My husband and I were complete newbies when it came to salsa, and we were looking for a friendly solid studio to learn salsa for our first dance at our wedding(with only 6months before our date!). Juan and Caridad have a very affordable and great studio. For $ 10/lesson, you learn basic moves and rotate with various partners of varying skill level, so you learn to build confidence and rhythm. We also had private lessons with Juan to speed up our learning, and boy was it worth it! Juan was very flexible with our schedule and made sure that we build a solid salsa foundation with each lesson. It’s obvious these instructors do it for love of the dance, shown by the environment. Beginners are welcome and can learn at their own pace. By the way, our first dance was a success! All our guests loved it, and we surprised ourselves with how much we learned in such a short span! We loved learning all the moves and are definitely coming back for more lessons!

I’ve been going here for about 3 years now. I’ve been to other studios, but this one is the best. Juan and Caridad do a great job of teaching a turn pattern at the appropriate level. If you can’t keep up the show goes on and maybe you are in the wrong level. I never like studios that slowed it way down and punished those of is that could keep up. Don’t get me wrong, if the entire class seems to be struggling he will slow down, but in general it operates like a well oiled machine. Classes are packed so you get a lot of practice dancing with many partners. They review a few shines at the beginning of class and teach a new shine. Then the men and women split and they tech you some fancy foot work that will be used in the turn pattern. They do a really good job of teaching us ladies styling.

Great local studio, salsa beginner classes are ten bucks for an hour session and begin at 7pm on Tuesdays. Great vibe and I cannot wait to be good at dancing on two. Classes are great because they rotate partners which is good if your partner isn’t the best lol– you learn to dance with others instead of only learning steps alone.
