Different bakeries excel at different items and this bakery’s best item is the yellow cake with whipped cream frosting. My favorite filling is the strawberry. This all occasion cake can be pre-​ordered for larger group events like birthdays or office parties, or they have a small one for about 10 people always available for walk-​in customers.
I’ve been coming to this bakery for over 20 years now for their whipped cream yellow cake. I tried the chocolate with the whipped cream and it was OK, I still prefer the yellow cake.
Their cupcakes are decent, apple pie was decent, and cookies were good. I like the children’s decorations they do on their cupcakes and cookies.

This place is not worth the time or money. Everything tastes like it was made in a home economics course of a local high school, but about two weeks ago. Go somewhere else.

I bought 6 cupcakes from Daniel’s Bakery for my friend’s birthday last week, and they were absolutely delicious. The chocolate frosting was perfectly dense and fudgy, the regular frosting was wonderful and creamy, and the cupcakes themselves were baked perfectly. Wanda, the owner, also was so helpful and accommodating while I was figuring out what to buy. I will absolutely be back again soon!

I’m not sure if many of the Unilocalers are aware, but years ago the original family that owned the bakery sold it to the current owners, and in my opinion, that was things went downhill. All items used to be fresh each and every day and you could smell the fresh breads and treats baking, but now about half of what they sell is already days old. I would recommend their fresh loaves but steer clear of the pastries on the opposite side of the store. Overall customer service is excellent and the vibe of the place is quaint, still holds the charm of the past.

When you go to a bakery you expect fresh baked goods. The half moons were stale so they must have been day old. Simply put there is no excuse for items to be anything but fresh when purchasing from a bakery. Day old should be labeled «day old». This is the first time back to the bakery in a few years so I am wondering if they have changed hands. In addition one of the clerks behind the counter was using bare hands instead of wax paper sheets to bag cupcakes for another customer.

It’s tradition now. Every Valentines day– Greg goes to Daniel’s and gets the 2 monster (both HUGE and shaped like monsters) cupcakes. He claims we will split them, but I end up eating both. The frosting is UNBELIEVABLE, and the shape/​décor is just so cute. One time, I went to get some just for the heck of it, and also got a collection of other cookies.
After meeting the staff/​owners– it is a typical old-​school family run place. They don’t really care about how it looks (its an empty store), and there wasn’t much personality.
However, food based — Everything was very very fresh. Delicious, delicious, delicious.

This is my go-​to bakery because its location is most convenient for me and their treats are very tasty. The strawberry shortcake cakes are AMAZING. I have bought three in the past couple of months for friends’ birthdays, and everyone who tries a piece loves it. The frosting is a light and fluffy cream topping and tastes fresh. The coconut bread that they have is also very good, as are the various cookies.
The other day, I saw the people in the back box an extremely impressive 2-​ft Minnie Mouse cake. Although I haven’t tasted these specialty cakes, I would definitely place my order with these guys just going off of aesthetics. If you are looking for a big (or even small) wedding cake, birthday cake, or any specially-​made cake, check this place out.
The reason for my 4-​star review, instead of a 5-​star one, is due to the inconsistent customer service I have received. I stop by here at least once every two weeks, and each time, depending on who is helping me, I receive different levels of service, from friendly and helpful to cold and a bit rude.

Looks like its been there all day, and we were inside for 5 minutes in an empty store before anyone said anything. That nonsense makes me walk right back out the door.

Needed a birthday cake for a small get together and wanted to avoid the usual grocery store chain terrible birthday cakes. I spotted a 7′ German chocolate in the display and ordered one with writing for about $ 14. I ordered it Thursday, picked it up that Saturday. Really nice icing balloons and lettering and the cake was delicious. They also have two large books of birthday cake designs including the typical Disney, Barbie, etc. I would definitely recommend buying a cake from here. One tip, minimum credit card purchase is $ 10 so I ran into a little bit of a pickle because I had prepaid for the cake and only thought of the candles when I went to pick it up and had no cash. Not a huge deal but good to know.

Daniels is my family’s go to place for birthday cakes. Their cakes with strawberries and whip cream are the best.

WOW!!! my wife bought Boston Cream Pie Cupcake and guess what??? Took a folk to dig the cupcake and can see blue mold all all over the case inside. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AND DISGUSTING!!! Imagine if I took a bite without cutting into it. I WILL REPORT TO LOCAL HEALTH AGENCY AS WELL! DO NOT GO THERE!!!

This review is specifically for the strawberry cream puff. They really do taste like strawberries and heavy whipped cream. With some strawberry jam in there. The taste is just okay. At $ 3/​each, wasn’t really worth it in my opinion, but again this review is solely for the strawberry cream puffs.

Butter cookies! A delicious, flaky morsel.

I called to pre order some pies for Thanksgiving. A woman answered the phone and asked for my name phone number and type of payment before we even concluded what I wanted. I told her what I’d like and she asked medium or large so I asked how many a medium feeds. She said «it’s not like that. We don’t know how much a medium makes for slices. It depends if a fat person wants a big slice.» I said excuse me?! She repeated «if a fat person wants a big slice a medium won’t feed too much. You’re being too needy with questions. We are busy.» Talk about ignorant. Her accent was difficult to understand so I thought perhaps I heard her wrong… NOPE! So I told her nevermind and ended the call. Well she called me back and told me I wasted her time. I’ve never experienced that in my life. What a psycho. This place gets an F in my book.

This bakery is AMAZING!!! I was walking on Washington st and stumbled into this place. I found out it’s a family owned bakery that has been around for 55 years!
The service here is always friendly and warm. I think the older family members may not know English too well but their daughter is always there to help explain or recommend things.
Everything is baked fresh and they have an assortment of bread, sweet bread, cookies, cakes, pastries, etc. They definitely have some goodies that I have never seen before and I haven’t tried anything I haven’t liked yet. So it’s nice to grab a cup of coffee and some random goodies that catches my eyes. I HIGHLY recommend the raspberry and guave cookies with powdered sugar on them. It’s made really really well! It’s sweet (not overly) and it’s a little chewy haha I’m a sucker for chewie cookies
Plus, everything in here is seriously cheap! I got a box of a large pastry and 9 cookies for only $ 5.60!!! I’ll definitely come back and try more of their pastries and the fact that they are family owned makes me want to support them even more. You just don’t find fresh homemade goodies like this anymore. I’ve lived down the street from this place for 9 months, and have walked past it dozens of times, but hadn’t stepped in until on lazy Saturday in December. Wow, what a great bakery!
Daniel’s is what a bakery should be: no frills… just friendly staff dishing out amazing carb-​a-​licious treats. It’s not just a place to get a croissant or bagel — you’ve got cookies, cakes, loaves of every kind of bread you can imagine, cupcakes, quiche, pie, and more.
After my boyfriend got a cookie and I got a small quiche, we enjoyed it thoroughly and declared Daniel’s to be our go-​to bakery from now on!
There is no parking lot, so get ready to park on the street. Also, from the outside this place looks a little divey… but give it a shot!

I’m not a huge fan of bakeries. Usually they’re overpriced and rarely do they offer products any better than what you’d find in a grocery store.
Well, Daniel’s is a cut above the rest.
This place offers delicious cupcakes, amazing cakes, fantastic breads and remarkable confectionaries. It’s become one of my favorite places since moving to Brighton, with a variety of awesome sale items on the rolling rack by the front window throughout the day.
Oh yeah, I know this is a pro tip and will ruin things for me, but before you check out the vast selection of cakes and sweets in the glass cases, check out that tower by the door. Their muffins are fantastic, and they offer yesterday’s breads on sale at a MASSIVE markdown, and they add things as the day goes by.
I’ve gotten cupcakes at a dollar a half-​dozen, scones and muffins by the bag for about three bucks, and loaves of raisin, cinnamon, Italian, egg and challah bread for far less than their retail. These items are only a day old, usually, and their donuts are a much better value once they move to this rack.
Staff are generally friendly, but the Spanish-​speaking crowd tends to get better treatment. Also, there is a $ 10 minimum for credit cards, but if you come up short, just get a three-​pack of their huge chocolate chip cookies.

I’m very confused as to why the reviews are so high. Maybe I came on an off day. I came in the evening on a Wednesday… maybe business wasn’t that good this week and everything was just leftovers but nothing was fresh. They all tasted like days-​old cardboard. The only thing decent was the black and white cookie (which btw does not taste like a real black and white cookie. The icing was just whipped cream of some sort.) The other cookies and pastries were stale.
The service was also terrible. The people in the bakery spent the entire time bickering with each other and completely didn’t pay attention to us. We were just trying to order and get out!
Also, the bakery was just really sterile looking. Bleh. There are SO MANY other better bakeries in town than this place.
