Ashley began teaching during her masters studies at Manhattan School of Music in New York City during 2008. After relocating to Southwest Michigan in 2010, she has guided and mentored many students, from beginners to professional singers, from her studio in Kalamazoo, MI.

Currently touring the U.S., Ashley Daneman is bringing her new album, «Beauty Indestructible,» to Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, Houston, and Washington, D.C. to name a few. Backed by a successful Kickstarter campaign, fans are calling the album an «inspired masterpiece,» «a rich banquet for the soul,» and saying it owns «intriguing melodies, haunting lyrics, and hip instrumentation,» and that «it hits a nerve.»

Ashley is a singer/​songwriter who creates expressive audio landscapes at the intersection of jazz and modern folk music. She crafts organic, vignette-​like songs with rich harmonies that the West Michigan Jazz Society aptly describes as «…an uncompromising concoction of subtle and intimate jazz with a touch of hipster singer-​songwriter.»

Noted as «a fine young jazz vocalist» (USA Today), Ashley’s songwriting has also been recognized through grants awarded and artist residencies such as The Banff Centre’s Jazz and Creative Workshop and Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead.
