Cool place to shop for books and it’s pretty cool for cosplayers since it has a giant variety of mask from hero to villain

I meet Neil(the owner) about three years ago when I walked in with my injured son and Neil genuinely sympathized with my son’s ordeal. Neil helped us pick out some comics honing in on likes and dislikes and with his vast knowledge of super heroes and villains in addition to his knowledge of movies we had our issues in hand. It had been awhile since I walked into a comic book shop and if it wasn’t for my son’s accident and me remembering how I enjoyed comics when I was his age and wanting to share that joy with him I probably wouldn’t of walked in. You know what they say, EVERYTHINGHAPPENSFOR A REASON. Sad to say my son never got into the comics but my oldest daughter got into them. Because of Neil, I was hooked once again becoming a regular customer. You can go to other shops but MAGNUMCOMICS is by far the BEST when it comes to sevice and personal attention. It’s nice when you walk in and they know your name and remember your kids. Tony the manager is just as personal and friendly as Neil always willing to share in an antidote or two about comic genre and his past exploits. These guys are GREAT !!!

Very nice comic book shop. Neil and Tony are always eager to help. Both love their jobs and enjoy what they do, and it shows in the atmosphere and the quality of service you receive. Definitely worth checking out.

My favorite comic shop since 1994 and now in its third location in its near 20 year lifespan. Located in the Riverdale /Northwest area of the Bronx, it is holding on strong for a vanishing breed of non-Hollywoodized(I know, its not a word) shops where people actually engage in conversation and debate over the constantly evolving comic industry or even politics. lol. The atmosphere is like Comic books meet Cheers, due to the familiar faces if you are a frequent customer. What I like about Magnum is A) its in my neck of the woods and B) is the hospitality. The owner(Neil) is cool dude who, if engaged, has a vast knowledge of all sorts of films, actors and actresses. Tony, the second in command, is a great guy who will help you with just about anything. They always have some kind of classic Sci-Fi or comic book related film or nostalgic television series playing onscreen most of the day. Especially if it is related to a new book release by a mainstream character. The shop itself is a cozy spot that is packed with new issues, tons of back issues and plenty of toys, figures and costumes. The one fall short is independents on the shelves(because the smaller shops often get stuck with them), but you can easily order any specific title you want(especially with PREVIEWS magazine) and receive it within the week the following Wednesday, when all the new books arrive weekly. They also pack a nice sized array of sculpted statues, graphic novels, trade paperbacks and posters ranging from Alex Ross to the 10 foot Marko Djurdjevic Avengers poster. If you are buying enough goodies, they’ll work with you. What I love most is that its a real New York style comic shop and one of the few that remain in the Bronx. You won’t regret a pass thru and don’t act shy if you decide to walk in. Spending a little something goes a long way as well and we need to support these smaller, less commercialized shops. So, keep that in mind. Drop on by.
