Brockton’s Newest Kid on the Block! JJ’s Caffe is a cozy eatery specializing in gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes located on Brockton’s North Side. Recent features include being voted Entrepreneur of the Year by the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, described as «The ‘Cheers’ of Brockton» by The Enterprise, and one of the highest rated dining establishments in the South Shore on Yelp. Our most popular dishes are the Hangover Benedict, Dutchess Benedict, Crème Brulee French Toast, Ollie Burger, the Big Mouth Burger, and more! We proudly brew Kahve Koffee!

History

Established in 2013.

Chef JJ and son, Nelson Fernandes, are both veterans of the hotel industry. Chef JJ spent most of his 30-​year career as Executive Chef of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel while Nelson, who serves as General Manager of JJ’s Caffè, spent 10 years with Starwood Hotels. They’ve always dreamed of opening up a restaurant together and have now brought their passion for food and service to JJ’s Caffè.

Business Owner

Chef JJ is a personable and seasoned chef of 30 years who has a remarkable passion for food and presentation. Born in Cape Verde, Chef JJ moved to America in 1981 and worked his first job as a dishwasher at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston. He quickly made his way up the ranks until finally taking the helm at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel as the Executive Chef in 1996. It was at the Park Plaza where Chef JJ had the pleasure of cooking for such dignitaries as Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, Vice President Al Gore and a variety of other notable personalities.
