Brookfield Oak Savanna

I am so lucky to live walking distance from this amazing place. And to think it’s just a few miles outside of the Chicago city limits!
Amazing trees and all sorts of floral and fauna fill this spot. I have seen deer, owls, bats, foxes, woodpeckers and numerous butterflies. Just to name a few.
They have gravel walking paths that have been improved over the last few years, so you can enjoy a stroll with out getting your shoes wet after a rain.
It runs along the banks of Salt Creek, so if you want to go «off road», you can do that, too.
My dogs absolutely love going here; it’s their «shangri la». Just use bug spray after a heavy rain, the mosquitoes can be brutal.

This is a very nice wooded place to take your dog for a walk. A peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of Brookfield. Full of birds and the occasional deer. Take the time to visit this place with your dog or with someone elses dog. Just get their owners permission first.
