I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it is to find health food in the Bronx. Naturally the few places I’ve uncovered are all in proximity to hospitals. This one happens to be right at the Einstein College campus at Jacobi Hospital. It’s a nice deli to pick up a snack or drink and they carry brands that are rarely spotted in the area. I usually stop in to pick something up while I wait for the BX31 bus which runs right in front of it. My only wish is that there was more produce and of better quality(it’s not bad here, just not great looking).

So this place is one of the delis with a great variety in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. If you have been to a Korean deli it’s pretty much the same type of layout and products. It is set up like a deli in the city. They have all the types of products that you would normally expect from a deli. During the week they have 2 buffet salad and hot food that you pay by the pound. They have burgers and sandwiches as well. They even have sushi. They take credit cards for payment and deliver as well. I have purchased food from here in the past and it was pretty good. I give this deli for stars for the variety of products and foods offered.

The food in this place is fabulous and delicious. It is served buffet style and with several selections to choose from it is a definite place to drop by if in the area. The food is fresh daily, clean, and absolutely delicious. Don’t walk by this place, you will regret it.

This review is for the Chef Sean who makes the sushi within the store. Best deal on sushi in the bronx and delicious. He delivers service with a smile every time.

I Come here for lunch a lot. You can either get from the buffet and pay by weight, or order a nice sandwhich. BUFFET: The buffet has two sections — a cold salad section and one side for hot foods. The cold salad section has a nice selection of ceaser salad, tomatos, fresh mozerella, and what not. The hot side is amazing — many different types of meat(beef, chicken grilled/fried, fish, turkey), some hot pastas, steamed veggies, potatos and mac and cheese and much more. Everything is fresh and tasty. DELI: The Deli is excellent — I love their chicken cutlets. The only downside is how slow they can be. But the reason for that is that they are really making you a sandwhich with care. Always comes out great, and portions are generous. I always call ahead and they have it ready and waiting.

I do like this place and appreciate it’s presence in the neighborhood, but I did get quite sick after eating the sushi.

Its great to have a city like place in the Bronx. nice owners, great sandwiches, sushi nd a nice healthy selection of items. The one bad thing i have to say about them is that they don’t take American Express.

I’ve seen this place on the block for a while now. I was happy I made the decision to try it for lunch. The Bronx has«bodegas.» while the City has«delis.» This is a «deli,» which has a hot table, sushi and plenty of other stuff to choose from. It’s cool to have on the block. I decided on some sushi which can be made to order and let me tell you, I was impressed. It was good and the sushi dude was nice. He made conversation and seemed like he cared about making my lunch good. Would I be back? Yes.

For all the Einsteiners in the vicinity, Apple Grocery is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Apple Grocery is Korean owned, organic, and vegetarian(kind of, read on). They have a small selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, kimchee!, and homemade tofu. The shelves are stocked with dried foods, beverages, sauces, and snacks. It’s also likely that you’ll find some rarer items like canned lychee, yan yan, and Japanese iced green tea in the store. Unfortunately, all these items also come with a premium price tag. Although the grocery section is vegetarian, the deli and sushi bar sell prepared foods, including meat. The sushi here is the real star. Sean, the house sushi chef, whips up a variety of fresh and delicious rolls for just $ 4 per roll. This is no Morimoto’s but it’s as good as it gets in the Bronx. I wish Apple Grocery would put a greater focus on Asian snacks and groceries to help differentiate it from other grocers but as of now, it only offers a mishmash of groceries and snacks that can supplement your trip to Pathmark but can’t replace it.

Welcome to our neighborhood! We are so happy to have you here. The fresh flowers are great and the store has so many goodies. just like a Manhattan korean grocer :) Please stock Friskies cat food(cans) and Fancy Feast cat food(cans) and cat litter. that way i won’t have to go to pathmark and spend my money there. Thanks!!!

giving it 5 stars because of the quality of the options for this area. It’s a small store but they have an amazing array of options. I could do most of my shopping here. they have fresh flowers in water in front of their store like small grocery stores in the city. a good selection of cereals, sauces, jams, coffee, juice, ice cream, snacks. cold ice tea, sodas. cholula, sriracha, swiss muesli, meyer’s cleaning supplies, bonne maman preserves. fresh produce like green leafy vegetables, leeks, good looking scallions. this place is also korean owned so they have homemade tofu and really good kimchi. and various asian snacks like yanyan, and ginger candy. check it out.
