History

Established in 1988.

We are a family owned business founded in 1988 in the Brighton Michigan community. However, our families have been rooted in this community since 1968.

We have much more experience beyond our years here in Brighton. Our history in the automotive field actually originates from our grandfather, Thomas, who came to Detroit in 1954 to work for the Ford Motor Company Transmission Plant. We have had transmission and auto repair in our blood for over four generations!

Our business background really starts in 1971 in the Detroit Metropolitan area where the second generation owned and operated M&F Auto Service and A Plus Transmission for nearly 18 years.

In 1988 we opened A Plus Transmission & Auto Repair in Brighton MI. The third and fourth generations are now working hard to carry on our family’s reputation of integrity and business ethics!

My car was making a funny noise and no one could figure it out. Took it to two other shops in Brighton, A plus was recommended by a friend so I gave them a shot. I spoke with Alex at the service counter and he got my car in the same day. They drove me back to work in their shuttle van and picked me up when my car was fixed. Turns out it was just a squeaky brake caliper. These guys had me in and out the same day and the cost of the repair was fair.

Highly suggest that you find some place else. They will install inferior parts that fail out of warranty. They will argue with you as if they are all knowing and you are just the dumb consumer. They will attempt to soil your reputation in the community if you challenge them. Be forewarned. All those stories that you have ever heard about Transmission Repair shops apply. Having spent over $ 600 here I finally had my vehicle fixed at a reputable shop for $ 400 where the same part was replaced. I now have a lifetime warranty on the new repair.
