This place is great! Between Sammy, the owner, and Andy, manager (?), I have always been given the best service, the explanations I need and good pricing. I drive 40 miles round trip to get my car serviced there and I’ve never regretted it. Sammy’s is the only repair shop I trust!

I have been going to Sammy’s for almost 20 years now and I have to say that he is the most honest and knowledgeable mechanic I have ever met.
I have owned a bodyshop in the past with a 10 man crew for almost 15 years in various locations and was intemitly involved with mechanical repairs. I can without a doubt say that Sammy and his assistant Andy are two of the most streightfoward and knowledgeable people in automotive mechanical repair that I have ever met
His assistant Andy has won an ANSI national mechanical certification award for best practices and mechanical knowledge beating out all the dealership mechanics in the entire USA and he supervises all the repairs.
My repais on my family’s 4 cars have been nothing but complete perfection and if anything is not done satisfactory Sammy and Andy have always come through with flying colors.
I could tell you story after story about how these people have come thru for me but just let me say that this is the best repair shop I have ever done business with.

If I could give no stars I would! Do not take your call here! Sam is the rudest man I have ever met. VERY unprofessional! They will charge you an arm and a leg just to LOOK at the car. Even then they won’t give you the diagnosis! They are scammers and treat their clients like Shit!

I went to the dealer about a month ago to get an oil change. And surprise, I had to get my rear axle replaced. Ugh, the dealer quoted me about $ 1600 for parts and labor. I had called my uncle and he recommended Sam’s out in Brookfield. I had called and spoke with Andy, who was nothing but courteous and professional over the phone. He quoted me about $ 1150 for the same repair so I was immediately sold. I brought my car in and had found out that they had to order the part which wouldn’t come in till the next day. It really wasn’t an inconvenience for me to come back the next day as I live relatively near the area. They had quoted about 3 – 4 hour wait time, which I had decided to just wait in the waiting area. The job took about 2.5 hours! During this time, Sam had asked if I wanted to be dropped off anywhere in the area while my car was being serviced and I politely declined, I had a book to keep my occupied. :)
I would recommended this shop to anyone, their work and honesty is just outstanding! They had stuck with my original quote from about a month ago, talk about honesty! Sam and Andy are just an absolute pleasure to work with!
The waiting area is clean and smells nice, which is unheard of a mechanic shop. LOL

Of course the quality of their work is outstanding, but the main selling point for me is their honesty. For example, I received a letter from the dealership where I bought my car that stated I had to have various things done to my car. I brought my car to Sam to have the work done, and he explained to me that not everything was necessary given the age and mileage of my car. He helped me save money, but most importantly he was honest and did not have me pay for unnecessary service items.
Also, every time I visit the shop, Sam is smiling and very happy and positive.

Sam and Andy are always so friendly and reasonable. Love coming here without feeling intimated to ask questions. I’ve been coming here for years. Heard from this place from my parents.

I chose Sam’s European Japanese Auto Service based on prior Unilocal reviews and have not been disappointed. Sam is wonderful, personable, and patient — I met him at my first visit for a transmission flush. Andy helped me out most recently with a dilemma I had with my older Mercedes SUV. He too was patient, kind, offered suggestions, and was in top «problem solving mode» to assist me. I will recommend this shop to others and will continue to bring my car to them. Thank you! You two are fabulous!

I needed some work done on an ’06 Volvo and found Sam’s online and saw the positive reviews so I called him up. Quick availability and service, very professional and friendly. Price was as expected, no complaints and would recommend to others.

Sam is a great mechanic. Forget going to the dealer. Courteous and professional service. They go out of their way to take care of their clients.

If you’re a person that believes in first impressions you wont be disappointed here. The minute you walk in and talk to Andy its like talking to a doctor you’ve been seeing your whole life. Very comforting feeling since it was my first time there and the ratio of good to bad mechanics is awful.
My IS300 was bleeding to death (oil leak) so I dropped it off on a Monday and that day was informed of what it needed. He gave me a quote right there on the phone and I was shocked at how fair it was (it was a pretty bad leak — from multiple places).
All in all I will definitely go back for any of my future mechanic needs. Highly recommended.
Hell, this place even has spotless loaner cars to throw some icing on the cake.

I am right now overhearing them offering to call a guy’s insurance company to help save them money. Now they are on the phone with a tow truck driver. And pulling up my auto-​history with them on their computer checking on what they did before.
More cool things: they have a form you fill out when you come in. They take the time to listen to you. They don’t charge for easy things (why is my engine light on?). They have a neat hold message that tells you about their history. They have a computer /​screen where they pull up information to explain (like a doctor!) how the engine works etc in order to describe the

A friend recommended Sam’s and I took my Mini Cooper S to them for a full brake job and front end alignment as I was not up for a long drive to a dealership. Sam’s was not the cheapest nor most expensive, but at the end of the day they did a great job, finished on time and I walked away a very happy customer. I will be back.

Sam, Andy and their professional crew provide the best auto repair service in Chicagoland area. I live in the city of Chicago and tried several auto repair shops in the past. I was lucky to get the referral from a friend. I now do not mind going to Brookfield to service my cars. They always have free car loners which make the process easy.
Sam and Andy have very personable, take the time to explain things and have the best customer service attitude. The prices of the repairs are always fair. I have never seen a repair shop so clean and organized in my life. It is always a pleasure to see passionate professionals who are good at what they do. Sam’s auto Service cam work on any cars. I drive a Jaguar and Honda and I have seen almost every brands of cars in their shop.

Andy does a great job. He is always very thorough, and not overly pushy. He explains what he needs to do and why. I trust Andy, and always feel that we’re being taken care of.

So far I’ve had two major procedure done to my 10-​year-​old VW and both times Sam’s has been great.
They do good work and give great customer service. They take the time to explain what’s going on and I appreciate the use of visual aids (the collection of broken and defunct parts in the counter display case).

If you are in need of an auto shop I whole heartedly recommend Sam’s Auto Service. I’ve been taking my car to Sam for some seven or eight of its eleven years and have always been completely satisfied with the service. (Who really enjoys spending money in their car?)
The shop is clean and under video surveillance with a pleasant waiting area. Sam and his associate Andy are genial, professional, and know me by name. Their prices are always lower than what my Internet research says the norm is. Add to that the free loaner cars and I feel like my case is made. But I’ll go on because there is more to say.
Before I go for a long roadtrip I bring the car in for them to have them check it out (I did mention that the car is eleven years old.) and I am completely confident that they have done everything that they can to be sure of the safety of my vehicle and it’s occupants. There have been a couple of times when he would not agree with postponing a particular piece of work for these reasons. (And times they’ve said that something can wait.)
They were life savers when my car had troubles as we were going through/​over the Appalachian Mountains and they correctly diagnosed the issue and let us know it was safe to carry on.
Sam, especially, is very fond of my kids, as they are of him, and he knows the stakes.

Sam and the crew are awesome.
When something goes wrong, it will get fixed.
Need a tow truck? They make it happen.
Need a «rental» car so you can still go to work when they’re fixin’ broken things? They have it.
Sam and Andy have very personable and solid customer service to not only fix things, but show you how it’s fixed and what the components look like. Andy will drive your car around for 3 seconds and instantly let you know what your issue is. He will even make you a list of the issues with your vehicle and work with you to ensure your car is taken care of.
I will return to them to have issues taken care of until I have at least 500K miles on my car.

I found Sam through Click and Clack, from where all my mechanics have been recommended, dating back to the maintenance of our Saab 900 in the late 1990s back in Oakland, CA:
Sammy is a true gem! Authorized to work on my 2010 Mazda CX9 so I don’t have to go to the Dealerships — which always overcharge IMHO. It’s a family owned business. He has serviced my husband’s 2008 (?) Volvo S60R too and saved us a ton of unnecessary expenses on a couple of issues. His workshop is spotless — I swear I could eat off that clean floor. Immaculate. His work ethic is unparalleled, and I can genuinely say taking our cars to Sammy makes a mundane chore a pleasure. Go to Sam’s!

I’m been going to Sam for years and I’ve always had favorable experiences. I had a ’95 Mazda Protégé and I attribute the fact that I was able to put 225k miles on it to the service I got at Sam’s shop. I only got a new car because the car was getting expensive to keep running, but it probably would have kept going for a long time.
Anyway, I’ve never been quoted an estimate of $ 2400. I have been given estimates at other shops, decided to talk to Sam, and had him either meet or beat the estimate. He also does not charge you to find out what’s wrong with the car. My wife and I had that experience at another place and we walked out and I took it to Sam the next day.
I also had a co-​worker who was a former mechanic look at one of my bills from Sam and he said I was fairly charged. I’ve also had him tell me that some things were worth keeping an eye on but didn’t need to be done right then and there, whereas another shop would probably have pushed me to have it done.
You won’t find a friendlier guy anywhere. The best part is the free loaner cars. I recently took my wife’s Honda there and the loaner car was about eight years older than hers but ran like a top. My wife was kinda bummed out when she had to give it back and get in her own car again.
