Beautiful clear water. Serene. White sand. Clean. Lifeguards on duty during the summer season, which has its pros and cons. Lifeguards pros are obvious. Cons are that, no floaties are allowed, only coast guard approved PFDs are allowed, no skipping stones, no horseplay, etc. there also porta-potties in season. Did I say picture perfect? Idyllic. This is the best New England has to offer. Yes it is residents only but you can bring guests.

I know that some people in town love going to the«beach», Lake Potanipo, and the Grove, but I’m not one of them. It’s just not a fun place if you have very small children. No bathrooms, no snacks, and the minimal playground is in bad shape and definitely not safe for little kids. The beach is only open to town residents and guests. On the other hand, it is very pretty, and the lighthouse is cool. Across the street is a lovely covered walking bridge over the Nissitissit River.
