I highly recommend Anthony Gallo and his team. They did a really great job on my balcony that needed to be brought back to life. Great customer service and did this job at very short notice. Installation of privacy panels and some greenery to spruce up the place.

I needed an estimate right away for some construction going on in my yard. I called several landscapers and they never got back to me. I called Anthony and spoke to him right away. He was able to set up an appointment with me the next day. He was running a little late and had the courtesy to call me and let me know. Not many contractors do that. He was very professional and got back to me right away with a reasonable estimate.
I plan on using Anthony for the work being done because he truly is a professional and cares very much about his work and his customers.

Went to pick out a Christmas tree today, and, though I’ve live in the city for more than ten years, I still miss the pop-​up forests of my southern youth, and buying from a street stand has never quite hit the sweet spot for me. This year my husband and I drove down to visit the folks here and couldn’t have been happier with the service. They had a nice selection upright and open so that the branches had settled and you could tell what the tree was likely to look like when you get it home, but they were also perfectly happy to open up as many wrapped trees as it took to suit my selective heart. They offered us delivery, but we didn’t need it, and they secured the tree to our roof instead. Very helpful, knowledgable staff, I wish I had a garden so I could have reason to visit the rest of the year!

I first came here last year, about a 2 weeks after thanksgiving, to pick up my tree. It was convenient and I really like to support local business whenever possible. Great experience! They were helpful, patient and affordable. This year i needed (wanted) to get my tree earlier so I went the Saturday after thanksgiving. Slightly different experience. We got there at almost 10– their website says they open at 9– and they weren’t quite ready. I also called and the owner told me the guy who was there would be happy to help me. The trees weren’t open so it was hard to pick a tree. The guy who was there, clearly wasn’t in the mood to open them up or trimming the end off. (Considering how annoyed he looked when I asked him) I ended up getting a tree that, once I got it home, I didn’t love. I’ll go back next year for sure, but I’ll wait till the weekend after Thanksgiving and will go later in the day. They still tick off the boxes-​affordable, convenient with a decent selection of trees. I’m pretty sure this was a one off. Giving them 4 stars based in last years experience.
12.5.15: This year was stellar! The owner himself helped me and dude from last year was in a better mood. I adore this place. Also got an undecorated (my request) wreath.

I hired Anthony Gallo to «re-​do» my side yard – a big job since the yard is the adjoining lot. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to re-​sod the whole thing or just roto-​till it under and re-​seed it. Mr. Gallo was suggesting re-​seeding because re-​sodding was, by comparison, so expensive. I thought that was refreshing – a vendor trying to save ME money! I decided to go with the sod anyway, and he gave me a really good discount (I guess because of the size of the yard, and because he is such a nice man.) I also had them trim some arbor vitae.
Bottom line: they showed up on time, were quiet and respectful, did a good job, were supervised by Mr. Gallo or a family member, and finished on time. Oh yeah, they also cleaned up my bedraggled, winter-​destroyed flower beds. No charge!
I would highly recommend Anthony Gallo.

Just got my Christmas tree! It’s perfect and I received the delivery so quickly! The person I spoke to on the phone when placing my order was very professional and accommodating. The delivery guy came and explained how to set it up as I am doing this on my own as a surprise to my husband and he’s usually the one to set it up. Now I’m sitting here by the tree enjoying the wonderful smell waiting for my hubby to walk in. :) I would definitely use this company again next year!

Terrible customer service with delivering Christmas trees. Were supposed to deliver on Saturday and just never showed up. We rescheduled and then they failed again. Phone support wasn’t even sorry.

Buying our first Christmas tree in NYC was painless, fast, and was not a huge blow to the wallet. For just over $ 50, we brought home an 8′ Frasier fur that is tall, slender, and nicely shaped — just what we asked for.
I like it that this is a family-​owned local business, too. We will definitely return for next year’s tree!

Purchased a Groupon for a $ 49 8 ft. tree but opted for the 7 ft. due to the height of the ceilings in my apartment (loved that I had that option — saved me the time of having to cut it down myself once it got here). Went online and filled out the form for a delivery date request that they conveniently set up on their website for Groupon customers. Super easy/​dummy proof. I received a call from someone at Anthony Gallo’s the day before my delivery date request and she gave me a time window. I was SO pleasantly surprised when they showed up the next day 10 mins before the top of my time window. AWESOME!!! It’s Saturday and I can eat some breakfast and go back to bed… Ah… And that’s JUST what I did… The tree is just beautiful!!! (I’ve posted a picture). Smells great, is full but not OVERY full and SUPER fresh!!! Best of all, I didn’t have to put it in my car or tie it to the top of my car and then bring it up 2 flights of stairs. Delivery guys were kind and friendly. I promised them THIS Unilocal shout out and it’s 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for Anthony Gallo’s!!! Merry Christmas and see ya next year… XO

These guys rock, second year in a row of getting the best Christmas tree possible. Now this is coming from a guy who has cut down my own tree, had them fedexed after being cut, and even shopped around every street vendor in the lower west side of Manhattan. So it comes from a lot of experience, these guys get the most fresh and most full trees you can find. This year I trusted them to get a full perfect size and sight unseen it shows up and boom there is Christmas.
If you head out there, its a trip, but worth it. Though don’t worry if you ask them to pick the tree out, they will get you a great one.
Plus these are a better value than the ones on the street, fresher and cheaper.
Anthony is great guy, and has a great team you will not be disappointed.

I am a Property Manager of a wonderful building in Brooklyn and we have been using Anthony as our landscaper since 2004. We have always been supremely pleased with his work and he always knows just what to suggest if you want something annual, perennial or something to stay hearty to last the winter. He and his workers get the job done quick and clean and we will continue to look forward to working with him.

Anthony was very helpful when I wrote in with questions after seeing the groupon. This was my first tree in years and I wasn’t sure what size would be best or how long they would last, etc.
The tree was a little late in coming but thankfully I was able to be home for the afternoon.
The tree lasted a very long time. I would say 6 weeks!
Extremely good deal for the price. I would definitely use them again.

I used the Groupon coupon for a 6 – 7 ft. Frasier fir Christmas tree with delivery. I had a little trouble getting through on their phone line. I assume they got overwhelemed by the Groupon offer, as many businesses do. They set up a date, and it was delivered on time. The tree is in excellent condition, and the delivery man helped me put it in the tree stand. I will definitely use them again!

Full disclosure, I’m a Christmas fanatic. It took a lot for me to go with Groupon rather than overspending on a side street of Manhattan where I could examine 10 trees before picking the winner. And normally after getting the winner up in the apt, it may look great, but we have to light a Yankee Christmas candle to achieve that ever-​elusive tree smell.
Clearly I had to see the tree before they delivered it. So a week after Thanksgiving we traveled to Flatbush ave. (not the most romantic part of the tree-​getting tradition). But the minute we walked into the nursery I was at ease. It was fully stocked with fresh-​smelling, tall trees. Anthony was kind and accommodating so at this point I felt like my $ 49 purchase was worth it. Much better than what I was used to on 6^th ave in Soho, spending triple the price.
We upgraded to the Balsam rather than the Fraser – an extra $ 15 that we were happy to spend to have that amazing Xmas tree smell.
Scheduling the delivery was a bit of a process. More than a Manhattanite is used to. My advice to future Grouponers – they have a schedule, and it may not be yours. Nevertheless Anthony made up for it by making a special trip into the city to deliver our tree. A few days later than we preferred but in the end it was worth it. The tree is lovely and the house has never smelled more Christmasy :)
We’ll be back. But next year we’ll visit early to schedule delivery the day after Thanksgiving so we can enjoy the amazing tree as long as possible.

They were really responsive in terms of setting up the appointment, and after one email exchange, was told that they would be getting in touch with me after Thanksgiving. Lo and behold, the Monday after Thanksgiving, I got a call and we set up the delivery for the following evening. I also purchased a stand and tree life from them b/​c I didn’t have them.
The guys were right on time with delivering the tree, though they forgot the stand and tree life. It took some persistence to get the re-​delivery of those things, so I just stood the tree in a bucket of water until I got the stand. I understood that they were probably so busy with this Groupon, but that’s the only reason why I didn’t do a 5-​star rating here, honestly.
The tree itself is really nice! I think it’s a Balsam Fir, and it’s so nice — I think much nicer than a lot of the trees Ive seen when walking by the other tree-​sale places. I’m very pleased.
Everyone I spoke with was very nice, so overall it was a very positive deal!

Great tree, great deal. Nice owners… but. I bought this Groupon and had to try to schedule a delivery multiple times over the course of 4 days. The first time they were supposed to deliver their driver «got lost». We’re both located in Brooklyn and it’s 2011 — the trucks don’t have GPS? Not happy. The second delivery set up time they got the tree here but only after the delivery guy called to ask if they could bring it the next morning instead. We said no and the tree was here an hour later. I love Groupon but these this nursery has gotten in way over their heads in terms of of a delivery system.

My tree was delivered yesterday, and it is beautiful! Thought it took a while to make the appointment and their was some rescheduling, it was worth it! Very friendly delivery guys, perfect sized tree, and no my house smells wonderful :) Thanks!

Just got my tree delivered from here and it is beautiful. I saw the scoutmob half off a christmas tree deal and couldn’t resist. I live in brooklyn and don’t have a car so they picked out a tree for me and delivered it with-​in 24 hours. Great costumer service! I will def get my tree there again next year.

I purchased a Groupon for a 6-​foot Christmas tree for $ 39.
I called them to schedule my delivery and they gave me several available times, including a Sunday. Some places when I tell them I am using a Groupon are not super nice about it, but they treated me very nicely. They just dropped off my tree and it is beautiful. The guys who dropped it off were nice, friendly and efficient and I am so excited to start decorating.
I think the prices even without a Groupon are very reasonable. Last year we spent $ 60 on a tiny little 2-​foot tree from a place we found on the street and we had to carry it home… this year, Anthony Gallo delivered, the tree is much bigger and nicer, and the price can’t be beat. I will visit them again. Highly recommend.
