effectively crushing it. Oh, you don’t have that last problem? Lucky you then! But lucky for me, I know a great repair place. For about four years now I’ve been bringing my faulty towers, my dead xbox’s and my *cringe* crushed laptops to Central Square Computer Repair and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is always friendly and a lot of the work is actually done by the owner of the company. Chris is straight forward, friendly, and incredibly knowledgable. I consider myself tech savvy, but certainly not enough to do my own repairs. Chris takes the time to explain exactly what the issues are (diagnostics are free of charge) and goes out of his way to help you get your product back in reasonable time, at a reasonable cost. The company can be hard to find because of the set up of Central Square itself, but there is generally a sign outside to let you know where to go.

I needed a boost with my laptop and brought my computer to Central Square Computer Repair. Chris and his team over-​delivered with the entire process. The price was extremely reasonable and the repairs were completed in a timely manner. I had given clear expectations of what I hoped for when I brought my computer in and each expectation was met. I would highly recommend Central Square Computer Repair to anyone looking for quality and local work to be completed.
