I came here during my lunch break. It was Sunday afternoon and this was the only local pizzeria open in Westchester Square. The other local pizza joint was closed and there was Little Caesar’s down the block. I was in the mood for a classic New York slice of pizza. I always say, New York makes the best pizza slice, even better than in Italy. It’s what I grew up eating and it’s what I like. Cestra’s pizza is just another example of pizza done right. Nice and thin, crispy crust on the bottom. Easy to make the perfect fold. Take a bit and the mozzarella cheese pulls just enough for you to see it but not so much that it slides off. As far pizza goes in this neighborhood, this one is definitely a thumbs up.

This place is an all in one type of great pizza place. The assortment of specialty slices is not only so varied, they’re all fabulous. The owner and all the staff are as accommodating as possible. There’s nothing they wouldn’t do for you to make your experience exceptional. I’ve been in the neighborhood a few months now, and with each visit, I always walk out happy and filled.

I go for their buffalo ranch with olives and broccoli slice. ITSTHEREALLLLLLLLDEALLLLLL! Customer service is chill, the guys are very laid back and will add whatever you want. It’s not an expensive place, I think it’s reasonable and honestly a good Slice of pizza does the job! Don’t forget to grab their garlic knots. Delicious ! I give them a 4 because I think it can be improved for minor things but it’ll do.

This pizza is absolutely delicious. It’s our favorite local pizza shop, and we go there every chance we get. Good old fashioned crispy crust, cheesy, deliciously perfect pizza.

It took an hour for my soup and grandma slice to get to me so naturally my pizza was cold. I was only a few blocks from them! Other than that, it would have been delicious. I also found my tortellini soup extremely watery. It was nice that they don’t(or don’t really as per the gentleman on the phone) have a minimum for delivery but I’m not too ecstatic about this place.

Somebody in the know recommended me this place, otherwise I never would’ve thought to go try it out. An absolutely perfect grandma slice: the sauce, chunks of tomato, the chewy real deal mozzarella and some other magical ingredients on top of an absolutely stellar crust. Trust me if you are in the area, and go get a slice here.

The way pizza was meant to be… thin, crispy crust, with the delectable crunch of semolina dusted on the bottom of the crust, perfect balance of mozzarella cheese to fresh tomato gravy. If you miss the days of old when you could get an amazing regular slice of New York pizza served out the window… this is the place. They have lots of other selections of toppings… I’m sure they are great but I am addicted to the original style.

I am Italian-American and very picky about the quality of ingredients used in any restaurant or pizzeria. I have no complaints here. Everyday, this Cestra’s has consistently delicious pizza. Try the Grandma slice and pepperoni wheels. God, I could eat it every day of the week!

I have been living in the Bronx my whole life and there are so many great pizza places around here. Cestras is definitely one of my favorite. I usually eat at different places to get a variety but now i pretty much only go here and very rarely anywhere else. It pretty much comes down to the fact that their pizza is clearly superior to other places. Aside from the great tasting sauce and cheese one of my favorite things about their pizza it the crust. Its never to thick, never to thin or soggy and they have that awesome cornflower coating the bottom. Really gives the pizza a great taste. Also don’t forget the garlic knots which are amazing as well.

Cestra’s Pizza(three or four) is an arguably satisfying pizza joint in Westchester Square, a dining wasteland with little to offer except for a few distinct gems. They offer an array of specials, consisting of a large pie, your choice of salad, baked ziti, buffalo wings, and garlic knots. With this comes a free two-liter soda. This restaurant gets four stars primarily on service. When staying in with the specials, they will deliver all the goodies to you along with a loaf of warm, toasty bread. The staff is friendly and conversational. The garlic knots were tasty, warm and dense and garlicky. The salad was comprised of a hefty bowl, topped with peppery grilled chicken. The star of the meal, the pizza, was a decent Bronx slice, with a tasty crust. The sauce seemed to be missing a little something, perhaps salt or garlic? I would return, under the impression that it’s a good neighborhood joint. Brotip: When will I ever learn that cheese on pizza is HOT? ugh!
