A Newfound Bed & Breakfast

I had such an amazing time here with my boyfriend. Will most likely come back again, such a wonderful place. Plus Bernie is adorable!

My husband and I stayed at A Newfound Bed & Breakfast this past weekend. What a delight. The inn is beautiful, tucked away in the woods, on a lovingly cared for property with an amazing view. You will be greeted warmly by Sondra and, the real boss, Bernie, her amazing pup. You will fall instantly in love with Bernie! Sondra will give you a tour of the charming inn which includes 24 hour access to pie and cake. Seriously, it couldn’t get any better. We stayed in the Newfound room, which was so lovely we decided to spend most of the weekend there cuddled up by the fire or in the hot tub for two.
Breakfast was homemade and delicious. You will not walk away hungry. Access to every kind of tea, coffee and juice is available anytime, day or night. The common living room is warm and cozy with plenty of books, games and current magazines. The view from this room is amazing too… although you will probably just be watching the constant fire in the fireplace.
I can’t wait to go back in the summer to explore the garden!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place on Unilocal yet. My (now) fiancée and I spent the most amazing weekend at A Newfound Bed & Breakfast. The breakfast was fantastic, consisting of french toast that was to die for with asparagus and farm fresh eggs. The bed was equally as good, with a private bathroom and a nice little room warmer in the corner.
The inn itself has the absolute best view of the surrounding lakes area that I have ever seen. The inside is beautifully decorated and has books and games galore. Sondra keeps it immaculate and makes you feel welcome, but the best part was her canine companion (Bernie?), a gorgeous male Burnese Mountain Dog who was friendly as could be.
I highly recommend this for a weekend getaway and I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Sondra!

Let me start by saying WOW! This place is unbelievable. Not only because of the beautiful grounds, but the hospitality. The moment my wife and I drove up we were blown away with the beautiful view, and were also greeted by one of the friendliest dogs in the world. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Northeast make a point to come here. Thank you again Sondra for a wonderful time, and putting up with our rascal of a dog Winston.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here with Sondra and her awesome dog and cats. It is a beautiful house in a great location. We went hiking during the day and always looked forward to getting back to the b&b. Sondra is an excellent host and a great cook!

Lovely proprietor and stunning views of the lake– Rustic luxury in an extremely relaxing environment, inside and out– The shower in the Cardinal room is a bit low (someone even 6 ft. might be hitting the (non-​adjustable) fixture), but the soaking tub/​whirlpool makes up for it. There is really no need to leave once you are there except for for exploring the grounds and trails.

So I went two years ago and I thought I reviewed the place but I couldn’t find it so I’m reviewing it again: THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY! It’s so beautiful and amazing. The host, Sondra, is the nicest person and it’s literally the dog friendliest place I’ve ever been to in the states. I really can’t speak any more highly about it. Just please see for yourself!

A truly wonderful place… The location and setting are spectacular. The Inn itself is first class. Sondra is amazing… The atmosphere is laid-​back, the rooms are beautiful… I’ve stayed here twice, both times in the Newfound Room with fire place, in-​room hot tub (with views of the lake) and a private deck, Every detail of this B&B is first class. From the moment you arrive you fell like your visiting friends for the weekend and staying as a guest in a beautiful home. Perfectly decorated throughout with books to browse, maps, art, a telescope on a perch, fireplaces, a kitchen filled with goodies… snacks, fruit, candy, cake to nibble on… The grounds are wonderful with sweeping views of Newfound Lake. We enjoyed a wonderful late-​night fire out on the patio and bottle of wine after returning from dinner… I just can’t say enough about how great this place is! We will definitely be back again. Thx Sondra! PS– the breakfast is AMAZING!

What a beautiful, beautiful place, inside and out! We stayed there with our pup in January and couldn’t have enjoyed the long weekend more. There was a wonderful winter wonderland outside and a roaring fire, quaint décor, and amazing hospitality on the inside.
Sondra, the owner was extremely kind, even lending us her car when ours couldn’t make it up and down the hill to go out for dinner. There were always treats in the kitchen and anything in the fridge was up for grabs. Sondra also allowed us to take some wedding themed photos on her property and they came out fantastically!
And if you’re looking somewhere dog friendly, look no further. There was no where our pup wasn’t welcome and treats were available for him too.

I recently held a small wedding (10 people) at the Newfound Bed & Breakfast. I couldn’t have imagined how breathtakingly gorgeous and special this place is, but when I finally saw it in person I knew I had made the right choice! I could never have found a more suitable place to create beautiful memories and enjoy the beautiful view, the lake and surrounding mountains are outrageously amazing! I hired Simple Bouquets to decorate the arbor on their amazing patio and it all looked amazing for our special day!
I could not have asked for a better experience. The Innkeeper Sondra was so helpful to us in all of our preparations, and it was great to have a gourmet breakfast prepared for you each morning! Sondra is an amazing person and we are so lucky that she was there to ensure that everything ran smoothly for us! She made an amazingly special day that much more special and stress free for me and I can’t thank her enough!
I can’t wait to go back to Newfound, before we were even married we were already planning to come back here to celebrate our anniversary every year!

We were going to a wedding in the area, and I was fortunate to find this gem from reading other Unilocal reviews. It is everything the other reviewers have said and more. Sonda has created a veritable Shangri-​La and runs the place magnificently. Being there was a superb experience in the moment and left wonderful memories. If we lived closer (we’re Californians), we’d make this a periodic destination just for a rejuvenating get away.

I just returned after staying at the B&B as part of a wedding weekend. There were 16 of us, I believe, that were part of the wedding party that stayed here for two nights, and we could not have asked for better accommodations! Sondra has created a true lake region oasis. The view, the décor, the food, the people, and the atmosphere created a relaxing environment for 8 bridesmaids, the mothers of the bride and groom, and the bride! We used the great room for hair, makeup, and to relax and bond with each other prior to getting dressed and photographs. (Sidenote — the photographer was in her glory with all the options for great pictures!) We all enjoyed a bonfire outside after the reception (which was about a mile away at the Inn on Newfound Lake). Sondra made sure we all were eating and hydrating, and had full champagne flutes the morning of the wedding. She quickly became part of our wedding day experience. The morning after brunch was spot on! Stuffed blueberry french toast, quiche, eggs, chicken sausage, bacon, toast, pastries, fruit, and of course the all import Keurig were all perfect, and just what we needed! Thank you again, Sondra, and I hope to be back there again!

Great location, awesome breakfasts and a really friendly hostess. I stayed here with my wife for a long weekend and will definitely be back.
The view at sunset alone is worth the price of admission.

The house is beautiful, the view is amazing, the atmosphere welcoming, and Sondra is all you could want from a hostess.

Wow! My daughter and I stayed in the Hemlock room. The building is modern, warm and spacious, but decorated in a very warm and inviting fashion with rustic accessories and comfortable, high quality furniture. This is a thoroughly updated establishment in which the details have been sweated out. In the two story great room, there is a healthy selection of good movies, lots of reading materials, games, and many good areas to hang out.
Sondra, the proprietor, was a very gracious and generous host and a fabulous cook. It sounds like her menu changes, but for breakfast we had a strawberry, dark and white chocolate cobbler, an egg and ricotta omelet with fresh vegetables, home fries, cinnamon rolls, and bacon. The cobbler was even better than it sounds, the home fries were savory, the omelet was made with fresh eggs from the on-​premises hens, and the bacon was crispy and not greasy.
Finally, I would be remiss if I neglected to mention the setting. The view of the lake combined with the White Mountain range is so tranquil in the winter. The panoramic picture I posted of the sunset there doesn’t do it justice. The way the entire building is situated on the lot and the way the decks open out onto the landscape is just wonderful and unique.
One last note — if you like to watch TV, there is a huge menu of available cable channels, and if you use the Internet a lot, the Wifi is very high speed and works outdoors as well. However, your time would be wasted — your head should be pointed at the view and/​or the food and not the screen!

The owner, Sondra, is a first-​rate hostess and her B&B has a rare charm both rustic and luxurious.
The lady and I stayed in the Newfound room. It had a jacuzzi, a fireplace, a nice bed and a hell of a view. We were stuck in for the first day because of the snow and we could not have been happier in our little winter wonderland. The large main room had a fireplace, lots of recent magazines, our music of choice and plush sofas. The view of Newfound lake and the surrounding mountains was great.
Sondra is a fantastic breakfast chef. There was banana bread pudding with peanut butter sauce, a fritata with mushrooms and eggs from Sondra’s chickens, and a fantastic eggs Benedict with cranberry chutney.
I particularly loved the décor in the place. There were tons of antiques, many of which were functional, and enough little details to get lost in.
And in terms of Service, Sondra pulls out all the stops. She wants to make the place a home away from home for her guests. At one point the lady said the only thing missing was a cute pet. So Sondra brought over her half-​chihuahua-​half-​pug and her cat. They were both sweet animals. We did indeed feel right at home, only we didn’t have to clean a thing!
You can be certain I’ll be back to this gem.

My husband took us to Bristol, NH to stay in A Newfound B&B for our honeymoon. It was a surprise to me where we were going and I have to say it was an amazing surprise! Sondra, the owner and inn keeper made us feel right at home and was more accommodating than I ever expected. Even going so far as to make sure I had warm enough clothes since the location was a surprise I was not really prepared for the cold weather especially for a Texas girl. The house and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL! It was so relaxing and breakfast every morning was delicious and more that I could eat. Sondra also went above and beyond to accommodate my special diet needs as well and I was so very thankful! It was so lovely to be able to cook our own dinner in kitchen a couple of nights when we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the fireplace and relax. I would highly recommend staying with Sondra at A Newfound Bed & Breakfast!

Oh, my goodness, what an extraordinary place!
My husband and I decided to escape the craziness of life for a while and retreat to the mountains. This place was definitely BETTER than expected. We used the «buy two nights, get one free» deal, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire time spent at this home. We stayed in the Newfound room, and the hot tub was absolutely perfect to relax us both! I also really enjoyed the fireplace next to the bed, and the amazing view from our bedroom windows.
Sondra, the host, was absolutely wonderful. She is very laid-​back, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked through the door. Her breakfasts were so filling, and delicious too. The first morning, we had a bread pudding with a vegetable omelet, the next morning was a fruit cobbler and bacon & eggs, and the third morning we had eggnog pancakes. All of these meals were completely filling and tremendous portions! The living room and game room were also nice, very modern compared to a typical bed and breakfast (which I appreciated… I mean, who really wants to take a vacation at Grandma’s house?!)
Overall, I am absolutely thrilled with my time spent away from «reality» and I look forward to visiting again in the summer! :)
