Animal Protection Center

I am in love with this animal shelter. The staff really care and they keep the place incredibly clean. I got a sweet kitten from there a year ago and was so happy that I recently just adopted my second kitten. They have so many loving animals, this place is where you can find your new family member.

My daughter and I went here last week on school vacation, we told our friends we were going to the «free» cat zoo. The plan was to visit the animals at the shelter but you cant leave this place without a new pet. I have adopted two other cats and they were/​are the best most loveable cats. They have a great play room for the older cats and you can go in and visit them, pet them, hold them and even take pictures with them. They also have dogs and exotic animals. I could not resist the temptation to adopt another cat. After a call to dad and the approval, we walked out with our new baby Blaze. I wanted a friend for my other cat and Blaze was the orange version of my Milo and they have the same personality. The people at the adoption center are very helpful and love the animals.

Best shelter I’ve ever seen, lovely staff, clean, tons of space for the animal. Adopted a lovely cat from them. I love how friendly the staff are and that they let you spend as much time as you want with the animals.

We recently adopted Duke, a delightful boy gerbil, from here. It was an awesome experience! The facility was clean and the staff friendly and accommodating! We are so fortunate that out little gem was there for us to adopt he is such a blessed addition to our family!

My family comes here every other week or so to give the shelter cats and dogs some love and attention, the staff here are obviously very devoted to what they do and it shows… keep up the great work everyone!

I’m rating this in as much as you can rate an animal shelter. So with that in mind, I had a great experience adopting from here. They had an adoption event this week-​end and the husband, toddler, and I went to «just look».
It was a little hectic when we arrived, but considering this was a fee waived adoption event, that was expected. The staff was very pleasant and organized. Everything seemed very clean and there was no «shelter» smell. They have a kitty lounge area in front, complete with chairs, cat furniture, and lounging cats. I haven’t seen this setup before and found it quite interesting.
The staff seems to make a real effort to help you make a good match. We spoke to an adoption counselor about our home situation, other pets, and what had led us to here while we waited for a room so we could see how we’d all get along outside of the cage. We were given plenty of time and I never felt pressured to hurry up and decide even though it was quite busy.
Before we left, they made sure our new cat had all his shots, documentation, and was microchipped. They filled out all our information for the microchip, something I remember having to do myself after a vet visit previously. We also have a month of pet health insurance included, in case he gets sick.
I’d certainly make the trip up from Providence if we were going to adopt another pet. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience.
