I am very surprised that the pancakes were undercooked and missed two items that go with the pancakes and not want to deliver them. Not ordering from here again abd get sick.

On a Sunday we ordered breakfast for pickup at 12pm! The food was hope in containers packaged great. I ordered two eggs, hash browns and toast. The hash browns were surprisingly really well seasoned. I got an iced tea and it was tasty! Over all the food and service were good.

Can’t say much about the delivery, but this restaurant is by far the tastiest and healthiest option within East Tremont.

This is the second time in less then a week that I’ve placed an order online and been given a delivery time of about 35 minutes. only to wait over an hour and a half and STILLNOFOODDELIVERED. I ordered breakfast. omelette and a bagel at 10:20. It’s now 11:45 and still NOTHING. I’m really looking forward to my I’m sure cold eggs and bagel being delivered at some point this afternoon. I am about 1 minute away from canceling a second order.

Nice but too expensive considering the neighborhood is terrible. Plus it’s impossible to place an order over the phone at or after noon.

I walked into this café and there is a very small amount of people present. Two of the workers are tending to other people. Two are talking and laughing. I await service and neither parties pay attention to me as I stand there. Then another customer walkings in and one of the two men laughing goes straight to the customer and just ignores my presence. I was highly upset and left. I felt discriminated against because I was not Hispanic or spoke Spanish. This has happened to me before in this café and I am realizing it has to do with my race. I would recommend this place until they improve upon equal customer service.

Seems like all the negative reviews are mostly regarding delivery screw-ups. I can’t speak on delivery, but I can comment on eating in. A friend recommended this spot, and she did not steer me wrong. The service was great. The staff is super attentive and friendly. And the food was GOOD! Everything was fresh. Although all I had was the Chicken Ceasar Salad, the chicken was delish. Well cooked and seasoned. I would definitely go again and try some of their other goodies. This place is always crowded, so that says a lot.

Today is the last time my co-workers and I are ordering from this place. There’s something always wrong with our orders. The mistakes range from getting someone else’s order to a completely different item.

I just moved to the area and was happy to learn of this place. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is decent. I tried their fruit smoothie and was happy.

We order from work and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. The delivery is fast and they have never messed up an order. The salad bar is great you get to choose from a variety of add-ins and dressings and it’s only 7 bucks. Wraps and paninis are good too.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon. I don’t know who they put in the kitchen today, but he or she should not be cooking. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, homefries, and toast. My order came almost an hour later, minus the toast. When I called them to tell them my toast was missing, they said they woud send it right away. My «toast» arrived 20 minutes later. My toast consisted of cold bread with half melted margarine. The rest of the meal was no better than the«toast». The eggs were overcooked and brown on one side. The homefries were unseasoned, with huge chunks of nearly raw peppers and onions. The pototoes themselves were barely cooked. The bacon cooked fine, but on the cold side. This meal was $ 7 by the way. I really should have just cooked something in my home. North Star just lost a customer.

So check it… just because a place is in the hood, doesn’t mean it’s bad. It can actually be pretty damned good… case in point, North Star Café. First off, the place is suuuuuper busy. That, is OBVIOUSLY a good thing. I sat at the counter and ordered up a chicken/broccoli quesadilla. 5 minutes later, it arrived and another 5 minutes later, it was in my stomach. Slammmin’! They also have a salad bar(you know, like delis in the City?) and smoothie station, which everyone seemed to be crowded around ordering up. Like I said, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. This place deserves respect. Word up.

Darn good. They deliver, which always helps and usually your order will arrive within 20 minutes of placing it over the phone – at least in my case. I love their quesadillas, pretty much anything from the breakfast menu and the fruit smoothies are consistently great. They also customize to pretty much any whim you may have. Only four stars because sometimes they’ve forgotten that little something which was specified but I still order from them on a regular basis. Also, the establishment itself is very clean.

Prices are a little high for the area their operating in the ghetto’s of the south Bronx, people on welfare can’t always afford $ 8 dollars for a hero sandwich and $ 7 dollars for a quesadillas, however the food it extremely delicious, they tend to get my order wrong when I tell them no onions they put onions anyway like they don’t care just give me your money type shit pisses me off, I call and sent back food already 5 times they have gotten my orders wrong. They are worth a try and the food is great that’s why I gave them 3 stars out of 5 instead of 1 star. Their prices are too high and they get orders wrong way to often and complain when you call back and tell them your orders wrong, if the food were not so good I would send them to hell, but the food really is just that dam good.
