Specialties

Open Road Volkswagen of Bridgewater has moved… to Route 22! We’ve got a brand new home, and we’re excited to share it with you! Heck, you’re the reason we needed more space and a bigger lot for our inventory! So, Cheers to you — Thank you for making us your neighborhood VW dealer, we won’t let you down!

Our new home is located at 1051 Route 22 in Bridgewater, New Jersey (formerly Autosport Honda). Our shiny «new» doors are open and we’re ready to give you the full tour! We look forward to showing you our new diggs.

History

Established in 2011.

So What’s Our Story? Funny you should ask; we’ve been itching to share! At Open Road Volkswagen of Bridgewater, we’ve found our neighborhood roots in the bustling town of Somerville, New Jersey. Wait, you didn’t know we were here? 2013 marks our second anniversary in the ‘burbs, and while we’ve definitely shed our New Kids on the Block status, we’ve also learned a thing or two from our wonderful neighbors — like what matters most is the experience you have when you’re here. We’re located on Route 22, so we see our neighbors daily, we see their school busses and the patrol cars, and the delivery trucks; we’re just as much a part of this town’s landscape as the people that are in it. Which is why we’ve raised the bar in delivering an outstanding automotive shopping experience.

Aside from our rather extensive inventory, our people truly are our best quality. (Oh and our great coffee, loaner cars, an experienced service department and shuttle service!)

Meet the Manager

Believe it or not, my passion for Volkswagen started before I was even a glimmer in my Mother’s eyes. When my parents met in NY, they both drove Volkswagen Beetles; Dad behind the wheel of a Beetle Coupe and Mom with a Beetle Convertible (very fitting)!

I have had a love for cars for as long as I can remember. And while I couldn’t say «Volkswagen» early on, I didn’t let that stop me, I called them «Vee-Ba-Loos». But don’t let that get out, that would be embarrassing.

I’ve always known that I wanted to do something with cars. Growing up in NJ, my first memory of working on a car was with my Dad as he turned his Ford Maverick into a little pick-up truck. This was before 3 point safety belts and airbags came into play — he toted me and the rest of the neighborhood kids to Baskin Robbins for ice cream in the back of the «truck»

Fast forward (a few short years) to today, where my wifes favorite car, of course is the Volkswagen Beetle. My favorite? The Vee-Ba-Loo Passat TDI!
