We offer pottery classes for all levels. Wheelthrowing and handbuilding classes are perfect for adults interested in working with their hands and being a part of the unique process of building pieces in clay. We also offer membership that includes unlimited access to our studio with large work spaces, 21 potter’s wheels, a slabroller, and over thirty-​three cone 6 glazes. Our «Show and Sale», open twice a year, has a one of a kind gifts for affordable prices.

History

Established in 1974.

Feet of Clay Pottery started off as a cooperatively run studio, with one wheel and three owners to share the responsibilities of firing the kiln and paying the bills. Now it is a fully equipped pottery studio, with four kilns, a slabroller, over 100 members, with classes running every night of the week.

The space is fabulous, managers and instructors are incredible, artists are all friendly, and this place has a solid sense of community — very welcoming and laid back atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and FOC doesn’t disappoint. Definitely recommend for beginners to advanced artists. You’ll certainly be more than satisfied.

I took my first ceramic class here and rented a studio space for a year. This place is amazing! People are very nice and helpful. For 120 a month, you get 24⁄7 access to the studio where you can find throwing wheels, wedging board, clay (with extra charge) and all the tools you need for your creativity!
I am sad I have to leave this loving community cause I am moving away. I highly recommend anyone who’s artistic and interesting in ceramics to join this studio! Get your hands dirty and have fun!!!

I attended Erika Johnson’s Clay Sampler class at Feet of Clay and it was a great introduction to pottery! You get to use the pottery wheel and if you throw something you’re happy with, Erika will finish and glaze it for you and you can take it home at a later date — very cool that you can make something to bring home after just one class. Erika is a patient, informative, and fun teacher! A great way to spend a Friday night!

Feet of Clay is a cooperative pottery studio in Brookline, MA. The studio offers various levels of classes and membership. Anyone interested in learning wheel-​throwing, hand-​building or pottery in Japanese should check this place out.
If you’re a clay artist, you can also join the studio as a general member with access to all of the public space, equipment, glazes and tools. With various levels of membership, you join as a semi-​private member where you receive your own storage shelves or a private member where you receive your own space.
The studio has tons of wheels, multiple work tables, electric kilns and slab roller. All members and students are required to buy their own clay. Members get 24 hour access allowing for full flexibility especially for artists with jobs.
I highly recommend visiting this studio for anyone interested in working with clay– from beginners taking their first class to serious artists looking for working spaces.
