Yankee J Z Pizza was founded in 1977. Still managed by the same owner and it’s original recipe continues to make customers come back over and over for that special and unique flavor that only Yankee’s Pizza provides.

Business Owner

Gus is a native Greek who migrated to this country in the early 1970’s. He initiated his venture in the food industry and then dedicated his passion to New York’s favorite, «Pizza». He developed his own recipe and since then hundreds of people come for more from all over the fifty states just to indulge in his famouse Yankee Pizza Slice.

The pizza is always good here. The employees are very nice. I’ve recently started buying the garlic knots to eat with my Italian dinner. I only get a chance to stop and snatch a slice if I happen to get off that train stop. Try it, you’ll like it too. :)

Came to visit with my nephew where I used to live 60 years ago in the Bronx. Had to make a Yankees Pizza stop. The size and taste of the cheese slice is incredible. The owner, who has been here for 40 years, was gracious and a consummate gentleman. I ordered 2 slices and received them neatly placed in a box… the slices were huge! Best pizza I have ever had… EVER!

My least fave non-​chain pizza in NYC. Any pizza named after Daddy Yankee will be bad because well, have you listened to Daddy Yankee’s music? Right. And any pizza named after Jay-​Z is bound to be bad. I mean the guy is busy making rap records, and he’s not even remotely Italian, so how can he possibly make good slices?
It’s overloaded with cheese, and has very little taste. I could only eat a few bites. It was like Artichoke Basile’s Pizza in Manhattan, but didn’t taste anywhere near as good. Not that I like AB’s, but it has its plus points. YJZ is totally not my thing. But if you love cheese, you might love it, so give it a try. I only give it a 3 because I never rate family-​owned places lower than 3.
Yeah, unfortunately, Yankee Jay-​Z pizza has 99 problems, and a very overrated Pizza is 98 of them.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and its still the best. Other pizzas want to one day and grow up to be just like this pizza. It’s the OG of pizzas. If you find that you don’t want pizza there are also other options. Every once in a while I order a beef patty with coco bread instead. I no longer live in the area bit when I visit I try and make at least one stop. So tasty.

Best pizza in the zip code. Traditional bronx pizza. Exactly the same taste from when I was 5 years old eating there. Going to be 33 now. If you only had time to eat one pizza in the neighbor when coming home this is the spot.

This place should be in the hall of fame of Pizza places. When you think of Bronx style Pizza, your first thought should be Yankee Pizza. Consistently good. Affordable, no nonsense Pizza. It’s a throwback Pizza place. It still has Arcade Games inside the back of the shop!
Take the 6 Train to Soundview/​Morrison station. Ask for the original Yankee Pizza when you get out. It’s a block away from the Train station, on Westchester Avenue. Don’t change! Just don’t change!

The best pizza I ever had and will ever have I am a person who loves to go out and try different things or different styles of the same item because everyone does things differently and no one has ever come close to the beloved Yankees pizza!
I’m currently 21 and I’ve been going to Yankees for about 8 years not as much as I’d like to because you know (it’s not healthy) but when I get to craving the pizza it’s not digorno it Yankees
And it ain’t delivery because they don’t deliver lol

Great tasting pizza. It’s been around as long as I remember. If your ever in the Bronx and looking for a great Bronx pizza look no more this is the place for it. The only thing you might find funny are the garlic knots they are shaped liked mini donuts lol.
