So yummy, fast & fresh! I enjoyed a free sample of soup as I waited and the fries are amazing!

I love Clover’s breakfast sandwich! It’s a pita with egg, cheese, and tomato, but the description does not do it justice. So tasty! The staff is also super nice. They work hard to learn customers’ names, which is a really nice touch!

Nice staff. Good food. Fast. I tried the falafel based on a recommendation. It was pretty tasty and light and hit the spot. While I can’t say it was the most amazing falafel sandwich I’ve had, but this place made up for it with it’s really friendly staff. As a first time customer, they offered me a free drink! Woot! Can’t beat free food when you’re a starving grad student. Beyond that I still feel this is a place I would come back to again. It was fast — the board said 10 minutes(which is also neat they they let you know how long the food will take), but it took about 3 minutes to get my food.

Had my first experience at clover today. Falafel plate with shaved Brussels salad was on point. Humus, picked onions, sauces — perfection. Nice jazz vibe and loved the water choices on tap. Delicious, fast, cheap — and good atmosphere. What’s not to like!

I’ve had the food truck and loved it. The bigger menu at this location looks great! And I will go back again because of it. However, we arrived at 8:45pm on a Wednesday, and were told we could get either a chickpea fritter or sides. Nothing else. Yup, it closes at 9pm, but closing time at most restaurants usually means that’s the last time the full menu is served. As we were talking, we were told they were going to turn the lights off ten minutes before we got there. So… closing time on a Wednesday is stated as 9pm, but don’t expect to get much variety if you come after, say, 8:30. Maybe my expectations are just unreasonable?

Yummy vegetarian but the staff are all turned down to 33 rpms. Very slow place and questionable food handling by a group of pathologically laid back hipsters. Loosen up your pants, replace your ironic caps with hair nets, wash your mitts, and wipe down that counter. It’ll make me feel like my chickpea fritter is not only tasty but safe.

Excellent food. Was easy to fine. The menu boards were large screen t.v. and told you what the wait time would be for each order. We had the chickpea fritters plater and an order of rosemary fries. Everything was fabulous. All the utensils and boxes are compostable. The only thing wrong with the place is there is no seating. There are just a couple of stand-up eating areas, so right now it’s more of a take away place. They are working on putting some seating in.

I apologize for the late review. I would give this place a never ending supply of stars. I was going through a long day and was craving to have fries from Clover. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my wallet. To my complete surprise, the cashier offered to have the fries free of charge! Never have I ever seen such good customer service. They truly never want to see the customer leave without feeling happy! I almost thought that I had a wrong order because I even got a side of fresh falafel with the fries. I left the place with the biggest smile! They truly made my day! :)

I love Clover and want it to succeed here in Brookline but the management needs to step it up here. The food is never as hot or as nicely done as the other locations. In the mornings they never seem to have the popovers actually made so you wait 10 – 15 mins for them to bake and then another few minutes to assemble. Since there’s nowhere to sit here, it’s awkward and annoying to hang out while they get things cooking. whenever I’m there in the morning, 6 – 10 people will walk in to order and walk out when they hear about the wait time. There needs to be a better breakfast system! In the evenings they seem to run out of ½ the options by 7pm so you’re left with the unpopular specials or the old standbys that you’ve had many other times. It seems like they cannot figure out how to get organized in terms of inventory and getting food out with a good process. I don’t think the lack of seating is entirely their fault as Brookline has a notoriously bad permitting system. They’re supposedly gathering signatures to present to the city again but I’ll believe it when t happens. It seems like Clover has expanded so quickly that their quality control has slipped with each new store they’ve opened. They talk about wanting feedback but have never responded to any of my emails with specific observations and issues with the food. Anyway. I am vegetarian and want Clover to succeed for many reasons, and it’s better than so many other fast casual food options, but they’re consistently annoying enough that we frequently decide not to go there. Hope it continues to improve.

My first experience with clover, I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. I work right around the corner so to find this seemingly vegan/vegetarian spot was such a score. Food is great, the chick pea fritter I’ve had twice now has been delicious and filling each time, I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Such cool things like ginger soda, clover cola, cantaloupe soda, vanilla soda… make my heart happy! No seating though, limited standing spots only. True to the word«fast food» I like.

Clover is great! While I definitely enjoy the various lunch sandwiches, my favorite item at clover is the popover and popover sandwich. And who doesn’t like a freshly made strawberry soda? Also, follow them on twitter to get the scoop on when they have special desserts.

This review is really an ode to the egg and eggplant sandwich. What a wonderfully unexpected delight! I am sure the other menu items are tasty, but it was love at first bite and two years after ordering my first egg and eggplant sandwich from a food truck in the South End, it just seems wrong to order anything else. I like having the grab-n-go location in Brookline Village, although we typically get our fix from their food trucks.

Sooooooooo good. I love the Cambridge locations. Brookline is great for grab and go. Service is friendly and knowledgable. The Pimento cheese sandwich was wonderful and so satisfying. The 3pm special today was strawberries and cream. It’s the freshest strawberries I’ve ever had, with this light cream and a side of sugar. Simply. Amazing. Go. Now.

I stopped here after work on my way to the library. What I found was the worst Clover location I had ever experienced. A fan of the Harvard and Inman Square locations I was expecting a certain level of service. What I got was anything but… First, I was sad to see the Brookline location does not serve beer. However, I was willing to get past that as it’s located in a different town, so perhaps the alcohol law differs. What I wasn’t expecting was underwhelming portions in my BBQ seitan platter, and worse yet, cold food! To add further insult to injury this location has no where to sit. Sorry to be so blunt, but this location can do much better.

Clover is a Boston staple, offering unique and fast lunch options across the metro. With a constantly changing menu, the food is always unique and surprising. Often clover produces highly celebrated sandwiches that surpass precedent: Venezuelan plantain, bbq seitan, chickpea fritter, etc. But sometimes their risky experimentation leads to culinary disasters: the Enzo, Hadley hakurei, panelle, etc. A trial and error approach to menu-crafting is what has made clover such a success. Where other sandwich joints rely on familiarity and predictability to attract the busy lunch crowd, Clover asks us to slow down and experience the unfamiliar every day. So my lunch today may have been entirely unpalatable. I will still come back tomorrow in the hopes there will be something new to try.

I am so grateful for clover… There is no other place around here that you can get the most natural most amazing hard boil eggs with fresh tomato and cheddar

2015 and still no seats at this location?(there was a sign from like 2013 about why no seats… something about something else needing to be built first) :( Delicious as always. LOVE the Venezuelan sandwich! But this location could use more attention to making orders… they forgot our fries and my sandwich was supppperrrr stuffed while the boy’s barely had anything inside. But because it’s clover I’ll cut them some slack. Prob the least cool location though.

I worked in Harvard Square for years, and have always been a staunch supporter of Clover. I’ve been to every location, including the one in Burlington(which is great). Imagine my excitement when my new job happened to be located across the street from Clover in Brookline Village! And imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be THEWORST. The manager here is laughably terrible. Her unfriendliness and unwillingness to help customers borders on satire, and her staff are very clearly afraid of her. Clover has these great, unusually flavored sodas that they make with syrup and soda water. They make them in front of you, with flavors like lavender, banana, and ginger. So, I often want to mix them – ginger banana, lavender vanilla, etc. Not on this woman’s watch! She will nail you to the wall with her eyes if you even suggest mixing soda flavors. It’s «against policy,» apparently. Ask any other staff member, and they look stricken with fear. It’s truly ridiculous. Why, exactly, can’t they mix two flavors together? All of the sodas cost the same amount. It’s baffling. Even worse, the food here isn’t as good as at other Clovers. The fries, specifically, are really bad – totally flavorless. Which is a real shame since they’re so good at every other location. Finally, what’s up with the lack of seating? There is a huge out-of-commission buffet thing taking up tons of room where tables could go. It makes the place so inhospitable. Get it together, Clover BLV. I’m your biggest fan, so if I hate this location this much you can bet things are really bad.

Oh how I want to love BLV Clover, but alas you disappoint me almost every time I come here. The first place I think to check for hours is the company website which tells me your weekend hours are til 9pm. Then to confirm I want to call but you have no phone. Next I try Twitter since that appears to be your communication feed to the public with the menu updates and whoopie pie photos. But neither of these confirmed sources are accurate and yet again I arrive to either a closed restaurant or a sold out menu. Don’t get me wrong, the seasonal sandwiches are awesome, though the Mayo buildup at the bottom of the Panelle is icky. I love the BBQ Seitan sandwich, but our paths seem to be eternally parallel.

Oh how I struggle to choose! I mostly come in for lunch(takeout) and I can never decide what to order from the plethora of delicious-sounding options. 95% of the time I end up with the chickpea fritter — I don’t mean to sound disappointed because I LOVEIT, but they have so many other tasty offerings that I feel a little boring. But it’s just so good. It’s everything I want all wrapped up into one [pita]. Next time I’m going to ask the server to surprise me! I doubt I’d be disappointed. As many other reviewers have noted, the breakfast sandwich is phenomenal. It’s so simple, yet so good. Runny egg, melty cheese, fresh tomato, and a pita pocket to hold in all the mess! Clover really is great. I could eat here every day and not get sick of it, I’m sure. And I feel good about what I’m eating because it’s relatively healthy. If I were ever convinced to become a vegetarian, I’d be ok with it cuz Clover introduced me to all these flavorful, filling vegetarian dishes.
