It’s … okay. It was a cold day and the place that we wanted to originally go to was closed down. So me and my boyfriend settled for this place. I had the chicken biryani($ 7 — the menu actually says $ 6, the guy behind the counter let me know that prices increased after I asked him.) My boyfriend had the lamb curry($ 9), and we got a mango lassi($ 3) and garlic naan($ 2) to share. Chicken Biryani — probably old, had a fridge/frozen taste Lamb Curry — the meat was mostly bone and hard, it wasn’t cooked long enough the tenderize the tendon. Mango Lassi — 8 oz. for $ 3 is a bit small but it was really good Garlic Naan — the best thing here, we should have just ordered this Service was good but the food not so much :/

What a great find! Good food. Nice gentleman manning the front. I would describe the interior more but my husband went to pick up the food and the person who gave him the food gave him some cha to drink for free. Only 1 Con: my beef curry had bones. I make beef curry all the time — I wouldn’t give someone bones when they are paying me for one serving –_-.

I liked their food when they first opened the restaurant. But after a while their food went from great to ehh. I don’t know if they changed chefs.

This place is a hole in the wall, but as I always say, you can’t eat the ambiance. Food is very good and flavorful. Dishes are spicy but spiced just right. Samosa was great and cheap. Chicken Tikka appetizer was also good value, 6 chunks of chicken for $ 6. Avoid lamb biryani, it’s all bones and gristle.

I am officially addicted to Sodesh. I haven’t had enough Indian food to know much, but Sodesh is hands down one of my favorites… And I’m from Queens, so yeah. Quality of their food gets five stars. Always fresh. Always delicious. You also get a lot more than the price you pay. Super affordable. Service/friendliness of staff really deserve more than 5 stars. The guy there always thoroughly explains the food both on the menu and on display. Never annoyed with being bombed with 917628376123 questions. Never rushes me to order. He is SO nice, and this matters a lot. If I don’t trust you, I can’t trust your food. I’m so happy to have found Sodesh. I’m so happy they are close to where I work. I plan on going every time I forget to brown bag my lunch. :)

A little skeptical at first because it didn’t look like the cleanest establishment or a place that you stay to eat in. The food was very good though. Staff was friendly and attentive. Garlic Naan and tamarind sauce were average but the veg samosa and chicken jahlfrezi were very good and I love the yogurt pepper sauce. I would definitely come back when I’m in the neighborhood

Nice joint with great veggie samosas and tea. We had chicken Britain, and loved it. The old man who took care of us was all smiles, loved it.

Food is just so-so. First of all, I am a vistor to this great city of yours and I ordered delivery so I can’t comment on cleanliness, ambiance, or service. For this I’m giving the extra star. Below are my pros and cons on the food I received. PROS: I received it in about 30 mins. Meat Somosa was was pretty good. The Bread was the best part of my meal. It was perfectly cooked and tasted great. CONS: The order taker had a strong accent and kept talking to others so it was hard to tell if if she got the order right.(I was crossing my fingers) Food was saturated in oil I could tell because the bottom of my bag was an oily mess. I asked for spicy and it wasn’t. My food was pretty bland. The Chicken Jaffrazie seriously lackluster the sauce was cuagulating like it had been made with cornstarch. My vegetable dish was just OK and the vegetable somosa tasted good until I saw raw uncooked dough. I would have to chalk this one up as a loss.

Im living in this neighourhood for quiet a bit now. And for last couple of months everyday im eating over there. If u didnt try there TEA, i would say«it is a must». U can’t go to sodesh and not have there tea. Thats not exceptable. Food is delicious. Any food they have or u rwquest them to make comes fresh and testy. Mango latthhee(!) Pacora, samosas, and occasionally thay make some traditional apps called PITHA. Ummhhh ! ! ! They r good. Now ill talk about the curry and cababs. Any kadhai(karai) u order is goood. And kababs r also very good. Well coocked and spiced. The people there are very humbled and good people(altho they *local guests*talk really loud!!!). So if u give them a little extra time, they will make sure u love the coocking and enjoy ur meal there. Well. you know… i go everyday for lunch, dinner and TEA. Remember, the next time u go there, you cannot leave without having there tea. That is a must.

Talking about Sodesh makes me picture in my mind the amazing tilapia curry. They do justice with the name they carry which otherwise turns out to be a misnomer. The best way to end your meal is to grab a cup of masala tea which is really awesome!

I came here because of the reviews. I got the chicken tikka masala and it wasn’t good. I couldn’t even say it tasted like chicken tikka masala. I don’t think I would even give this place another shot. The prices are reasonable though and that’s the only thing going for this place. I’d rather have just gone to Nawab in Yonkers and pay the extra money instead so I could have at least enjoyed my meal.

Since becoming a vegan a month ago, I have been challenged with finding good food while at work. I came across this restaurant on Unilocal & went to check it out. It was ok! Seem to lack seasoning in the Chana dal or lentil dal that I order. But the little vegetable appetizer I had as delicious. Not a lot of selections for me so I will not be going again

I really love the food here. Even the veggies are good. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood. The closest Indian place is Woodlawn and Pelham Parkway.

A new addition to the Norwood section of the Bronx. I’ve ordered from them a few times, and never encountered any problems. Food is always fresh and delicious. I always get the chicken samosas, delicious with the green sauce. Chicken curry is delicious. Chicken biryani is amazing, a little spicy but definitely good. Quick and easy delivery, they take debit cards! Staff is polite and extremely accommodating. Small place, very casual, no frills.

I loved their shrimp curry. Lentil soup was good as well. Place is small but service makes up for it. I don’t go to the Bronx often. Next time I go, I’ll surely go there again. Very reasonable price.

Excellent and inexpensive Bengali food. Brightly lit place with 5 tables– the décor is that of a particularly clean take-out place which has a few tables. Free delivery. Right next to a bakery for dessert. Everything I tasted had a complexity of flavors that was enjoyable.

Pretty good food, pleasant staff and quick delivery. Love the Kebabs and Tandoori Chicken, with green chutney! and the spice level is enjoyable as per Indian standards(which my American friends might find a bit over powering)
