Statue Factory

A few years ago, I got my first apartment that actually had a garden area out front of my very own, along with a small backyard. With all the new space, there was plenty of room for some statues and I heard about this place from a store in San Francisco that was using a Venus De Milo statue as a «model» for some of their jewelry. It’s size, substantial quality and interesting finish caused me to ask where they got it and they directed me towards the Statue Factory.
We’ve purchased several pieces from here, both large and small. Our array of classic figures (Birth of Venus, Venus De Milo) as well as animals are the finishing touches on both my front and backyards.
The most fun about this place? After choosing your statue, you get pick the finish! Quite simply you pick out the raw, unfinished piece you see in their inventory (or in one of several catalogs they have should you have something particularly in mind) and then look at the 12 – 15 different colors and styles of finish. They typically have your custom finished piece done in a week and the prices are very reasonable-​comparable to other statuaries that have the pieces pre-​done.
Super friendly staff-​the guy who works there is always willing to help you find something you’re looking for.
I’ve got about 5 or 6 pieces from them with another on the way and after two years outdoors-​heat, rain, sun, freezing cold, they’ve all held up well-​no cracks and still holding the original colors I picked them up in.
This place is amazing for any outdoor decorating needs! They do also have fountains and larger pots, also that you can customize to your preferred finish.
They close early (I think around 1 on Saturdays) and there a little of the beaten path but totally worth it.

We purchased a Seville fountain at the Statue Factory in July 2000. In August 2001 a ¼″ wide crack appeared in the base and the company promptly replaced it at no charge. Since then the finish has worn off the entire fountain and the fountain is covered with cracks. I have called the Statue Factory over the years and was told if it was not leaking it was normal wear and tear. The flaking finish has repeatedly clogged the pump and water is now seeping through the center column from which water spouts. I have contacted the Statue Factory and the rep suggested I just buy new parts. We think the fountain should have lasted longer than 10 years, (we paid about $ 1000 for it in 2000).
