S & T Auto Body

In all honesty i wrote a review and it got taken down for «violating the terms of service» after one of the secretaries told me to get a life then told me to kick rocks (I have screenshots of the messages). Not the most ideal customer service.
The work is phenominal though! Looks as though there was never an accident. My friends were very happy with the way the repairs on their cars came out.
This is most likely going to get taken down as well for «violating» so called «terms of service»

First vehicle accident (deemed not at fault by the insurance company) and I had no prior experience with auto body shops. On recommendation of my oil change shop and after reading Unilocal’s good reviews of S & T, I took my car to S & T Auto Body. They accepted the other party’s insurance. At one point I was told my car was ready. However, when I arrived accident damage was still visible on my car! Hence, all repairs had not been made. In addition, they caused other non-​accident damage. In the end S & T did not return the car to its pre-​accident damage state and I did not want them to continue to try and create more damage.
A few months later I went to several auto body shops for an estimate on another matter and felt good to proceed work with Dale Way Auto. I really wish I had known of Dale Way before and had taken my car there first after the accident because they treated my car as if it were a human patient and got the other matter resolved. S & T mechanics are the students who got C’s on their exams and Dale Way mechanics are the students who earned A’s on their tests. If you value your time and want the job done correctly who would you pick?
I agree with reviewer Michael M.‘s experience with S &T. Be careful.

I had a really positive experience with S&T. I took my leased car in for some repairs after some pretty nasty vandalism damages (I’m thinking it was kids sitting/​jumping on the hood – sliding down with keys in the back pocket?). This is a GEICO Auto Repair Xpress station, so they’re extremely proficient and professional when it comes to auto claims. They also take claim assessment appointments online… so no need to call and negotiate when you’ll drop off the car. I got an EARLY morning appointment (730!) and was able to get to work on time knowing my car was in good hands.
They kept me up to date as the car progressed through the servicing (via text and email notifications) and I got a call from the owner, Steve, to let me know how everything was going. When the car was done, they let me leave the car at the shop an extra couple of days (I was traveling out of state).
Pick-​up was easy and the repairs have a lifetime warranty… the car looks brand new.

Update: found the source (rusted leaky accumulator), expedited repair, recharged AC … All at a reasonable price. Even had car washed when returned plus they called the next day to check on service. Found my shop. Highly recommend.

Just wanted to give an update as one event has happened but I didnt have the time to write it. So after I put up my review noting the incompetence of this place I had one of the workers call my phone and beg… BEG…for me to take down the review and will redo the job for free. They wanted to redo a crap job again. Only a total loon would allow this to happen. There are way better places to get work done in the Bronx and thankfully I found one.

My car was hit while parked during the night by a hit-​and-​run driver. They cause damage to my whole rear quarter panel on the driver side. In addition to the panel being replaced, the trunk had to be reset and the whole back light replaced. My mechanic strongly recommended S & T. I decided to take a chance with them because they were not on the list that my insurance sent me. This doesn’t mean that my insurance didn’t recommend them, it’s just that certain insurances have preferred relationships with certain shops for paperwork processing, etc. S&T’s main insurance is Geico which I don’t have. My insurance was willing to work with S&T and S&T was familiar with my insurances procedures.
Tom, who did an excellent job managing my car’s work, took care of me from start to finish. He gave me an estimate on the spot and got my car in the system. There is an Enterprise Car rep. on site and he processed my rental on the spot. I was out of the place in less then an hour and driving in my rental car.
It took over a week to do all the repairs which was fair due to all the work and ordering parts. I got a detailed list of parts ordered and work done. I’ll be honest they did NOT call me to give me updates which might drive some people crazy since, for some people, their car is their baby. I was a little concerned but I could not be bothered with fretting over my car when I had a nice rental and I knew my insurance was taking care of everything and they would be the first to let me know something was up. I did drop in unannounced after a week just to see how things were going. Tom graciously took me on the shop floor where workers where hard at work like busy bees on a LOT of cars including mine.
The work on my car was done in a little over a week and it looked as if there had NEVER been ANY DAMAGE at ALL. If I hadn’t taken before pics of the damage for the insurance company, I’d think the car had never been damage.
So overall I was VERY happy with the work AND the service I received at S&T Body Shop. I will definitely recommend them.

I first heard of Steve from S & T Auto Body from two friends that appraised his work on several occasions, as they had their cars repaired there and referred their friends and family to go there as well.
I recently lost control of my own car, due to the snow storm, and caused front damage to my car. Upon first talking to Steve, he was patient with me on the phone, understood that the damage would be paid from my pocket, did not pressure me in any way, and assured me that I will be happy with his work.
Upon meeting him, I instantly felt comfortable with him. Within minutes, his estimator was by my side evaluating the damage, as to what part can be repaired and what needs replacement, in order to save me money. I was quoted a price, hundreds less than a local auto body in my neighborhood in Queens. I was then driven from his shop to the local car rental and I was soon on my way.
A couple times I called for updates. The office ladies were always courteous with me and gave sincere updates on my vehicle’s progress.
The day I picked up my car, I was very happy with his work, as if the car was never damaged, like brand new. I left thinking to myself thankful that I took the trip over the RFK Bridge to come to S and T Auto Body… big savings, excellent work, and no hassle.

Really great place. I usually have my brother, who is also a mechanic, work on my car, but when he was out of town, my friend recommended S&T. The guy I worked with (sorry I forgot his name!) was really friendly, was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed genuine. I’ll be honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself into or what I needed, but when I described the problem as «my ride is just absurdly bumpy at certain speeds,» the guy immediately knew that I needed a new suspension. Before I knew it, I was on the road and enjoying a super smooth ride. Strongly recommend this place!

This place is awesome! I have a Honda CRV that has been having battery problems for a while. I went to another auto body shop and they said I would need a new alternator and battery totaling over $ 700. When I went into S&T, they told me that I didn’t need a new alternator like the other mechanic told me and the only problem was the battery. This place is full of honest, great mechanics that saved me hundreds of dollars and provided great service.

What a great auto body experience! Everyone there was a delight to do business with! They go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. Being in the auto body field for the first 25 years of my life I am a stickler for perfection when it comes to my cars. These guys really know what they are doing, and working on high end cars is there specialty! Steve the owner went out of his way to make sure all repairs were done as well as a list of other items I added while they were doing the insurance work that he was more than happy to fold in! My BMW looks better than new! Great works guys! I will be recommending them to all friends and family and now I have a place to bring my 65 stang vert!

If you have an accident in the NYC area this is the place to go. I am very anal about my car so I don’t trust many people to even touch it let alone take it apart. I first went to S&T out of necessity when someone smashed into the door of my 2 week old car and a friend recommended them. They did such a great job repairing it, you could not even tell that the door was mangled a few days earlier. The guy who helped me not only knew what he was talking about, but put up very well with my numerous phone calls and pop-​ins to check on my baby. Now whenever I need anything on my car I go to S&T. Something else to note is that the office is very nice (I’m talking much nicer than my doctors office and this is an auto body shop in the Bronx)
