History
Established in 1999.
After three years of operating on a very small scale, with a paddock barn and two arenas, we incorporated as Cowgirl, Inc. in 1999. Hossmoor was fully born in January of 2000 when we opened the 150′ X 250′ covered arena, 100′ X 200′ outdoor arena and the Hossmoor barn. The H barn features private 4’X6’ tack rooms in your stall and 36′ attached paddocks! The following year we added the R Barn, and in 2002 the D Barn. Since then we have added the 80′ round pen, EuroXciser, and the Cross Country Course. We are not crowded because we are on 138 lovely acres in Briones — an agricultural preserve.
Meet the Business Owner
Hetty D.
Business Owner
Hetty grew up on a horse and cattle ranch in Contra Costa County, CA. Breeding horses and training them for ranch work was part of the family business. After teaching and operating the family cattle business for many years, she founded Hossmoor. As a long rider (1,300 miles in 4 month in 1994, and 1,000 miles in 2014, at the age of 71) she knows a lot about how to keep horses healthy and sound. She says Hossmoor provides the feeding, cleaning, and care your horse needs, so that you’re free to ride!
