Preston Properties

My friends and I were so lucky to meet Elmer one of the awesome people who work at Preston Properties. His service was beyond exceptional. On top of Elmer’s hard work and advice, whenever we would come to the Preston Properties office, we were greeted with smiles and immediate support. Great real estate service, would recommend to anyone!

I don’t know much about Preston Properties, per se, but I do know about an employee named Dan Tetrault. I used to live in Waltham and I work at a university in Boston… because of unforseen circumstances, I needed to find a place to live fast, and this was in the middle of the horrible Boston winter we had in 2015. It was bad. In a state of panic, I went to my school’s «off-​campus housing fair.» Filled with horrifying real-​estate agents anxious to rip off college kids, I met Dan. I told him I was a working-​class guy who didn’t make a lot of money and he said (honestly) «a lot of these people don’t want to deal with someone like you, you’re just looking for a studio… but, I like to deal with everyone.» Long story short, Dan got me in a very nice (expensive, but it’s Boston!) small studio.

I would highly recommend Preston Properties to anyone in the market! Had a fabulous experience with this company!
I worked closely with Mike Preston (to find a place to rent), the founder of the company. He was extremely easy to contact and very responsive both to calls and emails. I was searching during the time of the huge snowstorms unfortunately, but Mike was great and really flexible when working around snow days and other listing agents’ schedules.
Unfortunately, due to a separate management company, we were forced to abandon our original find, but Mike set up new places to see ASAP. Coming from upstate NY on day trips to try and find a place, it was really appreciated how efficient and well organized Mike was– he made sure to keep a timely schedule so we weren’t driving home too late.
Since I as looking to move at such an awkward time (mid March), availability of places is much lower than in September for instance; however, Mike did a great job making sure he found me the perfect place. If I ever move, I will definitely be using this company again.

We had a great experience with Preston Properties. My husband and I decided to move to Boston on very short notice and I was referred to Mike by a coworker. He was extremely helpful in getting us in the right neighborhood, researching different options that met our wishlist (accommodating our dog) and finding us the perfect place in a very short amount of time. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy or rent in the Boston area.

Just last month, I had the pleasure of working directly with Mike from Preston Properties. I was looking to rent an apartment in Boston on fairly short notice.
Through his hard work, Mike was able to find me a place to live in the area I was looking for. Not only that, he was able to negotiate a lower rent with the landlord.
I was very impressed during every step of the process while working with Preston Properties. From the ease at which we communicated to how I was made to feel like a valued customer. It was a level of service that is increasingly hard to find.
I have recommended Mike and Preston Properties to my friends and want everyone in the Boston area to know what a gem of a company this is. I will definitely go back to them again.

So, my last review was taken down because it lacked firsthand experience. So, I will go into more detail. I own a property in Boston. I received an email from Zillow stating that my property was for rent through Preston Properties. As the homeowner I know this is false since I have had tenants happily living in it for over a year and have a management company that keeps me aware of what is happening.
I called Preston Properties to ask about the listing and as soon as I said I was the property owner, their response (without asking for any proof that I was the homeowner or for any more details) was that they’ll take down the listing. If the listing was a genuine innocent mistake then I would think they would have looked further into it instead of jumping to remove the listing so quickly. It is my belief that they knew what they were doing when they posted a false listing.
This seems to happen often with properties in the Boston area and I don’t appreciate my property being used as false advertising. Nor do I appreciate the time it took for me to contact my management company to make sure they were not part of this (which they were not).
