Great food, great portions. Large selection of food to choose from. I particularly enjoy the breakfast. Looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu. Good job guys.

Breakfast at the Cozy Cottage– decent omelette; home fries, toast and a cup of coffee. A hidden encountered while filling up the rental with its own liquid breaky across the street at the BP. The choice was McDo, DD or Cozy– was there really a choice? I asked the waitress what kind of cheese they had for the cheese omelette and the reply was«any kind you want.» Right answer. I asked for Tabasco for my cheese omelette and was given a little plastic tub with the right stuff– tasting like someone’s Mom would make in Honduras. Yum. Yum. Yum.

We’ve ordered from this restaurant three times– and have yet to be disappointed. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is because the delivery time is a little too long. The breakfast is delicious and the portions are huge. Even when ordering just eggs with hash browns– two people could eat from one plate. I cannot say how the other food is since we’ve only had breakfast items, but if it’s anything like breakfast you’re in for a treat!

With my job i work all over the place and stumble across places to eat. This place is hands down awesome. We stopped by for breakfast and was it good. I had a western with feta and fries. Was excellent. My coworkers loved there food as well. Great little place with hug flavor and great service. Service was fast and on point. Might go back for lunch since we will be working a long day. Gotta try the place. Mildred was our server and she was great. Thanks

Loved this little spot! Amazing breakfast food. Better than your typical diner! The food was so home cooked, I felt like I was at my moms again. definitely my new favorite breakfast spot. And the waitress I forgot her name– was too awesome for throwing in some free home fries!

This is a great place for breakfast. Grits, eggs and bacon is on point. The waffles are pretty good too. The burgers are so juicy especially if you add the cheese and the bacon. The wait staff is pretty decent, sometimes they are overwhelm because of the crowd but they manage to get you in and out. Since the place only have 8 set of tables you need to get there early especially on the weekend.

Ordered from here twice. First time I picked up the food myself(huge mistake, as this area is so congested and parking is terrible). Second time I took advantage of the free delivery, took about an hour to get our food and we were only three miles away :(Also they only accept cash which is annoying. Hello it’s 2015 who doesn’t accept cards? On the upside everything I’ve tried from this place was simple, cheap, and delicious!!! Good food but if given the choice between this place and somewhere else that accepts credit cards I would choose the latter.

We were shopping over at the Fairway in Pelham Manor and decided to grab some lunch in the area. We popped open Unilocal and noticed Cozy Cottage. From the pics and reviews, it seemed to be a greazy hole in the wall luncheonette(which I love) so we decided to head over. First things first, parking is murder. We had to park 3 streets away, and partially on a mini snow mountain. I assume most people are walking in because there are simply no spots to be found, at least when we were there. Something to keep in mind if you’re driving. Upon entry… complete chaos. There were 2 waitresses alternately serving, cleaning up, and helping at the grill/prep area. Nobody mentioned if we should wait to be seated or not so we just grabbed a table. We were pretty much ignored for a good 10 to 15 minutes while we chatted and looked over the menu. No water, no offer of a hot drink, no hello. Nothing. I could not get their attention at all so I walked over to one of the waitresses and asked to order. We went with a burger and fries, mac and cheese, Western omelette, and some coffee. I also asked for ice water for everyone and a small cup of milk for my kid. Food took about 20 minutes to get which was a bit much considering the place had 10 patrons or so. However, when we did get our food, it was good, pretty much what you’d expect in a place like this. And it was really cheap too! The entire thing came to about 14 bucks and it was a lot of food. On the downside, the waitress never brought us water even though we asked a few times and instead of a small cup of milk for my kid we got an empty paper cup and a small glass of OJ. Oh yeah, the coffee was abominable, with the primary notes being shredded cardboard, extension cords, and stale almonds. All in all you can surely get a decent lunch here, just be prepared for spotty service and long waits.

Remains my favorite spot to enjoy breakfast while my car is getting repaired in one of the dozens of fix-it shops lining Boston Road. If it grills, you can get it here. Solid choices are eggs, waffles and French toast. Love the wordsmithing on the signs. «Burger Bonanza» and«Carving Board» instead of burger menu and meat sandwiches.

Cozy Cottage is a through back to the classic«Greasy spoon/truck stop» breakfast places of yesteryear. The place is small, the décor is rustic, the one waitress is over worked, classic dinner speak, large portions and amazing taste. If you want a fancy«gourmet» meal this is not the place but if you want great comfort food and lots of it, this is your place. In the current world of cooperate chains«Denny’s, IHOP, Panera, don’t miss out on a true gem in the Northern Bronx/Coop City/Eastchester area. Support small businesses that are trying to do the right thing and keep«classic food alive».

Came here with the hubby for the first time. Upon reading past reviews, we decided to try the Baron Ambrosia sammich with mashed potatoes and WOW!!! Super deeelishh! And that gravy is awesome! I also ordered a sausage, egg, & cheese on a croissant and it was good except i was expecting a patty, not links. We took each half of the sammiches home. Later on in the day, I decided to steal hubby’s Baron sammich and heat it up in a pan with a little butter to make the bread crunchy. It tasted even better! Definitely coming back to try more foods! Thank you fellow Unilocalers!

Love this place. Little hole in the wall but awesomeness in every bite. Meatloaf is to die for, it melts in your mouth. Everything made fresh on a daily basis and the waitresses know and greet you by name. My hubby and I don’t go anywhere else now.

5 stars for the«Baron Ambrosia» sandwich. Wow! A truck stop diner. Tiny spot. Roast beef + scrambled eggs + swiss + sesame hero + gravy = random combination but damn it works.

I ordered delivery. And the phone etiquette is awesome. Although I’m somewhat far they didn’t hassle me with outrageous delivery fees and spending limits. The wait was about 30mins which I’ll say is pretty standard. The French toast was TODIEFOR!!! eggs and turkey bacon were great as well. Marking this place my new breakfast spot.

Awesome soups! I’ve been ordering from here for 9 years now and never disappointed. Mike(one if the owners) who I adore will try the soup and let me know if I will like it or not. All the guys at my job order from here as well. Never a complaint and deliveries are prompt! Thanks Mike and all the crew. Keep up the good work!

For anyone that is a loyal follower or fan of the eccentric TV personality Baron Ambrosia, Cozy Cottage in the far northern reaches of the Bronx is a must-eat destination. Despite my waitress not knowing of the sandwich named after him, they do have it, just make sure to ask the guy at the register, as it is definitely worth the effort. The place has an exhaustive diner menu of all the favorites, but you won’t find this one on it. The Baron Ambrosia($ 8.50) is melted Swiss cheese, roast beef, scrambled eggs, and a side of gravy to slather on. The roast beef itself is nothing special, but the sandwich is terrific. The sesame hero it is served on is delicious, both crunchy and soft, and putting gravy on anything usually leads to good results. The best part of the sandwich is that it is almost like having breakfast and lunch in one go, as the scrambled eggs, probably the odd-man-out of the ingredients, add your morning protein fix. And while in a New York City diner, you might as well wash your meal down with an egg cream($ 2.50). The place is close to the highway and really does feel like a truck stop. Many people come in for takeout orders, staring and pointing at the steam table, and the owners, servers, and cooks are constantly barking loud orders back and forth. The griddle’s constant sizzle acts as a calming white noise under all of this hustle and bustle, but regardless you probably won’t feel like staying long to relax.
