Memo to the Town of Brookline: The Fuller Street parking lot gets a lot of use from shoppers and people working in the area around Harvard Street. It needs a lot of help, so here are some suggestions for fixing it up 1. Please clean it up. It’s a mess and, on occasions, looks(and smells) like a landfill or a Manhattan sewer. An occasional visit from the health department would do wonders. Try power washing the lot once a month too. 2. Expand the parking space configurations. It’s near impossible to fit a normal sized car into one of Fuller Street’s spaces. Maybe lose a couple of spaces and expand the others by a couple of inches. Fewer dents and dings to drivers’ doors would result. Think about banning SUVs from here too. 3. Better lighting and sight lines. Sorry, but fitting a vehicle here at busy times and at night is hazardous to one’s paint job. It’s tough to see one’s way around the lot and with cars coming in and out all the time it’s a hazard to motorists and pedestrians. There are more, but… you get the picture. This lot is convenient and necessary but also dangerous. For all of the quarters I’ve put into your parking meters you could at least make a couple of these improvements to create a better parking experience for evcryone. Please do something about it. Grrr.
