Imagine at Lehman College has provided child care services for children of Lehman students, ages 2 — 9 years, for almost 30 years. Located on a spacious historic campus, the natural landscape gives a country feel to an urban commuter campus. Our new, state of the art facility opened in Fall 2013 and has six classrooms and an additional multipurpose room for gross motor play, after-​school activities and family gatherings and center celebrations. The new construciton features sustainable design elements including a lobby atrium with skylights, maximizing natural sunlight in the classrooms. A natural playground which will be just outside, will feature greenery and a garden space along with age appropriate playground equipment. Our center focus is to help children learn, grow, and have fun, while fostering active parent involvement in all aspects of the children’s experiences here. What better place to encourage educational growth and development than on a college campus. Our children may be the present and future learners of the Lehman community!

We have been contracted with the New York City Department of Education as a part day Universal Pre-​K program for four year olds, focusing instruction on Kindergarten preparation aligned with the New York State Common Core Learning Standards.
