1811 Auto Repair & Body Shop

Joe, the owner of 1811, is my go-​to mechanic. He’s a very nice honest guy that I’ve come to really trust and his prices have always been very reasonable. He does a lot of contract work for law enforcement and the tiny waiting area has a bunch of Christian stuff in it so feel free to infer what you will with that. I’ve always had good experience with the other guys in the shop as well. They’re good at giving me a call if there are any questions or to let me know when the car is ready for pick up and turn around has always been very reasonable. Finding a good mechanic is almost worse than finding a good doctor so I’m really glad I found Joe and that his shop is only about a mile from my apartment.

I must say the customer service I received while in this shop was outstanding! I had to go to get pictures of my vehicle taken for my car insurance and I had about an hour and a half commute to this place. Switching from California to New York registration while staying in New Jersey is such a hassle. When I got there it had just stopped raining and I was informed that they don’t do the pictures when the weather is muggy. Completely understandable. However, the staff went out of their way to help me out and I was more than taken care of! They are extremely friendly and provide great customer service! It was such a positive experience that I wouldn’t mind making the drive for any services I may need in the future. I highly recommend them!

They are honest and prompt. Joe, the owner, is also quite funny. I have been going to this shop for years now. 1811 has serviced my various cars from a BMW to a Toyota to an old Ford pickup. They can do anything and they have seen everything, they are MASTER MECHANICS. I must say, however, that the place is busy so they may seem a bit curt at times, but they will service your car with extreme competence. I highly highly recommend them. You certainly will not get ripped off here (the prices are very fair, labor plus parts, that’s it – no games) and your car will be fixed. I am not even in the area anymore but I make the trek back due to extreme confidence in Joe and his crew.
A quick story: I sent a buddy to this shop after the plastic bumper on his car got severly dented while being parked on the street. Joe and his top body guy Richie (they do collision and body work here also) were able to get this BIG dent out like it was never there, and he didn’t even charge my friend a dime! I guess Joe felt guilty charging him because they got it out quickly! My buddy was totally floored.

For someone who has an old beaten up car, this place is god sent. They are honest and fast. They don’t try to up sale nor rip you off.
One time I dropped off my car a day before a snow storm. They closed early due to the severe weather but the owner was waiting for me in his car so I can have my car back. You don’t see mechanics like them everyday.

These guys are really nice and helpful. They give you an honest, accurate estimation of time, and honestly assess your car. I now have an official mechanic!

My car was ready two hours earlier than he estimated. And they wash your car for free. The owner is very nice and personable. It’s the first place I would go for any car work in the neighborhood.
