I ordered takeout and the girl wasn’t very polite. we could tell that she wasn’t listening because she rung the order up wrong and hung up early. They left out my dressing to my salad and the fries were not salted. The burgers were overcooked and had extremely soggy buns. very disappointed in the service

I’ve been on the search for chili cheese fries in the Boston area for a few months now. I’m glad Unilocal led me to Lee’s Burgers. This review is based on only their chili cheese fries. I ordered the chili cheese fries with jalapenos. Their fries are on the thicker side, so you can actually taste the potato. They are also crunchy on the outside to fulfill that texture component that I enjoy. I found the ratio of cheese to chili to be just right. The cheese didn’t taste like it was microwaved on top of the fries(ie, Shake Shack) and was just the right consistency(not too thin or thick). I thoroughly enjoyed their chili cheese fries and will come back to satisfy any future cravings. My tip would be to order with jalapenos to give it a little kick and crunch. I was able to add jalapenos on the fries with no additional charge. Hopefully that doesn’t change! For those french fries noobs out there who complain about soggy take-out fries… they’re obviously going to be soggy if they are kept enclosed. The key to eating french fries(and especially chili cheese fries) is to enjoy them immediately. If you must eat them to-go, then air out the steam so that it doesn’t make the fries soggy too soon. Instead of using boxes for their to-go chili cheese fries, they wrap the basket in parchment paper to keep it warm but still breathe.

Came here and got chili cheese fries and onion rings. I must say, I was very surprised by how delicious they were. I didn’t try any of their burgers so I can’t elaborate on burgers. But I will most definitely be coming back to try them soon. Chili cheese fries w/jalapenos — This was by far one of the best chili cheese fries that I have ever had in my life. Fries were cooked to perfection, perfect amount of chili was poured over the fries, and I loved topping it off with spicy jalapenos. Every bite had the perfect combination of those three ingredients. Just amazing. Onion rings — I don’t know what they did to them but they were so super crunchy. Every bite made that super crunchy noise and dipping them in the special sauce made them EVENBETTER. I definitely recommend this place!

Went to Boston for the weekend and heard from a few friends that we must try Lee’s burgers. The place itself was brightly light and charmingly decorated. The staff was super friendly and made great recommendations. We ordered the mushroom burger with melted cheese which was AMAZING! Much better than Shake Shack. We also ordered their chicken burger, sweet potato fries with honey, onion rings, and French fries. Everything was delicious! The fruit smoothie was also very fresh and delicious. You could actually taste the fruit.

There aren’t too many burger places in Coolidge Corner so it was a nice change of pace to have Lee’s open up here! There’s plenty of seating inside and they have a wide menu variety that consists of burgers(duh), other sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, all types of fries and other sides, and smoothies/shakes! There’s a little of something for everyone :) My roommates and I came to grab a burger since it was just one of those nights, ya know? We ordered the: –Portobello deluxe burger(~$ 9.50): this since was huge… like I could barely wrap my mouth around it. The bun was pretty standard, nothing special, and the patty with the portobello was decently paired, but a combo that you pretty much see everywhere you go nowadays. It was well flavored and their«special sauce» which was pretty much a type of honey mustard, really added some great flavor to each bite! –Chili cheese fries(~$ 5): we got them to-go so by the time we ate them they were already pretty soggy. Fries were decent and worth a one time try, but if I’m ever craving chili cheese fries, which I don’t very often, I probably wouldn’t come back here for them(theirs can very easily be prepared at home or done better elsewhere). Overall, everything was pretty standard and this place is just a nice simple burger joint for those of you looking for a classic burger in Coolidge Corner.

I’m into it. The price is right and the food is solid. For around $ 20, I got a mushroom bacon cheeseburger, a turkey burger, fries, onions rings, and a soda. Stop judging, it wasn’t all for me. The produce on the burger was fresh though not earth shattering in quality. The patty was basic but tasty, cooked medium rare without me specifying. The burger did not come with sauce, so I applied my own«special sauce» from the bottle at my table. I think it’s mayonnaise and honey mustard combined, and it went really well with the mushrooms. A nice alternative to ketchup. I could tell the fries and onion rings were cooked to order. They were steaming on the inside and crispy on the outside without being overdone. Really tasty. This is somewhere between a diner and fast food place in terms of atmosphere. None of the pretentiousness of b. good but also none of the sleaze of Five Guys. I will be back the next time I need a quick bite in Coolidge Corner.

Lee’s is a good simple budget burger joint that was sorely needed in Coolidge Corner. You could always get a good burger in a the area but it never from a dedicated burger joint. Sometimes you just don’t want to deal with hostesses, waiters and tips and just want to belly up to a counter and order good old American comfort food! It’s extra special that it is related to Lee Burger Place in Newton Centre which is a well established local favorite just down Beacon St. The food is excellent. Onion rings, jalapeño cheese fries and the bacon cheese burger are some of my favorites. What keeps it lacking is the décor comes off as cheap and the menu is too complicated. There are too many«just good» menu items distracting you great items.

The cheeseburger is like a homemade burger — nothing special about it but hits the spot when you’re craving a basic burger. Wish the cheese was melted and they forgot the pickle on top, but otherwise it was fairly juicy and a good size. I wasn’t sure if the white-ish sauce in the squeeze bottles was their special sauce or not but I tried a bit and didn’t like it — didn’t taste like much and was a weird thick consistency.

I had the turkey burger and honey glazed fries and they were both great. I would definitely come back for another burger. My only word of caution is do not use the special sauce on the tables. It appears to be mayonnaise mixed with something and I got food poisoning from it. Mayonnaise should not be left sitting out all day, I should have known better as should the staff at Lee’s Burgers.

Good, closer to meh actually considering their prices though. Probably won’t be on my «must come back» list. Place is clean and good location in Brookline.

Love Lees burgers. So happy Coolidge corner has a burger place now because before… you had to go far for a good burger. I’ve tried the cheeseburger, turkey burger, and the chicken burger. All delicious! The burgers are all well seasoned and juicy, especially the turkey burger. The burgers are big, so get ready to eat. The turkey burger has slices of avocado on top and the chicken burger has guacamole on top. YUM. I also suggest you«combo up» your burger(+fries and a drink). The fries here are AMAZING. If you love sweet potato fries, get them here. Totally worth the extra $ 1 or so compared to the normal fries. Either way, the fries are delicious and whatever is in the dipping sauce. It’s amazing. Definitely would recommend. Be prepared to spend ~$ 6 on burger and ~$ 2 – 4 on fries. The staff brings the burger to you if you are doing sit down. And the place is pretty busy during the normal hours and very clean!

You ever have one of those days when you just«have» to have something. A craving you must satisfy? An itch you have to scratch? I needed a hot dog and Lee’s delivered. It was one of the most perfect all-beef hot dogs I have ever tasted. I like my hot dogs with grilled onions, but nothing too fancy. I treat most hot dogs like a vehicle for condiments, but upon first sight, I knew this hot dog didn’t need heaping gobs of ketchup and mustard. And I was right. It snapped with a burst of flavor on first bite. It was the best $ 3 I spent all weekend.

They have tasty portobello burger and mango pineapple smoothies. Their buns are well toasted. Staffs are nice and friendly. There are no other burger joints around Coolidge Corner unless you go to the pubs. I wish they had changing table for babies; it’s a better place for take-out or quick lunch. This place is more like 3.5 stars.

I got take out. Everything was ready to go in 10 minutes! The french fries and sweet potato fries are exactly what they should be. Fries are crispy and salty, and sweet potato fries are sweet and delicious. Also, they asked if I wanted ketchup and I said yes, and the guy put a HUGE handful of ketchup packets in there. I was so thrilled– places love to be stingy on ketchup packets.

I think this is a solid 3 stars, maybe 3.5. The burgers are pretty good, not necessarily special, but they are pretty huge. Combo comes with an absurd amount of fries(probably good for 3 people). Service was okay and there is some descent seating inside. The ‘special sauce’ they have is really good, but all around I think this place is a 3⁄5.

I was super disappointed after leaving Lee’s Burgers. Living in allston means there aren’t many good burger options, so when I heard about Lee’s burgers I knew I had to try it out. The place itself is very clean and has a «modern» feel to it. The menu also features numerous different burger options — some classic and some with a twist. Then there is a whole menu devoted to different smoothie options too. I ordered the teriyaki burger and was not impressed ATALL. First of all, there was no teriyaki flavor. None whats so ever. This made eating a burger with cucumbers and cold«grilled» onions pretty gross. For a while I was using the foil wrapping to hold my burger, but once I took that off I realized the entire bun was soaked. My first thought was«oh THERE is the teriyaki»…but no it was just burger juice. My other issue was the french fries. I love when burger places put their own unique spin on their fries. These however, tasted like frozen fries from the grocery store. They didn’t look fresh ATALL and were even a little cold. Maybe I had too high of hopes for Lee’s Burgers. I went in hoping for something comparable to Five Guys or Tasty burger. Even something similar to BurgerFi would have been nice. Alas, I was severely disappointed. My advice — if you’re walking around Coolidge Corner looking for a place to eat, Lee’s is cheap and fairly quick. However, if you’re looking for a great burger to satisfy your burger craving, just keep walking.

Coolidge Corner is definitely lacking in options for burgers, so when Lee’s Burgers«Coming Soon» sign went up, I was super excited. After having tried it once, I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed. I ordered a Teriyaki Burger, an Italian Sausage, fries, and a Strawberry Mango smoothie. First — about the smoothie. I thought that by the«Create Your Own Smoothie» menu, that I could combine smoothie flavors, much like their already pre-made combinations. But instead of getting one Strawberry Mango smoothie, I ended up getting one strawberry and one mango smoothie. Umm… ok. Guess I’ll have to be more specific next time. Further, I was disappointed with the smoothies themselves. Neither smoothie was flavorful and it was a chore to drink. The burger, however, is how a burger joint should be judged. While the portions were big, and the meat was cooked to my specification, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of flavor. It was almost like someone forgot to put salt or any kind of seasoning in the patty. The Italian sausage, on the other hand, was fairly tasty, but be forewarned that it’s got a kick. And the fries were pretty decent. Don’t get me wrong. The place looks great, smells great. Service was friendly and everyone was greeted with a smile. Our orders came out pretty quickly too. Nothing to complain about on the service or facility side. I think my experience is probably because it’s so new, especially since the Newton location has such rave reviews(haven’t been there). I’ll give this place a shot again in a month or so when my burger craving overwhelms me.

Given the lack of burger options in the Coolidge Corner area(and cheap takeout burgers in particular), I was floored when I saw the sign go up for Lee’s Burgers right across the street from the inbound T stop. Finding out that Lee’s was related to an already established and well liked Newton restaurant got me even more excited. My two experiences with it thus far, however, have been sadly disappointing. I’ve tried a classic cheeseburger with avocado and bacon, a deluxe portobello burger(deep-fried and topped with bacon, it’s probably less healthy than a regular burger and not exactly vegetarian-friendly), sweet potato fries, and onion rings, and everything has fallen into the«goodnotgreat» category. My beef burger was actually well cooked and seasoned, juicy and flavorful, but the toppings added little more than money on my bill. Service has been efficient on both of my trips, which is impressive for a new restaurant, but they appear to have run into a few kinks with their menu. Several items have been MIA, including the mysterious«strawberry fries.» When I asked the kid at the counter what they were, all he said was«we don’t have them.» Alrighty then. Also, for a place called Lee’s Burgers and Shakes, it’s severely lacking in shakes. I was expecting some Shake Shack competition, but I think it’s safe to say that they won’t be worrying about Lee’s stealing their business anytime soon.

3.5 stars. Since b. good closed on Harvard years ago, it’s been impossible to get an inexpensive/take-out turkey burger anywhere in the neighborhood, so I’m happy to see that Lee’s now remedies that situation. The boy and I stopped in to check this place out for a quick dinner. I had their turkey burger, which, while a bit bland on its own, is nicely charbroiled and has good overall flavor from all the additional included toppings(Special Sauce, mushrooms, cheese, avocado). It was messy but a pretty satisfying burger, one I was happy to pay $ 7 for. The boy had the hummus beef burger which he also thought was a solid $ 7 fast foodish burger. We split an order of the regular fries, which were fresh and crispy, and were really satisfying dipped in the Special Sauce(kind of like a mustard aioli?). We rounded out our meals with some Dr. Brown soda, a nice addition to the menu. We left satisfied but not overly gross, and without huge damage to our wallets, which makes me a fan of this place. Our order was missing fries when it came out, but the staff quickly and eagerly remedied it. This seems to be the new hangout for Brookline teens, so if you’re coming to eat here, be prepared for the crowd, but the staff does a good job of keeping things moving and keeping things clean and welcoming. Worth checking out.

I was in Coolidge Corner this week with my lovely and talented wife and we walked right by this place. As we walked by we both said to each other«Is this the same place as in Newton Center?» Same name — gotta be the same, right? Well apparently it is and we are psyched that they have opened a Brookline location! It looks like it’s a brand new restaurant — everything is shiny new inside. Very casual — you order from some cool menus on the wall and they bring your food out to your table. The place is small — can’t be more than 10 tables but there is also long table by the window where you can stand and eat. I ordered a double turkey burger without cheese and my lovely wife got a deluxe portobello burger. She got cheese fries and I got some regular fries. After we sat down one of the cooks came out to confirm that I wanted an extra turkey burger and not a hamburger(I guess on the receipt that the kitchen gets it comes out as «extra patty» and he wanted to be sure). I was also a little unsure of what other toppings I could get when I first placed the order and another employee(maybe the manager) came to our table and asked what exactly I wanted on the burger. She was super pleasant and said she wanted to be sure I got exactly what I wanted. Both burgers were excellent. My wife said the portobello burger was the best she has ever had — it was super large and there was a lot of bacon on it. My turkey burger was excellent. It came with grilled mushrooms, avocado, tomato and Scooby sauce. Burger was a bit messy but absolutely dee-lish! Super juicy, piping hot and just a great flavor. All the ingredients were very fresh. All in all, excellent burgers! Now, the fries. I have to say something negative about them. The orders are WAY too big! Seriously, there is no way one person can eat an entire order with a burger. We ate in the late afternoon and I did not have lunch that day so I was very hungry and we didn’t finish all the fries and barely ate half the cheese fries. All the fries we had were excellent — super large servings, nice and crispy and HOT! So I am recommending that if you go with someone else, split an order of fries — it will be more than enough. I will say that there is a entrance right near the seats and every time someone would open the door, we felt a cold wind. I would think this would get worse during the winter months but that would in no way keep me from being a big-time repeat customer. Seriously, I would eat their burgers and fries in the middle of Beacon Street during rush hour — they are that good. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. I mean, I think they all went to a special sensitivity training seminar or something. I saw several employees go from behind the counter and clean tables, hold the door open for baby carriages and for a woman in a wheelchair, greet people, thank them for coming by, asking how the food was, etc. Just super polite, nice peeps. Prices are very reasonable — great value. I saw several people order takeout, so the location will probably stay really busy, which is good. The kitchen is very large and spotless. You can see all of it from the front counter. Lots of people back there and everyone seemed to be upbeat and working with a purpose. I didn’t ask anyone there if the location was new but I am assuming it is. I will definitely be back with friends, coworkers, strangers, etc. You simply cannot beat the burgers and fries. They also had an extensive smoothie selection but I don’t drink them so cannot comment on them. Lee’s Burgers is definitely a place to put on your«must try» list!
