Superior Collision Center

I was told over the phone because of a bill that I had not paid correctly with a subsidiary of the company that owns superior collision they were holding my car hostage even though the bill has nothing to do with my accident or insurance reimbursement! This is unacceptable and bad practices. You can’t do a mechanics lien without due process and that’s exactly what they did!

Hit a deer and damaged the front fender and seat belts/​air bag system. They did a great job — my car looks brand new. There were electrical problems with the seat belt locking and they worked with the dealership to address them. I really appreciate that they cleaned the car inside and out — even cleaned my bike rack! — in polishing up the car before I got it back.

This place is run by a bunch of amateurs. I took in my car after being rear-​ended. After 3 days they told me to come pick it up. The right side of the bumper was sticking half an inch off the side of the car, and the guy I asked to come look at it was dumbfounded that I wanted them to fix it. He even told me, «Well it’s plastic and it is cold out so maybe it will get better.» Uhh, no.
Fast forward four more days and they call me to come pick it up again. Looks like they used 3M automotive double-​sided tape to hold it against the car… and because the tape is so thick the bumper is still sticking out along the seam. I called the next day and was told they were waiting on a ‘bracket’ they ordered to come in. Uhh, why wasn’t the bracket ordered in the first place? Useless people, take your car somewhere else unless you like wasting your time.

This place is huge.
They do work for the Detroit Auto Show, they work on RV’s and boats, and of course cars. It’s owned by the same people as the GMC dealership, but they don’t charge dealership rates. I walked in the back where they do the work, and could not believe the level of repairs that they can do.
It’s pretty obvious from the volume of work that they must be doing the repairs for local fleets and other dealerships. I even saw a semi truck getting repaired while I was there.
The place was clean and my car was washed when they completed the work.
