History
Established in 1995.
Right at Home, a privately held provider of in-home elder care and assistance, was founded in 1995 by Allen Hager, a hospital administrator who was concerned patients needed additional assistance after their discharge from the hospital. Before opening the first Right at Home office, Hager became a Certified Nursing Assistant to gain a better understanding of the care giving issues that families faced as their loved one returned home. Today, Right at Home generates more than $ 201 million in annual revenue through its 270-plus locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil and as the first in-home senior care franchise to enter China. Outlets are franchisee-owned and operated, and staff skilled professionals trained to provide home-based care for thousands of clients daily. Meet the Business Owner
Barry P.
Business Owner
Much like Right at Home founder Allen Hagar, Barry thought he was going to become a doctor, and graduated with a degree in Pre-med and business from Michigan State University. In fact, he attended medical school for a year but decided ultimately to focus on the health care industry through his passion for business. He ended up getting his MBA at Case Western Reserve University and worked for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, as well as a Health Care Consultant for Ernst and Young. Upon completion of graduate school Barry worked in pharmaceuticals having a successful seventeen year career with Eli Lilly and Company. Barry’s success in business allowed him to travel all over the world as he held nine different positions in his time with Lilly. Having three boys and ailing grandparents, Barry chose to stray from the corporate world to purchase two substantial Michigan geographies for Right at Home, which he hopes will provide hundreds of jobs within the next few years.
