I tried to return beer bottles and was not only told that I could not return them there(which seems odd for a store that specializes in beer), but the woman at the cashier’s counter turned on me with pre-emptive nastiness for even asking. What’s up with that? I’ll never go back to this store again. I’m a grandmother in my 70’s and this was the rudest treatment I have received in a decade — for merely asking why? MYGOODNESS!

We stopped by here to pick up few stuff like snacks & drinks. The place is a bit small but the selection is decent. The staff were pretty polite & friendly.

Had an unfortunate experience here. Was checking out some groceries and the lady started swearing. She said she had somehow charged my card accidentally for the previous ladies groceries. It was only about $ 3 but she spent some time figuring out how to credit my card back. However when I received the bill, the 2 charges were there and no credit had happened. Anyway I understand how easy it is to make mistakes so I went back. Bought some Kefir. Noticed it had a slight unusual fizz to it, so I checked the expiration date. It had expired a month ago. I’m sure I’ll give them a third chance, maybe just had some bad luck.

WILLNEVEREVER go here again after the man behind the counter nearly nearly spat on me after I kindly tried to tell him he short changed me by $ 15. He insisted upon BARKING at me like an ANIMAL. Even though this is the biggest deli in the immediate area, I will not tolerant such rude behavior from a neighborhood deli.

I like this place. It’s my go to in the neighborhood for quick fresh produce, amazing craft beer selection(gluten free options!) and gluten free snacks as well.

Ugh. That wonderful family sold the place. Now it’s your run-of-the-mill, pretentious, everything is organic and super-pricey Park Slope grocery store. So disappointing.

They underwent a long, annoying renovation/expansion earlier this year, so whenever I popped in, half their stock was always missing. But Ace Supermarket, now known as 7th Avenue Gourmet, is back with a bang. The previously dusty and claustrophobic aisles have been replaced by brighter, cleaner shelving, and you no longer feel like a 20-lb bag of cat food will collapse on you when you turn a corner. They’re somewhere in between a bodega and a supermarket, with the inventory to match. Stock since the renovation has gotten a bit fancier, with organic this and that and shiny types of water — even produce! Looks like they’ve added a deli counter as well. Most notably, 7th Avenue Gourmet retained Ace’s AWESOME beer selection. What the heck kind of neighborhood grocery has this many kinds of beer? You can mix and match bottles, too — they have a stack of recycled cardboard holders in front of the coolers. Prices are comparable to Key Food nearby. But the older man(owner?) at the counter is always ridiculously friendly — decidedly not comparable to surly Key Food cashiers. Support your local businesses!

Recently renovated, clean, and well stocked. Lots of higher end yummy items, and a bunch of good beers. But why am I writing my first ever Unilocal review of this place? Because after the cashier rang up my purchases, I realized — I didn’t have my wallet! But for the first time in my nyc shopping experience, the kind angel behind the counter asked if I loved close, and generously allowed me to walk out with my purchases, after promising her to come back and pay. Shop local!

This place has a decent selection of most things, but most important is that they are always willing to entertain the idea of ordering new items for their inventory if there is a reasonable request. They’ve done so on two seperate occasions and I am eternally grateful for it.
