Stop N Stare Hand Car Wash

I gave 4 stars because my car smelled like vomit (my niece had an accident) and for $ 28 they cleaned the car so good inside you’d never know it now. Smells great again. For that same price they cleaned everything but I was mostly impressed with inside job.
I think they do just as good a job as any other car wash and I give them credit because they need to work so much harder due to how small the place is and for all the traffic they need to keep up with (with their own hands because the machines don’t do much and it’s the guys outside doing all the work).

I’ve been here 4 times and the service got worse every time. I’d say it was 3 stars when I first came here.
I can’t say it’s that cheap, since the amount of time actually spent washing the car is a lot shorter than other car washes I’ve been to — entire soaping and wash takes under 30 seconds or so, and drying gets awkward if there’s no space to move forward after the car has been washed (left soap stain twice out of 4 times). Depending on how busy the place, service becomes more and more inattentive and spotty.
On a side note, they used to have employees come by and spray the tires while customers wait. It gets skipped more often than not these days.
Their employee treats the car like shit as well. They always hop in and change gear on the car while it’s still rolling, making the unnecessary pinging noise on the transmission. I know I’m not the only one since I see them doing it to almost every car as I watch them, and another reviewer attests to this fact.
There are a plenty of car washes I can go to for same price range with far better service. I won’t be returning here.

I must say that after sitting in my barbers chair this morning and they way he spoke at the service at Stop and Stare I had to go first hand and check it out myself. To say the least, I was so impressed these workers take pride in cleaning someone’s vehicle. I selected the MINT treatment and came out sparkling. my car looks aMazing I had one even guy even ask me how much they charged me for buffing and waxing. and when I told him that I had not go any of those services done he was like what the fuck, they did that by hand ??? Enough said. great place to get your car cleaned.

If you want your car spotless and looking like it just came out the dealership, hen his is the perfect place for you to wash your car. Everytime I come here and wash my car I stare at it because if he great work they do in cleaning and waxing by hand. Hands down this has to be the best hand car wash in the Bronx. I hate the fact that it gets so busy that you have to wait in a line that’s 2 to 3 blocks long. The staff is lasso very friendly and they also take pride in how they clean your car

I went the other day for the first time. I drive an 86 Chevy Truck and a 2014 Audi Q5. Both are customized and I want the paint to last. There was a lil bit of a line but bareable. The guys did a good quick job on the wash. The drying station to the vacuum station was a bit chaotic since it is a small area to be manuvering multiple cars in. Even in spite of that, the guys did an excellent job and all for $ 16 + tip. I was happy with it and would recommend them and try them again!

They were better last year. Lately they dont dry the car correctly. Sometimes they rush you through the blowers. Wheels weren’t cleaned thoroughly last time. Almost all the glass surfaces had soap stains. Wheels were never glossed and no one asked if i wanted them glossed. Usually they do. Not sure why I left a tip. Entrance should be wider and not recommended for new drivers. Pretty typical below average Bronx type service.

They do spotty job and most of the time you have to clean your after you visit this car wash. I had on several occasions return my car bc spots was miss during the wash and dry session. They need to pay closer attention to details. When I am in a hurry I go there but for more detail wash I visit others instead. It’s a shame bc it is in community.

Yes, I drive from W230th to sit in their long lines (depends when you go) to get my car washed.
I have a nice car & want to keep it in showroom condition. Well, as much as I can in NYC.
This place is the best. Let me repeat it for you… this place is the best!
If you go anywhere else… you will be sorry. I can promise you that.
The guys here all do a great job… are nice & the place inside is clean. The women who take the payment are nice too.

Beware! This place is dangerous! It’s so small that it’s a constant chaos going on when there are people lining up for service.
The only good thing is the price. Other than that they don’t even do a good job, they rush you out and the place is WAY too small. People get off and leave their cars in the middle because they can’t maneuver through their tiny space while everybody else waits.
At first I was worried that they were gonna scratch my car or bump it with another cars door but that didn’t happen. What happened was even worse. The guy that keeps the traffic moving was so stressed about his tiny space to work with that he got in my truck to move it and before he even stopped he threw the gear in parking and I heard the thud from my transmission. I payed 50K for my truck a week ago and the last thing I’ll do is go back to this rat trap.
This is an accident waiting to happen you’ve been warned!

I see a lot of good reviews on here but unfortunately I can not say the same as the following people. I went to get my car cleaned today — just the exterior.
Back story: I parked my car under a tree and I got plenty of these brown spots all over my car– not bird stuff.
They cleaned the car and I drive away and I’m like what is that? I pull over and the brown spots are still there, not as much as before but still there. I spent 30 minutes cleaning the rest of the car myself. I really should have drove back but I was so pissed and now late for my party. Not a happy customer.

This was my first time going. I will never go back. I never went before to a HAND CAR WASH. I always used the brushless car wash but since I got a new car with a sunroof I was advised to go to hand wash. First of all, if you go on a Saturday that’s your first mistake. You have a whole bunch of men there rushing to get every car inside. One of the guys is using sign language and I did not know what in the world he was trying to tell me. I got out of the car and asked him where he wanted me to park the car. He told me to back up and he is directing me. While he is directing me, he yelled «dale que el golpe avisa’ Such a stupid comment to make. But the worst is that my car has water stains all over, lousy vaccum, dirty inside. And I paid $ 16 for the Ritz wash. Do not recommend.

Getting a hand car wash for my Benz. Paid $ 12 for a classic wash which included exterior and interior. Nothing out of the ordinary but it’s a good deal!

Awesome hand car wash for only 12 bucks! I have a new place to go now!

They do an amazing job! For $ 25 i got a full detailing a week later still looks amazing have gotten so many complements on well my car looks have referred friends & family

This place is only about 8 months old and is very busy with business. The line to get your car washed is usually 4 – 10 cars waiting. Its worth the wait.
For $ 10 bucks you get a full service hand car wash, vacuum, armor all tires, and windows cleaned inside.
They also have great detailing prices if you want to get a little more fancier with the wash. Also, after every 6^th car wash, you get one free!
