Boston ITS specializes in consulting services for small to medium sized businesses such as: Network/​computer setup and repair, Virtualization with VMware, Microsoft small business server, Microsoft Exchange, Training and much more. Boston ITS also has a community based project called BITS. BITS is a store that offers professional computer repair services and consulting for the home user, as well as outreach to the community at large. We do this by offering reasonable rates and honest service as an alternative to the high priced and often unsatisfying service offered by the major computer repair services. BITS tag line is“Your neighborhood IT dept”.

History

Established in 2002.

In 2002 some friends got the crazy idea of consulting with small businesses. The idea was born from a conversation about the digital divide that exists between small businesses and larger corporations, and how technology could even the playing field. This conversation turned into a project which gave rise to more projects and Boston ITS was born. And affordable professional services were offered to Boston’s small to midsize businesses. In Dec of 2010 a conversation was had about the cost of computer repair and how it seemed that the cost was going up and the quality of work was going down. A meeting of the minds ensued, a project was discussed and on May 1^st of 2011 the project culminated in BITS: Your neighborhood IT dept. A local computer shop dedicated to the community, in essence your neighborhood it dept. A place to ask questions, get advice, or have qualified service performed all in a friendly atmosphere.
