Marshalls

This place has a horrible selection of clothing and shoes. I don’t know if it’s based on the «demographic» of the area where it’s located or what.
The only time I go here is to purchase food items or toys/​books for my child.
Let’s not talk about the lines.

The idea of Marshalls is phenomenal; the idea of getting good items on discounted prices that you cannot find anywhere else is pretty cool! So you may ask, «So, then, why are you giving it two stars?» Well, here is why…
I went shopping for the holidays to get some gifts, and I found a lot of nice items. I also found a lot of empty boxes on the shelves, being sold. This either means that the store received a lot of empty boxes, or that people were stealing the items, and leaving the boxes behind!!!
Okay, so since it was for the holidays, I was buying a lot of things, and just grabbing everything I liked, and putting it on my shopping cart. I was in this store for over two hours, and I bought over two hours worth of shopping items. So when I got home, I started checking over everything I bought, and wrapping the gifts. Next thing I know, I have an empty box in my hand. I bought an item, and it did not come in the box.
So right away, I call Marshalls, and I asked for speak to a manager. The lady on the phone was extremely kind, and told me not to worry, that I could go back the next day and get my money back. Since I was already upset, I went the same day. I asked a man who worked there to please call the manager for me, that I was the girl who called about the empty box. He asked me to explain to him what happened, and I told him… He started questioning me, with questions that made me feel as if he thought I was lying or like if he thought I was dumb. I told him I did not appreciate the way he was speaking to me, and that I wanted to speak to the manager, like I originally asked. He stated that he was a manager, that who else would I speak to… MHMM, THE MANAGER I SPOKE TO ON THE PHONE (?)
I understand that I should have written down the name on the manager who I spoke to on the phone, but I was extremely upset, so I was not thinking straight… I was just trying to return the empty box. He told me that there are a number of managers on the floor and that there is no way to know who I spoke to… I know I am not crazy, or a liar; I stand by everything I say. So when I told him that, and I showed him that I AM educated, and demanded respect, everything changed. He started treating me with respect, how he should be treating EVERYONE who walks through those doors.

Worst experience ever, they only had 3 cashiers working on hand for a line that wrapped around 4 lines, I asked a manager if they could get another cashier to help move the line along, she told me yesterday but never helped out herself or got anyone else to help out after 1 hour 20 minutes later I finally got to the front of the line only to find 2 cashiers, at 145pm I love Marshall’s but I will never go back to that location.

En esta tienda me encanto por que había variedad en productos y lo mejor es que lo precios eran bastante económicos y contaban con varias ofertas. Obviamente también tenían productos bastante caros dependiendo de la marca. Eso si el personal no tiene ni pizca de amabilidad. A pesar de eso los invito a hacer sus compras aquí si andan cortos de dinero.

Worst Marshall’s in history. I once waited fifty minutes in line to buy a bathing suit. Massive waste of time and the place is generally suuuuper disorganized. Go to TJ Maxx on Broadway near 231^st instead!

The lines are at least 30 – 45 minutes wait every time I go in. It is poorly managed since this is a constant issue. Go to the TJMax down the road. They have virtually the exact same things but no lines.

The layout of the store is nice, they have a shoe department that has men and women’s shoes, the clothing section is mostly women’s fashions, while the tree is a strong causal wear section for men, there isn’t a large business artire area.
There do have a decent selection of houseweres.
The line here however all almost always horrible. Really long weights and store associates that don’t seem to understand the concept of customer service.

I always pop my head in here before going to Target, but I really have to stop. I’ve never seen such a disorganized Marshall’s. I think the issue is that they are understaffed. There are always at least 10 or 15 people waiting in line to pay. Marshall’s in general is hit or miss, but I’ve never actually found something to buy because the store is always in disarray. And it’s packed!

Great prices, just awful service. Cashiers were chatty and came and left while 30+ people waited in line. Waited about 20 minutes to get to a cashier. Would not come back here again. Not a good experience.

This store is alwaus jammpacked on weekends, messy. Merchandise scattered all over. Lpng lines. Not worth it.

I went to Marshalls with the sole objective of finding some cheap crystal wine glasses yesterday. Yes, it is possible to find these at Marshalls.
I love Marshalls and its sister store TJ Maxx. They always have great deals on clothing and other items. It is just a matter of you finding the deal and being a little bendable on what you might be looking for.
Sooooo… Getting back to it. Yesterday I’d just recently come up from walking around in Washington Heights for the Dominican Day Parade and now needed to relieve myself in order to comfortably shop for these wine glasses. Marshalls was unable to offer that service because the bathrooms were out of order. So I had to make my way to the Target around the corner before I could shop in a relaxed state. This isn’t a good idea for the bottom line of the store for many reasons. Fortunately this inconvenience didn’t hurt Marshalls to bad.
Other than that the lines were super long, both in length and time. The lines I’m use to, the wait no so as much. Perhaps, this was a bad day because it hasn’t been as long on other occasions.
The bottom line is this store is going to get 3-​stars. I love the chain and have even found great deals here. This store can make some improvements but the brand is good. An additional positive is the store was fairly organized without things being scattered all over the place in a scattered manner.

I LOVE THIS FRANCHISE BUT I ABHOR THIS STORE. Unfortunately, it is beyond ghetto and has nothing that some other location have. I rather take a train to another borough or area of the city that go in there. Trust me target has done justice saving me outfit & shoes wise just because the store is always a mess.

Like any other Marshalls has good deals from shoes to towels. The security guard is always very polite and friendly. The other workers can seem mean or in a rush when its getting closer to closing time. The good deals make it worth the trip.

I was not a big fan of Marshalls, but this store wins me over. Great bargains, great pieces and a big variety of shoes for everyone. I always find something and proud to walk out with it. No hesitations or regrets. Compared to the Fordham location, it is much more organized and clean. Yes the lines are a bit long and some cashiers can be a bit slow but I do not let that bother me too much. Plus the employees are friendly and helpful. This will probably be the only Marshalls I’ll visit.

Good buys if you can find what you need or are looking for. The store is a bit messed up and confusing. Worth dealing with in order to save bucks.

I normally hate spots like Marshalls, where you’re forced to rummage through racks and racks of clothing only to find something you like in your size section and then it has a huge rip in it or is like six sizes too big. Womp. That said, this Marshalls is pretty standard. I do love that they have free rooftop parking between them and Target, definitely a plus. But this Marshalls is definitely not amazing or horrible. It is what it is.
If you have patience, you can walk away with some good stuff. I only found one thing in here, but it was a $ 260 BCBG Max Azria dress for $ 30. Score!

I love bargain hunting and Marshalls is the place where I’ve gotten a lot of my favorite pieces. A cute Via Spiga Trench coat, excellent 400 thread count sheets, Michael Kors jeans, all way cheaper than in department stores or even places like Loehmans and Century 21. Just be prepared to comb the wracks and try on stuff, and check anything you select for rips, wear or dirt. I’ve only ever poked in the Men’s section once and didn’t find as much of a selection. When I need a little retail therapy, this is the place I go. I’ve occasionally handbag from someone like Dolce and Gabana, but I’m not a handbag girl and its usually a single piece or maybe just a couple.
Oh, and one other thing for the ladies. If you’re an odd bra size, you should definitely be hitting Marshalls or some other place like Loehmans or Century 21. I wear a weird size and can never find it in department stores or Victoria Secret but the bargain places will have wracks and wracks of them and they will be cheap. Get sized (you have had a sizing by a professional right?) and then hit a place like Marshalls to find your size at a price that won’t break the bank.

Sometimes you just need to get stuff at Marshall’s. My inner cheap Asian instinct has ingrained in me that you get toiletries at Target (or on sale at the drug store), you buy vegetables in Chinatown, and you get bedding, kitchen ware, and odds and ends (and sometimes shoes) at Marshall’s.
My mission was to find a set of flannel sheets. It’s getting cold at night and I like to be toasty when I fall asleep. I didn’t find any, but got sidetracked in the kitchenware area.
Good golly, it’s a smörgåsbord in there! Le Creuset ramikins and pots, cupcake pans, half sheet baking pans, bundt cake pans, and every gadget and utensil imaginable.
Also I was lured into the handbags area and for those of you who think that Marshall’s is ghetto – look twice at the $ 200 handbag. Yikes!
At the end of the day I came home with a knife that I’m quite happy with and Rachael Ray is quite happy endorsing.
