Dr. Adam Orden is a fabulous oral surgeon! I would give him 1000 stars if I could.
He’s very calming, extremely knowledgeable, and makes getting a tooth pulled as seamless as it could possibly be.
What surprised me was: the extraction itself was over in a matter of a few minutes! and absolutely painless!
His assistant Susan is fantastic! Both are caring people.
You will be in THE best of hands if you go here for a tooth extraction.
I can’t tell you how afraid I was! They were great at calming me down.
Scheduling was fine, easy. My appointment was right on schedule, but if they were late it would not have bothered me. After all, there could be an emergency surgery with someone who is in extreme pain. I wasn’t, it was tolerable.
Now that I’ve moved to the north shore, I know it won’t be easy to find someone like Dr. Orden. Terrific!

Terrible service and completely unprofessional. Took forever to schedule an appointment for my son and then 30 minutes before leaving home to drive to their office I get a phone call that they are running 30 minutes late. I show up punctually at the new time (while dealing with rearranging babysitting) only to have more delays. What’s the point of an appointment if they aren’t going to keep to it! There was barely a space to sit in the waiting room and no appropriate reading material for children (in an office that specializes in pediatric oral surgery!). I truly hate this place and I fervently hope I never need to come back. They obviously feel overbooking patients and making them wait is ok (no one even apologized) and that patients time is less valuable then their own.

I am a busy resident physician so much schedule is very hectic and unpredictable. Just to complicate matters, one of my wisdom teeth starts bothering me which poses a problem since most dentists/​oral surgeons have limited hours during the week. I happened to randomly have a morning off, the day before thanksgiving, and called the office leaving a message anticipating that I’d have a consultation within a couple of weeks and then removal much later.
I get a call from the very kind secretary about an hour later, she says she can fit me in that day 2 hours from when I called! He has a great website where you can send your insurance /​health information in ahead of time. I showed up at 1 pm, got seen very quickly, and he pulled my tooth out in 5 minutes. Maximum efficiency for a busy physician! Loved it, plus Dr. Orden is a very nice gentleman.
I went and worked an ER shift 2 hours later after getting it pulled out. Just needed an advil once and I was good to go. Unbelievable speed and efficiency and professionalism, not to mention their generosity for respecting how hectic my schedule is and fitting me in the day before thanksgiving when everyone wants to leave early. Definitely recommend hands down for all of your oral surgery needs!

My surgery, recovery process and experience could not have gone better. The team is organized, punctual and knowledgeable. Dr. Orden is incredibly skilled and personable; he put me at ease right away. I had very minimal swelling and pain– although all four of my wisdom teeth were erupted. A very positive experience (due to combination of good luck with my situation and a great surgical team). Dr. Orden’s practice gets my recommendation!

I had 3 wisdom teeth with cavities that hurt every time that I ate. I did not want to take time off from work, so I put off seeing an oral surgeon for about 2 years, until I was down to only being able to tolerate a handful of foods without pain.
Dr. Orden’s staff scheduled my evaluation quickly and then scheduled the procedure quickly. Dr. Orden was courteous and professional without being excessively full of needless small talk. I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled for cavities. I got only local anesthesia and went back to work that afternoon. Did I have some post-​operative pain? Of course, but a little ibuprofen did wonders.
I got clearly written post-​op instructions and simply followed them. His office called me after the procedure to see how things were going and make sure that I was following the written instructions.

After many conflicting opinions and a lot of fear, I’ve been putting off having my wisdom teeth out for about a decade. I’m very grateful that I found Dr. Orden, and finally had it done! The initial consultation was helpful, and he didn’t pressure me one way or the other. Dr. Orden comes across as a friendly, knowledgeable, and caring doctor and an easy person to be around. Dealing with the office and making the appointment for the surgery was fast and easy. They even called me ahead of time to give me an estimate of what I would need to pay (my insurance only covers 80%), however, it did end up being about $ 100 more than the highest amount I was quoted. As far as the professionalism of the staff and the surgery experience itself, I am completely satisfied. The pain was easily managed, post-​op instructions were thorough, and now a month later, I barely even remember it happened!

I’m sure Dr. Orden is a very good doctor and the procedure itself went just fine, but the general experience at the Brookline location was poor. The doctor’s assistant/​nurse and office staff are unpleasant and difficult to deal with. There was complete disorganization upon check-​in and the doctor’s assistant/​nurse was insensitive, unhelpful, and generally rude dealing with a pretty sensitive situation. She had a terrible bedside manner. Also, their Brookline office is incredibly uncomfortable and the waiting area is about the size of a walk-​in closet. They require payment in full the day of the procedure, which I find shady and insensitive considering these procedures are quite costly! I left feeling completely stressed and annoyed for the rest of the day. In Boston and the surrounding area, we are spoiled with so many amazing doctors and dentists to choose from. This office really needs to resolve some of these issues if they want to retain patients.

Hard to believe I just had my wisdom tooth removed an hour ago and I’m giving the dentist FIVE stars… but it’s true! The experience was flawless and painless. The doctor is competent and friendly. The office staff was helpful and proactive. The location was convenient. I can’t think of any way in which my experience could have been improved upon. I would recommend Dr. Orden without hesitation.
P. S. I was EXTREMELY nervous going in to this appointment as my last extraction was very unpleasant, so I am really thrilled to have selected Dr. Orden this time!

Great service and very quick appointment placement! If you need a wisdom tooth out in a hurry like I did Dr. Orden and his office staff are the people you need to see.

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Orden. He treated me for an infection that I had in my wisdom tooth. The tooth had a cavity and Dr. Orden felt there was a possibility that the tooth could be saved. He recommended that I see one of his colleagues who was in fact able to save my wisdom tooth. I was quite impressed with doctor’s honesty. I am sure for him it would have been easy to just recommend extracting the tooth. I have since sent my niece to have her wisdom teeth extracted and my Nephew will be seeing him in a few months. The office staff and nurse were very helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend Dr. Orden’s practice.

I have been a patient of Dr. Orden’s for more than 5 years now. I was referred to him for my wisdom teeth extraction and later went to him again for a consultation on jaw surgery. Dr. Orden is still a very great surgeon and thanks to his referral, I now have a great orthodontist as well. However, his administrative/​front desk staff is really where I would give him 1 star. I recently referred my husband to Dr. Orden for jaw pains and he left the office with a recommendation to get an MRI to diagnose the issue. Unfortunately he never got the name of the person at the desk but was told that they had followed up with his insurance company and the scan would be covered. After we got the MRI, we received a notice from the insurance company denying the claim because the procedure was not covered. We had to call Dr. Orden’s office to get a written letter explaining that our initial consultation did not confirm the diagnosis was TMJ in order to file an appeals to the insurance company. Had we known this was not covered, we would have reconsidered the MRI or did a little more research to see if there was a more cost effective facility. This has been such a frustrating experience and we are still in the midst of appealing the bill which is pretty hefty. Word of adivce — DO NOT go with what the office folks tell you. Call your insurance company and get the written approval for coverage before going ahead with any medical procedures.

I’m not sure why Dr. Orden’s practice has receive mixed reviews. I recently had a bone grafting surgery done, since I need it in preparation for an eventual implant. I had an extremely positive experience. The procedure itself went perfect. The recovery was painful, but the doctor made sure I had the proper pain medication, and when at one point I ran out, he made sure to promptly fax in a refill to the pharmacy. His staff is extremely caring and made me feel at ease (I had considerable nerves since this was my first time having general anesthesia). The doctor himself is a bit stoic and a man of few words, but this shouldn’t be misconstrued for aloofness or lack of professionalism.
I don’t have any complaints about this surgeon’s practice. His staff was very professional and honest. I’m happy to say that I would enthusiastically recommend this surgeon.

My wisdow teeth extraction itself went fine but my experience was not a positive one.

I received very poor service when going to this surgeon. We accidentally paid in too many installments, and it took nearly a year for them to refund us. Additionally, there were charges for things that were unforeseen, and the staff wasn’t particularly helpful to begin with.
Also, the surgery didn’t go very well, and my problem wasn’t completely solved. All in all, a poor experience.
