I’ve finally found a great place in the Bronx to get my locs taken care of! Thanks Michelle! This salon is great as a first time visitor everyone was very nice both stylists and customers! The salon is clean and very well kept and they open early!!! I am definitely going back!

If you follow me on Unilocal.or in real life, you know that I have deep-​rooted (enjoy the pun) issues with hair shops. When my go-​to place Afrigenix disappeared, I spent a lot of time and money and nerve cells trying to find a replacement. Mahasin’s is where it’s at. Deanean and MIchelle do an excellent job of keeping my dreads looking fresh, healthy and growing like weeds. My scalp gets squeaky clean and my locks are lucious thanks to these two ladies. I’ve also seen them and the other stylist in the shop work wonders on the heads of other black women, young and old. Perms, plaits, weaves, blow-​outs, whatever… they do it well. My dreadlock maintanence is $ 65 not including tip – a very reasonable price. The shop itself is clean and has a very positive, friendly, respectful vibe – no cursing, squaking, obnoxious music or bratty kids running around. It’s not luxurious but your hair will be, and tha’ts what matter right? Deanean even did my husband’s hair right before the wedding and gave me advice about how to have my sister style mine since I wouldn’t have time to see her before the wedding weekend. Good stuff!
