Yay for Gerard! He just got my friend and I an awesome apartment, also! The funny thing is, we will be living right ABOVE the Re-​max office. 1211 Comm. Ave!
We were looking for a 2 bedroom AFFORDABLE apartment in the Harvard Ave. area, which most other brokers told us «you’ll never find that…» But, Gerard did his homework and found us a great place, BIG bedrooms, nice living room, only 1400/​month!
He’s the best broker there, and I’ll tell you why: He’s efficient, charismatic, listens to what you actually WANT, and knows a lot about the Boston/​Cambridge area. He knows exactly what to show you. He’s awesome!

Gerard is awesome. My boyfriend and I contacted him based on a flyer we found and Connie L.‘s review, and we’re extremely happy we did. We had some major criteria for our potential apartments (very low budget, cat-​friendly, etc.) and Gerard was able to accommodate all of them. He’s really easy to get in touch with via phone or email, and he always responded promptly.
Also, Gerard was extremely understanding of the few concerns we had and did everything he could to alleviate them. Obviously, his job was to rent us an apartment, but he really genuinely wanted us to be comfortable with the apartment and the neighborhood.
Today we put a deposit on a fantastic apartment that is perfect for us. Yay!

I came to Boston with two friends to look for apartments. The two of them wanted a two-​bedroom, I was looking for a one-​bedroom or a studio. We wanted to live in the Brookline area (close to Longwood Medical), so we looked for brokers located there.
We had several brokers — some good, some bad — Gerard Cole from ReMax was definitely one of the good eggs. He mentioned that he’s worked frequently with people working in the Longwood Medical area.
Why we liked him:
* Efficient. We kind of walked in cold after one of our other brokers didn’t pan out, and within five minutes he’d come up with a list of appropriate places to show us.
* Knows the area. Apparently he’s been doing this for 13 years or so — and he’s lived in Coolidge Corner for 4 years; he was able to tell us about the area, pointed out places to me to go running, and suggested ways to get to work.
* Knows real estate business. Knows the price points for different apt sizes, etc. That was helpful.
